Personally, I don't think Fallout 76 has much consequence to the modding community, considering how beth is treating mods for the game. But then, the game was a disaster from the get go. Even worse than usual for beth. 76 was a money grab, pure and simple. My guess is, it worked, but, not nearly so well as beth hoped.

If you are starting a new game, you can reshuffle your mods to your hearts content, BEFORE you start the game. :)

Advanced Recon and Neck Cover (by Gopher) Compiled to One Mod

Why not ask Gopher to do it? Or at least, if he would, or alternatively, allow someone else to. -
Shutting down your PC or just Sleep Mode
HeyYou replied to hubbards98's topic in Hardware and software discussion
My gf is wondering about the source for your claim friend. I was wondering if you could enlighten us to it :D When windows goes into hibernation, it writes pretty much everything in RAM, to the disk, so when you wake it up, the machine is in the same state as when you left. That can be a fair bit of data. On older SSD's, I can see how that might potentially cause issues, but, the technology has improved dramatically over the years, and today, I don't think it matters at all. My biggest thing with hibernation is, windows does not always recover nicely. For a while, some laptops wouldn't wake up out of hibernation....... some windows update broke it. Supposedly, they fixed that...... but, I still see them every now and again. And in that same vein, lets talk about Windows "Fast Start". A 'feature' of win 10. If it is enabled, your machine never really shuts down, when you tell it to, it actually goes into a state very similar to hibernation, as in, it writes everything in RAM to the HDD, so when you 'restart', it looks just like it did when you shut it down. Not really a fan of that particular trick, so, on my machines, I usually turn it off. -
Motivations of people that play with mods
HeyYou replied to minime453's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
I just want to point out that, while you may think Bethesda is trying to make something for you specifically, that's untrue, obviously. They offer an experience, they offer a game, and in their wisdom and grace they also say, if you don't like what we offer, we also offer the tool to help you tailor your experience as well. Just be sure you remember that tidbit. Bethesda is the only company that does this. Not even CDPR developed their devtools for Witcher 3, they're barebones. That's why I mod by the way. I mod at any chance given to me. If a game is gracious enough to allow me into the files and let me tweak, I instantly do so. I am not one of these puritans who wants or even has the time anymore to experience a game at it's own pace. Once I find the games systems, loops and mechanics, I understand overall what the game will be 1 hour in and 100 hours in. So I play as much as I can, as much as I want, and drop it. Lots of games to play, lots of life to live, but at the end of the day, Fallout 4/Skyrim/Bethesda Games have always drawn me back in with the constant tinkering I can do inside of them. I work in CG, and trouble shooting issues on a daily basis is a fun thing to do. Some other people work as Generalists, who just kind of shift between departments, from modeling, surfacing, animation, rigging, etc, usually bug fixing. I kind of like that work ethic, just kind of looking at a list of what needs doing, and doing what you feel like that day, modding is similar. It's satisfying when you solve a problem. I am well aware that beth isn't making the games for me specifically, that's why I find it necessary to mod the games..... -
Yer gonna like it. :D Have fun with it. :)

Thank you for perfectly illustrating my point. You do not have a clue. It seems that you couldn't get clue, even if you stood in field of clues, drowned in clue musk, giving the clue mating call. You have no idea what you are talking about. You are simply spouting off what you have been indoctrinated with. Your handlers should be proud.

I would like to think that even Beth isn't that stupid. Free mods is the REASON their games have been so long-lived. If they do away with free mods, they will lose their modding community, and some customers for their games. Including their main audience, console players. The console players are now buying beth games BECAUSE they can get free mods.

