  1. That's the way it works with every other collection system...... Fail to understand why it needs to be different here.
  2. Open and honest?? Really? This is why mod authors found out about these changes by accident? They were never informed this was coming, they were never consulted. The mod pack tool devs were though. That doesn't seem very open, or honest to me. It looks more like a deliberate act to possibly prevent some authors from removing their work before it was implemented. While that may not have been your *real* reason behind it, it sure has that appearance...... Basically, Nexus just took a dump on the very people they need to supply content. Shooting yourself in the foot doesn't strike me as a good business decision......
  3. He is making money from it being here. Not 'selling' per se, but, monetizing nonetheless. And what would call what he is doing? It's like 'loaning' something to someone, and then they tell you they are never going to give it back. Sounds like 'ownership' to me. Or theft...... No matter how you slice it, it most certainly appears unethical to me.
  4. Maybe not in so many words, but, not allowing us to delete our own mods??? What else would you call it?
  5. Actually, according to the CK EULA, beth can do anything they want with your mods, without so much as a by-your-leave. And they have. :D Of course, they have also hired talented modders as well.
  6. Stop trying to find holes in this incredibly well designed system. A "well designed" system wouldn't need to step on mod authors rights.......
  7. :D Interesting idea. I think the biggest problem would be getting them to your building site. And, of course, you have the physics issues.... they likely won't stack neatly, and will tend to fall over when someone sneezes.....
  8. Won't work. That would exclude the majority of mods here on the site, as a fair few authors are no longer active. There won't be an opt-out option either. That would defeat the purpose of collections.
  9. If free users can access files through collections traditionally (going to mod author's pages, what is stopping them from taking the link and sharing it? It has been stated previously that only Premium members will be able to access the pages through Vortex. Yes, free users could if they know the unique codes for the mod. For the free users, they will still have access to the archived mods, they just get handed a download link to click on. Simple matter to copy the link, and then post it wherever. Though, why someone would go to the trouble to do so, when the current version obviously isn't archived, is beyond me.
  10. Might try logging out, and then logging back in as well.
  11. Do you have a save from before you went in there?
  12. I am not so sure about that.... It used to be, that the 'kids' would be outside in the summer..... but, not so much any more. They are all out of school now, so, time to mod their games? :) Valid point. Guess I am still not used to them having more than one "major" title. :D Even though they have for quite a while now. I would like to think that one of the reasons beth games are so popular, is because of modability..... but, I haven't seen any recent stats for how many folks actually mod their games.. Granted, we have a selection of mods here with MILLIONS of downloads, which is probably still only 10% of sales though...... (or less....)
  13. I am sure there is a LOT going on behind the scenes that only staff are aware of. That just goes without saying. I think it would be interesting to be a fly on the wall in Nexus offices. :D Forwards controversial stuff in summer??? I don't understand. I don't think for the next round of beth games, MS is going to change much. Highly likely they will be moddable, and beth will release the CK, or whatever its called for the next iteration of games..... I would like to think they have already been in development for a while, even before MS acquisition..... But, maybe I am being overly optimistic. :D Wouldn't be the first time. It IS getting on toward time for another TES game though. After all, Skyrim (LE) released 10 years ago. They don't usually go that long between major releases.....
  14. No 'roos here... but, we do have deer..... and they travel in packs..... If you see one in the road, there is likely three or twelve more off the road, getting ready to cross it. And they are stupid. They see a car coming, and stop. Right in the path of the huge metal object barrelling down on them at 50 plus miles per hour... and yeah, they do some serious damage..... Body shops love 'em. :D Not quite ice, but close. (if it's actual ice, we call it 'hail', and that crap can HURT! Not to mention what it does to your car...... makes it look more like a golf ball.) And then there is the freezing rain..... EVERYTHING gets a nice coating of ice..... which is heavy.... so trees tend to drop branches, sometimes, very LARGE branches..... At a previous residence, the place had sat empty for a few years, and the yard was pretty nasty. (3 acres of it.) So, I spent my first summer there, clearing the brush, cleaning up the dead branches everywhere, piles of trash, etc. and mowing the grass down from it's 2 foot height. By fall, the yard looked pretty nice. One ice storm, and it looked like I hadn't done a darn thing.... except the grass was shorter. Still looked like a friggin war zone, with all the trees and branches that fell. I was NOT a happy camper. :D
  15. Thank you. :D and: Yessir, workin' on that now sir. :D
  16. Thank you for the clarification.
  17. LOLOL. Yeah, Ok. I have no farking clue why I couldn't find that. It has always been a struggle for me to remember where the heck that is. Thanks. :D Edit: How the heck do I get to that???? (must be too early in the morning....)
