Microphone Picking Up Output Audio
HeyYou replied to RobinHood2005's topic in Hardware and software discussion
That's a software issue. Or more likely, drivers. According to theory, the mic should know what the speakers are putting out, and ignore it. (or, the software filters it out, one way or the other....) What can you do about it? Not a clue. -
Didn't someone come up with a fix for the cell reset bug???? I seem to remember something about that.

Cleaning a Mechanical Keyboard
HeyYou replied to RobinHood2005's topic in Hardware and software discussion
The method I detailed doesn't require any disassembly. That's the method I use at work to clean used keyboards. And I do anywhere from 20, to 50 at a time..... :D -
Cleaning a Mechanical Keyboard
HeyYou replied to RobinHood2005's topic in Hardware and software discussion
I use Fantastic, a scrub brush, and compressed air. (from an air compressor, not a can.) Spray it with fantastic, scrub it gently in a couple different directions, then use the air to blow out the crap, and dry it off. They look new when done, and doesn't damage the keyboard. -
I have no idea what you are trying to say there.

Right, and the groups numbering in the thousands coming up thru mexico is a "decline"...... Sure. Right. However, of late, Mexico has actually been doing something about it, and may actually reduce the numbers. Not holding my breath though. Switching to carbon free, or dramatically reducing CO2 contributions, will ONLY have an impact if EVERYONE does it. If the US, Europe are the only participants, and the rest of the world continues on their merry way, then all we will accomplish is destroying our economies, and climate change will continue at it's current pace. Of course, climate change is going to continue regardless.... it's what it does. Nothing is static. We can adapt, or, we can die. Those are the choices.

The wall actually does provide some physical security, as opposed to having nothing there at all. It does serve a purpose, maybe not perfectly, but, it is indeed better than nothing. As for Global Warming, Climate Change, or whatever you want to call it..... We could stop producing CO2 completely here, and it wouldn't make any difference whatsoever, aside from doing horrible things to our economy.... So long as we have China, India, and a whole host of third-world "developing" nations, that simply will not take the same extreme measures, any effort we make will be futile. The climate changes. THAT is a FACT. It really doesn't matter if industrialized man is around or not. The climate will continue to change, whether we are here, or not.... We can't stop it. We likely can't even slow it down. There are simply too many other factors that folks ignore, as they don't fit with their narrative. (like volcanism under that poles, etc. contributing to the ice melt.) CO2 is only one factor in the equation, and we don't even know what the entire equation looks like. Campaign finance reform, and simply 'campaign reform', are two things that REALLY need to happen. The Citizens United decision was the worst thing that could happen to our government as far as the average citizen is concerned. Big money decides who runs, and who gets elected. The whole "Best government money can buy." thing, rings VERY true. Of course, the only way either of those can change, would by the actions of the very same people that benefit the most from NOT changing them. So, don't expect anything to change, short of a second civil war, and tossing all those idiots out on their duff. Of course, that is unlikely to happen as well. It would be too much effort.

I got myself a good'ol case of nobody knows this bug.
HeyYou replied to Joezone173's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim SE
What mods are you running? Would be interesting to open them all up in SEEdit, and see which mods, if any, are affecting that particular spell. -
It means that those mods were originally made for Skyrim, and haven't been updated for Skyrim SE. You can fix that with SEEdit, (xedit, you can download from nexus) not sure of the exact procedure though.

Descent Freespace 2 for free on GOG for the next few days
HeyYou replied to HadToRegister's topic in PC Gaming
I loved the Wind Commander series of games. Good story, interesting flight mechanics, challenging missions, etc. Those are the games that prompted me to spend money on flight controls. :) (programmable ones at that.) Anyone else remember the 15 pin "game port" on sound cards? :D -
No. It won't. If you sign on using a microsoft account, or any other variety of account that contacts some other computer for authentication, it won't work. Of course, there are other workarounds for that scenario. :D

Should post this in the FO4 mod requests forum......

Changing Game Resolution on a Widescreen Monitor
HeyYou replied to Deleted74538193User's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
You can specify a custom resolution in the skyrim.ini, located in your documents\my games\skyrim folder. Just set it to what you want, start the game, and you should be golden. -
This is an excellent response. :) I wholeheartedly concur. Why is it, that no one can do anything for themselves? What I find REALLY disheartening, is even in settlements with a defense value approaching 100, they STILL whine about raiders/ghouls/supermutants/whathaveyou coming and attacking them. Even though they have enough firepower to hold off an army...... and that is without the settlers even needing to put on their armor. Bunch of useless wimps.

Depends on where I am going, why I am going there, and how I am getting there. I HATE flying, unless I am the one at the controls. I have a very hard time handing the responsibility for my health and well being to some guy I don't know, and likely won't even see........ The train isn't so bad. So long as I am not facing backward in relation to direction of travel. Bus? Nope. Not gonna. Notta chance. Hitchhiking? Did a bunch of that when I was younger. Too old for that kind of behavior now. Driving? Sure. Why not. I have driven into Canada, and Mexico, (via Texas.....) Needs to be a comfy car though. (which is a rather broad term.... if the car is fun to drive, that makes up for a lot.) These days though, I go to work, I go home. That's about it.

Probably run SE pretty well, as for the others, no clue on that. Don't know enough about them. I really don't care for 1tb HDD's though. They are notoriously slow, and unreliable. (unless you spend serious money on the drive.) I run a 250gb SSD for the O/S, and other programs, and have a 500gb SSD for games. I really like the performance improvement ya get from the SSD.... Which is why ALL the computers in my house now run solely ssd drives.

I wish, if someone would take the time to comment on another post, they would direct it towards the person who posted it. I'm going to interpret it as a 'general' statement. The "no more accuracy" obviously applies to the dems, that appeal to emotion, and have very few fact-based arguments. They want to do something (anything) simply for the sake of 'doing something'. Even if what they want to do won't make any difference whatsoever. Sometimes, (frequently) doing something just for the sake of appearing to be 'doing something', is worse than not doing anything at all.....

IsSneaking IS the right one......

So you're saying when people age enough to realize what the hell is going on they should just keep their mouth shut? If you're going to censor it would be better to do it when people are young and ignorant. Seconded. :D Now they are taking polls of teens, to get their opinions on world events, and such. Seems to me, asking folks with very little, if any, life experience to make decisions affecting the direction of our country is just farking stupid. We also have teens 'vowing' not to have kids until we do something about climate change. Personally, I think there are too many folks on the planet to begin with, so, NOT producing more little snowflakes seems like a good plan to me. Of course, that won't stop the folks that we really DON'T want reproducing from doing so......

Are you using the Dwarven Black Weapons mod?
-
The biggest problem is, we have several different sides, and they each have their own idea of how to 'fix' them. Most of which, are diametrically opposed..... I think it would be more accurate to say they want to fix others. They have their own version of paradise they just want others to acknowledge their version and get in goosestep right behind their banner. Yeah, that sounds pretty accurate. :)
