  1. I gues you could do it that way. But, you would stiil need to know the reference ID for the particular light source you wanted to edit. Easier to load up the ESMs in the CK and just make an plugin that does it. Or, edit the ELFX plugin I guess. But yeah, probably easier just to do this one in the CK.
  2. If you want to use DXT5, paint.net seems to have a little better compression than GIMP. I usually edit my textures with GIMP and save them uncompressed then compress them with paint.net. Paint.net also has a plugin available that will open BC7. However you have to rename the file extension to ".DDS2" for it to work. If you want to use BC7, Compressonator will do it.
  3. I did the edits in the Skyrim.ini. I'm not sure if you can do the same thing in the SkyrimPref.ini. I never tried it. Also, I didn't think about console users wanting to be rid of auto aim.
  4. for me, definitely not working with SE. If I have ugrids at 7, do as you say and change to 5, exit SE, restart SE and load the sav with SE and ugrids = 5, I get a CTD.The new sav is to load with ugrid=7 only. There's a trick to it. Let me see if I can find the link. Please stand by. Edit: Here it is. https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/526550-how-to-reset-ugrids-to-load-to-lower-setting/
  5. Scoped bows feel aesthetic to me. It does not zoom in more than normal bows or have anything enlarged. But you should consider Disable Autoaim mod, I bet it is the reason you are bad at bow is the autoaim in Skyrim. In addition I also use Immersive HUD to dynamically hide crosshair unless I use bow or spell. You don't need a mod to disable auto aim. Just edit the Skyrim.INI. [Combat] fMagnetismLookingMult=0.0 fMagnetismStrafeHeadingMult=0.0 Pretty sure those two lines are all you need.
  6. It could be anything, so I'm just guessing. Use SSEedit to make sure all the plugins have the correct Form Version? 44 Maybe try uninstalling the Bethesda logo remover? Any mods that effect dead bodies? Body removers? Maybe VioLens?
  7. The only thing that can mess things up faster than a computer is the combination of tequila and handguns.
  8. Cool. Hit me up if you have questions. I haven't done any modding for Fallout yet. I'll need another hard drive if I want to get into that. I'm a bit of an asset hoarder and have like 500gb of mods and other assets for Skyrim. One more thing. Use Environment Map Scale to get the shine. A setting of 1 will usually do it. A lot of that depends on how "white/black" the mask is. Then use Specular Strength/colour to get the glare or highlights. You'll see what I mean.
  9. Also Unofficial SSE should be right after Dawnguard in the load order. The more I look at your load order the more think you use a lot of mods that might have weird interactions with each other. If you don't have SSEedit you download it. Then use it to check for conflicts and errors.
  10. The most typical reason for a CTD is an issue with a texture or mesh. For instance if a texture dimension isn't correct it can crash the game when the engine tries to render it. I once had a texture that was off by one pixel on one side and CTD. Took me a minute to find that one. Mesh that are not properly optimized for SSE can cause issues as well. I have also had collision meshes cause a CTD when you looked at them from the angle. What makes it hard to tell anything from that video is the save/load save/load. It would be better to see a vid where you run around until CTD. At least then you could pinpoint the immediate area where the issue occurs. With your mod list it could be a lot of things. Taking a guess I'd try disabling the lighting mods. Are you using SKSE64? PC head tracking?
  11. Could you put the timer on the Activate Parent? Then put a trigger box on the other side of the door that swaps the door for the locked version? i.e. Enable the new locked door and disable the old one?
  12. Also the quality of the "shine" is going to depend on the cubemap you chose. So, experiment untill you get what you. There's some cubemap resources in the oldrim section by a guy called Humus you can download. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/81213
  13. It's easy to set up. You might need to edit a greyscale version of whatever textures for the environment map or mask, but that can be done quickly in GIMP or paint.net. https://www.reddit.com/r/skyrimmods/comments/4578n8/environment_mapping_cube_map_help_in_nifskope/ Search "Nifskope Environment Map"
  14. Unfortunately HDT SMP hasn't really caught on here on the nexus forums. If your over 18 years of age I can tell you where to look for help though.
  15. You might have to hunt for it in the list. It doesn't really go by load order. It should be there though.
  16. I have been using TK Dodge. I haven't tried Ordinator. I have archery maxed, but I didn't care for the Bullseye perk. I tend to think enemies are dead when they fall over and I find it disconcerting when they get back up after I have moved to a new target, so I don't use that one. I think I'd like it better if it just froze them in place. But, now that I'm thinking about it, a paralyze poison might be handy against mages that get out of line. I think I'd prefer that to the randomness of Bullseye.
  17. Check the body slots on the meshes in Nifskope.
  18. So I guess I not the only one that finds it easiest to just fight dirty. While the sneak attack is a little boring, offering a mage a fair fight only gives them a bigger target apparently. Still I wonder how melee guys do it. I've never really put my mind to a Tank build though. Some of the reading I've done suggests stacking up resistance buffs and just sponging up the damage while closing the distance with haste. The seemingly endless magicka pool is something I've noticed, even with NPCs I've made in the ck. I've purposely nerfed their magicka so they couldn't spam spells and it seems to have no effect. I agree that frost magic is the most deadly. It's like being hit with a concentration cast paralyze spell. Not much you can do once you're caught in it. It's looking like going toe to toe with a powerful mage successfully is more about the passive defences and the right equipment. I guess it's sort of "realistic". Chances are if one were to run into a fellow, IRL, that could shoot a snowstorm out of the palm of his/her hand, death would be the probable outcome.
  19. During my adventures in Skyrm I have found that the most diffecult enemies to battle are mages. Once one has a bead on me that health bar doesn't seem to last long. Even with magical resistance. Now I use a bow primarily and one handed or duel wield for when the battle gets close. I don't really use offensive magic much at all. Typically I prefer to take a mage out before they know I'm there. But one can't always count on that, especially if it's a group of them. I'm not sure how strict melee players manage against them at all. I know something like Spellbreaker helps, and there are plenty of perks that offer protection, but I'm more interested in hearing about combat tactics rather than buffs. Anyone feel like sharing?
  20. Indeed! I too, would like to express my gratitude for the useful modding tools you have shared with us. I don't think modding would anywhere near as fun or easy without them.