Beth is all about making money, that's what the creation club was for. No idea how well that is working out for them...... As for the 'free' mods..... Xbox has pretty free reign on what they can add to their game, limited only by the amount of space Microsoft allows them to use for 'third party content'. No real idea just why MS put such a restriction in place though..... Hardware related? No clue. PS/4, on the other hand, is severely restricted on what free mods they can use. (and also have a limited amount of space for them.) But, again, those restrictions are in place from Sony. So, PS/4 only gets .esp/.esm mods. No additional assets allowed. THAT puts a severe restriction on just what they can do. Neither of those situations does beth have any control over. From my perspective, I think the console players are just happy to have ANY modding capability at all. I am sure the PS/4 folks would dearly love for Sony to relax the restrictions some... (quite a bit....) but, as it hasn't happened yet, I am not holding my breath that it ever will. Beth will never allow Nexus to sell mods, regardless of the source of the content. It is my understanding that MS, and Sony, won't allow their consoles to download from third party sites either, only directly from the game publisher. So, while Nexus likely wouldn't mind getting that opportunity, I don't see it happening. Ever. :D That said, Nexus does a MUCH better job of hosting, and supporting mod authors. Beth has been improving, but, when you start at the very bottom of the barrel, improvement really isn't all that hard to come by. Don't recall if I have said it before in this thread.... but, Beths original site for forums/hosting was absolutely terrible. Three teenagers with a zero dollar budget could have done a better job. (and they have.....)

If they weren't oppressed by a dictator supported by the US government or any other government, if the bosses didn't loot their country's wealth while turning the fertile soils into deserts through the intensive monocultures filled with pesticides many persons woud stay in their country istead of immigrating to the US or anywhere else. So they immigrate to the very country they blame for all their problems? In what world does that make any sense at all? Like I explained on the previous page and you don't have any argument to oppose me. I see you have as much honesty as you have courage ; that's to say none. I don't need an argument to oppose you. It is patently obvious that you have never been here, and don't have the first clue what life is like here. You likely base all your opinions (and that is ALL they are) on what you read in whatever extreme left-wing rags you subscribe to. You have nothing to back up your 'arguments', just your most certainly biased opinions. Stop your pathetic bull$hit comedy, if you're so sure to be right show me an american law that forces the american bosses to apply their work-related laws abroad like in the maquiladoras for example. You so funny..... :) Corporations have to abide by the laws of the countries that they are operating in. If some country or other doesn't have much in the way of worker protections, then guess what, the workers aren't really protected. And it isn't just american corporations doing it either. ALL of them do. Free Trade agreements aren't really 'free'. Here at home, we have a pretty significant population of illegal immigrants coming from those countries that you accuse us of 'exploiting'.... (and you aren't far from the mark there, I'll give you that.) The illegals don't get the protections offered by the law, as they are, by definition, outside the law already. So, employers go to where these folks congregate, looking for work, and hire them on the spot, at wages far lower than what a legal citizen would get. They also don't get OSHA protections, workmans comp, or insurance on the job either. And for the most part, they don't pay taxes either. They are paid cash. Completely off the books. End result? They are exploited here, just like they were at home. Plus, they get the added bonus of pissing off the LEGAL workers, whose jobs they are taking.

Good money sink? Equipment degradation? Broken loots?
HeyYou replied to Kreyd's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
I remember seeing a mod that added weapon/armor degradation, but, it was a beta release, had some interesting requirements, and wasn't the most stable....... No idea if they are still working on it or not. (I seem to recall it hadn't been updated for quite some time.....) Beth games are notorious for making it very easy to get incredibly rich...... All the way back to Morrowind. (and maybe even earlier.....) So far, I haven't seen any mods designed as money pits for FO4. -
Brand doesn't really matter. Crucial, Sony, Samsung, Western Digital are all pretty decent. If you customize the machine when you order it, the manufacturer will install the right stuff, and you can be assured it will be compatible.