  18. Not sure what you mean. GMAD has always required 1000 downloads to join. As far as I know, you don't need 1000 downloads to request that your mod be deleted. I suspect that Authors that DON'T have 1000 downloads, and thus, are not considered 'authors' here, didn't get the email...... Don't know for sure though.
  19. OK, they're already leaving, and people like you are going to do  because all the mods you use are gone. Thanks for showing us Mod Authors what entitled people you are. I've contributed to this site than you ever will, I have plenty of mods uploaded, and all you've contributed to this site is toxicity, and attack modders and whine like the entitled person you are. :golfclap: I'm just going to block you now, because it's a real waste of time interacting with someone like you. Enjoy your vacuum. Again why do you assume everyone is just like you? Not all modders will leave and the ones that are I do not know (did they make skimpy clothing or something???) cause I haven't clue. All you have done is insult me while I keep saying I hope the modders enjoy their lives. You really have odd perspective of "toxicity" Yes , when all the insults and toxicity fail you block. I would point out that this very thread is a fine demonstration of toxicity. (which YOU started.) Modders make mods for free, they share them because they want to. It is THEIR work, and THEY should be the ones that decides what happens with it. Doesn't that seem reasonable? And now, we have Nexus telling authors that, once they upload their mod here, its forever. They cannot remove it, regardless of the reason they want to. Maybe there is a bug, or assets they shouldn't have used, or a host of other reasons, but now, they can't. The WAY this was implement is the major bone of contention. This is something that happened in the background, and mod authors only discovered it when one of them tried to delete a couple mistaken uploads, and couldn't. He requested they be deleted by staff, and was refused....... That doesn't sit well with the folks that actually OWN the work.
  20. Found this: Special dialogue options are available if one has the Robotics Expert perk. This allows the player character to access the employee menu of the robots and obtain each number of the combination to the safe in order to acquire the key to Mad Mulligans mine. Wonder if maybe the script that checks for the perk screwed up.... Are the robots all shut down?? Might try opening the console, clicking on one, and typing in recycleactor. See if that gets their attention. Aside from that, I am just not finding much on this one.
  21. Snow: Funky white stuff (partially frozen water) that falls out of the sky instead of rain, during certain periods of the year. Makes driving SO much fun. :D Tends to accumulate as well. Sometimes to pretty significant depths. One of the reasons I have a four wheel drive truck.... I hate shoveling snow....... Summers here have gotten a LOT hotter... It used to be, we would have a week or so of 90 plus temps toward the end of August, of late, we get 80s and 90s as early as mid June...... I think I preferred the weather we got back in the 60's and 70's...... Though, we did get a LOT more snow then......
  22. Not sure what's up here, but, at one point, in my Nexus Mods profile (on the mods side), the dropdown when I clicked on my avatar had "My Mods", that seems to have fallen off. Also, on my profile page there, there was an "Other Files" tab, and Advanced Magecraft for Oblivion was listed there. That entire tab no longer shows in my profile. I am still 'admin' (or whatever) on AM. Any idea what happened there?
  23. Short sighted is putting it mildly. Makes ya wonder about folks that live below sea level, have been flooded out more times than I can count, yet continue to rebuild after each flood.... The climate IS going to change, no matter what we do at this point, so, we can adapt, or, we can die. Granted, moving all those coastal cities is not a minor undertaking...... but, it's gonna have to happen at some point.
  24. Trouble is, the bulk of mod authors aren't active on the site any longer, so, a lot of material will remain. And some of the more 'download generating' authors aren't going to want to move their stuff, because of all the downloads they have gotten here.... Makes 'em 'famous'... or something. Don't expect a mass migration away from Nexus. Sure, some will leave, but, most will stay, and Nexus will continue doing what they are doing, and be very much assured they can do whatever they want, and no one can stop them.