I think we can all agree that covid is out there, it is spreading, and that it can kill...... To deny it, is just a bit disingenuous....... The news is filled with it, from both sides. (and rarely do they all agree on anything at all, even what color grass is...) As for 'prevention measures', staying away from everyone else is likely the most effective. If you aren't near anyone that is infected, then you are not real likely to contract it. Right? Now, avoiding ALL human interaction would be difficult, if not impossible..... at least, not for months on end. (unless you wanna do subsistence living out the woods, or some such.) Not to mention that some human interaction is required for our society to continue operating..... Wearing a mask? Just is still out on that one. It sure can't hurt though..... I keep seeing different opinions on gloves though... Some claim they help, others claim they don't, still others claim they actually INCREASE your odds of contracting it.... Seems odd, but, I haven't dug too far into that one.... At this point, we are still pretty much in the early stages of the pandemic. We won't know the true cost for some time yet. If we don't find a vaccine, we will continue paying the cost until the virus dies out naturally. Or, we will be stuck with it for the foreseeable future.... I don't recall seeing anything at all about a preventative measure that was truly effective. (aside from hiding at home, and not seeing anyone....) I saw a lot of rumors, and then I saw a lot of articles claiming it was misinformation. (and Trump REALLY isn't helping on that front.....) I also hear rumors of various companies selling vaccines...... Yet I haven't seen anything at all about their effectiveness, or even what testing they have gone thru. Folks seem to be spending huge piles of money on it though.... (well, governments, and corporations.....) What's the truth? I sure don't know. Not like I trust ANY of the mainstream media outlets........

Place Everywhere shouldn't have anything to do with it...... It's only really active when you are in build mode. I would more suspect there is a conflict between it, and one of your other FOSE plugins.

Ask yourself why we aren't stopping the spread. It's not because quarantines don't work, it's because we waited way to late to start quarantining. The president you elected, decided that instead of quarantining all of the countries that were affected by Covid, he was only going to quarantine China, for basically political reasons. That came back to bite us because as it turns out most of the spreading in America came from those returning from or touring from Europe. Then in month between banning Europe after banning China we did absolutely nothing, implemented no quarantines, and just let it spread. The whole point of an effective quarantine is to do it ASAP and be strict about. It's effectiveness is only as good as its implementation. We implemented it poorly and thus it isn't working out well. But here's the cool thing, we can see the data for this stuff in real time, and you know what that data shows us. States that practiced heavier and stricter quarantine and lockdowns ended up reducing both the spread and cases of the disease. Like, just read the news and follow the data, everything you need to know about how effective quarantine and lockdown is can be inferred from there. About your second point, yes. That's the unfortunate side effect of a global pandemic, people and businesses are going to suffer. But you know what? Recovery is going to happen, it's a given. Will it take time? Yes. Will some people be left worst off financially than before? Yes. But economies can be fixed, you know what's permanent? Death. You're also acting like the unemployment extras are going to continue after Covid is no longer considered a pandemic and people are are able to get back to work. It's not a permanent thing, it's a temporary solution to people unable to work or fired during a national pandemic so that they can still provide for their families. Acting like people are suddenly not going to want to continue working just because they are collecting unemployment is a disingenuous argument with no data backing it up. The whole reason that extra money was given is because typical unemployment benefits received were way to low to help people affected by the pandemic. So yes, in some cases people are going to make more money than they did in their regular jobs, but this PUA is temporary, it was going to end in July but got extended to January (I think), these people aren't going to be able to rely on it forever. But just taking it away will probably have a higher negative impact on the economy than keeping it going a while longer. And I haven't heard the fat lady sing yet. We are still right in the middle of the pandemic. Sure, quarantines SLOW the spread of the disease, but, will never STOP it. The disease isn't going to go away either. When quarantine is lifted/relaxed, we are going to see the numbers go up again. We still don't have a vaccine. In the end, the same number of folks are going to be infected. By slowing the spread, we *might* save a few lives.... but, that is one of those things we will never be able to measure. Trump is talking about signing an order to extend the unemployment benefits thru the end of the year. Then what? We are still going to be in the midst of the pandemic, and folks still won't be going back to work. Will they get extended again? And once the quarantine is lifted, how many of those folks are actually going to have jobs to go back to? The current unemployment rate is north of 13%.... which is significantly higher than it was during 'the great recession of 07-09... (10.6%) Do I have a solution? Nope. Should we drop the quarantine now, and try and save what's left of our economy? Probably not a good idea..... So, where does that leave us? Essentially, we get to look forward to a recovery from a downturn worse than the great recession. Once some of the measures preventing banks/landlords from filing on all those folks that haven't been paying rent/mortgage payments....... things are going to get even worse.... It will make the bursting of the housing bubble back in 08 look like a party in the park. (hopefully, everyone will be wearing their masks......) Yep. It's gonna suck. It will likely take years to recover, and that assumes we don't get another round of covid. (we REALLY need a vaccine....) So, prepare now, and be ready for what we KNOW is coming.

your memory configuration seems to be suboptimal. for full speed you need a pair of same sized and compatible memory banks. but even with this configuration sse will run at least in fullhd Gotta agree with this assessment. Go for two 8 gig sticks.

Yes, it will run the game quite well, if you want it to run even better, opt for a larger NVME drive, and install your games there as well. (just, NOT in the Program Files folders......) NVME are SCREAMIN' fast. :D In Oldrim, there are virtually NO loading screens on interior/exterior switch, it happens in just a few seconds. It's awesome. I wish I could same the same for FO4...... but, it just can't seem to manage it.
-
But we HAVEN'T stopped it from spreading. The numbers are still off the board. I note that the republican convention was blames for a spike in numbers, but, no one talks about what is happening after all the protest marches. Isn't that interesting. We CAN'T stop the spread. We can slow it down some, and that's it. And maybe not even that........ We are still going to end up with the same number of infections. We *might* reduce the body count some, but, that is the best we can hope for. The whole idea behind the quarantine/lockdown/whathaveyou was to SLOW the spread, so hospitals weren't overwhelmed with patients all at once. Currently, we don't have a vaccine, so, slowing the spread is ALL we can do. Of course, by doing so, we are doing horrid things to our economy...... there are going to be a large number of businesses that simply don't re-open when all is said and done. Recovery is going to take YEARS. Not to mention what it's doing to the national debt....... Although, I really didn't see the point of giving everyone on unemployment an extra 600 bucks a WEEK.... For a significant percentage of them, they are making more on unemployment, than they were when they were working.... What motivation are they going to have to actually go back to work, once the opportunity presents itself? Heck, I don't make 2400 dollars a month...... I would LOVE to be able to collect unemployment. (my job was considered 'essential', so, I still have work once in a while. But, I was part time anyway, so, I don't think I qualified. ) For what it's worth, I don't think Donnie is very bright, or very presidential either. I still liked him better than Hilary........ and that is the ONLY reason I voted for him. But, folks here seem to only believe in black and white. You either hate him with every fiber of your being, or, you are a 'worshiper'..... No middle ground at all. One of the reasons that 'debates' here, never turn out well.

The Secrets to Un-Bloating Windows 10 64
HeyYou replied to xInfaRedx's topic in Hardware and software discussion
Windows 10 is spyware masquerading as an operating system. :) It serves a secondary purpose as adware, if you leave all the MS bloatware intact. (advertisements in the start menu? Seriously??) I REALLY don't care for MS just shoving their stupid games onto me either. Candy crush? C'mon MS, if I want your software, I will go looking for it, do NOT force it on me.- 20 replies

If you read what I actually wrote, instead of interpreting it with your "Dem Goggles", that automatically assumes that I 200% support everything trump does, and believes he can do no wrong....... Maybe we could actually have a discussion here. But no. You need to read your liberal talking points into everything I type, it's actually pointless to continue. So, I'm not going to.

It really doesn't matter who is in the whitehouse. This particular virus kills people, regardless of their political affiliation. Woodrow Wilson (a democrat) was president when the spanish flu took a bite out of the population. In two waves. And in all reality, Trump could have locked down the entire country, told everyone to stay at home, disallowed any travel, or social gatherings, and what would have been the result? The virus would have been contained, until the lockdown was lifted.... and then it would spread, just like it is now. Lockdowns, social distancing, etc, aren't really going to make that much difference in the long run. The disease isn't going to magically disappear, it is going to run it's course, regardless. The only thing we are changing is the timeline. We are simply delaying the inevitable. That's it.
