If I found out I had lung cancer, why then, would I quit smoking at that point, the proverbial horse is already out of the barn. If I am going to die, might just as well be from something I enjoy. Aside from the minor detail of being diagnosed with cancer is pretty much fact, meanwhile, back at the ranch, global warming is still just a theory, and a rather controversial one at that. If someone put forth a theory that the sun may explode in the next century, would you advise us all to start digging shelters? Now, I will grant you that reducing our CO2 output wouldn't be a bad thing, IF it was approached logically, and we took steps that actually made sense, and wouldn't destroy our economy...... but, the terms "Logically" and "makes sense" have absolutely no business in politics....... and this IS a political issue. Plain and simple.

That assumes that we CAN prevent it..... The climate has been changing for billions of years before industrialized man was on the scene. We are NOT the sole cause.... we don't even know if we are a PRIMARY cause..... to think that we can change/stop/prevent it, assumes a great deal.

When you click on a download link, it should pop up a little window that asks if you want to open (with a drop down for which program to open it with), or save...... (In IE, it would be a bar at the bottom, with a couple buttons.)

I am curious where this "evidence" is....... Isn't 'evidence' usually equated with 'proof'? We have theories of cause and effect. Of course, we have alternate theories that are just as likely to be true. One fact remains. The climate changes. We can adapt, or we can die. Those are the choices.

Global Warming makes for a great 'chicken little' scenario......
-
The first article explains nothing. Simply another theory why the earth isn't warming 'as fast'. The second article assumes a much larger consensus amongst scientist than actually exists. it is more than a little biased. The 'clean energy' claim is a myth. Sure, once completed, windmills and solar panels are 'green'. The problem comes from their manufacture. Have a closer look at some of the materials that go into them, and what has to be done to refine those materials, and the whole 'green' aspect changes significantly. Also, I would point out that wind power is not precisely reliable.... therefore, some variety of back up is required. And what does that backup usually consist of? Diesel Generators...... that's really green...... 'Nother question I have is: Why is it, that in locales where windmills are installed, the price of electricity goes UP????? That one absolutely baffles me. Why is the antarctic ice increasing? (at record levels?) If you think all these 'research institutions' are being forthright, and honest, then you REALLY need to take a look at where their money is coming from. For an interesting comparison, I invite you to have a look at just why the US government refused to finance ANY kind of gun research AT ALL. (not making better ones, but, their impact on society.) If you think some organization, no matter what it is, isn't going to be motivated to come up with "findings" that support the position the folks writing the checks favor..... Well, I have some really nice ocean-front property in Nevada I would like to sell you.

Gently there. I am a denier. Sorta.... but, I also have 8 years of schooling on this particular topic. It has already been shown that several "respected" institutions doing research on climate change, have knowingly falsified data, left out data that didn't fit with what they were attempting to prove, have altered HISTORICAL data, (and were caught at it in very short order), and have been using the same 'computer models' to 'guesstimate' historical temps (before record keeping) that so far, have been unable to make a single accurate prediction. Not to mention... the "average global temperature" has risen a bit over 1.5 degrees in 100 and some odd years..... but, it hasn't increased a noticeable amount in 15 years or so..... all the while, CO2 content has still been increasing. In all reality, a difference of 1.5 degrees, is within the margin of error of the instruments used to determine the temps....... (consider, instrumentation has gotten a LOT more accurate since the late 1800's, when records were first started.) Also, we were coming out of the 'mini ice age' toward the end of the 1800's as well..... In the end, there is one irrefutable fact. The climate changes. Doesn't matter if industrialized man is around or not. So, IS the climate changing? To a point. I am seeing weather here more typical of what it was like back in the 70's. These are the Michigan winters I got used to when I was growing up. (which are more severe than they have been lately....) Is man having an effect? Maybe. That's the best I can give it. According to some accounts (peer reviewed, published, etc) CO2 increase FOLLOWED temp change in times past. Which kinda blows some holes in the 'cause/effect' thing, that the global warmists are pointing at today.

Some democratic measure passed at the STATE level. It's the federal level that folks are beginning to have issues with. (and showing it.) Voter turnout has never been all that good, if you break 40% in a mid term election, you are doing good. At this point, I suspect most folks don't vote, simply because they realize their vote really doesn't change anything. We still see pretty much the same things happening, just a different crowd doing them. This time around, I believe the backlash was more to stop obama from doing more stupid stuff...... but, that doesn't appear to have worked..... he is still being stupid.

The midterm elections certainly were NOT a mandate for republican policies..... they were a mandate AGAINST Democratic policies. Given some of the stuff the ol' Barack is doing at the moment, he is going to seriously annoy a significant percentage of the population. That is NOT going to bode well for the dems election prospects come 2016. Sure, we have a couple years yet, and the repubbies have the opportunity to truly stuff things up, and move opinion the other way.... if they can avoid doing something stupid, and they actually put up a candidate worth voting for..... the Pres will make sure we have a republican victory then....... I don't quite get WHY the pres is shooting himself in the foot with an RPG here..... the majority of americans DO NOT want amnesty, or whatever you want to call it for illegals, they want them gone, and our borders secured. No one in the democratic party seems to be able to get that thru their head though......
-
2016 depends a lot on just who the republicans run for president....... I voted for Obama the last time, because he was the lesser of two evils...... if they run romney again, I will gain vote democrat. (but, I will do my best to make sure the repubbies hold the house and senate.....) This year, people weren't voting FOR the republicans, they were voting AGAINST the democrats.....

Skyrim lag with texture and graphical mods
HeyYou replied to duffman9465's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Your video card simply is not up to the task of texture packs. -
Supposed to be in the 40's and 50's this weekend. (GLOBAL WARMING!!!! GLOBAL WARMING!!!) Of course, it is also supposed to rain all weekend. I won't mind overmuch, it will make a nice change from the barely double-digit temps we have been having this week...... and all the snow/ice around will melt. Barely a dusting of snow on the ground here.... but, some of the dirt roads are quite interesting.......

Come clean? A politician? I think that's against the rules. I think if I ever saw a politician give a straight, honest answer to an uncomfortable question, I would probably fall over dead from a heart attack.

Missing master crash. Check and be sure you have all the requirements for mods you recently installed, and recheck load order.

Tools or tips to help install mods easier/properly?
HeyYou replied to Bahamut185's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Discussion
Any mods that have a specific order they need to be installed in, will mention that in the readme. For the most part, it really only matters with mods that "do the same thing"... Like texture mods, that may change textures on the same objects. The one installed LAST, wins. I think NMM will warn you about overwrites though, won't it?? (I don't use it, so, don't have a clue. :) ) Are you using a tool to combine leveled lists? (Wrye Bash?) If not, then you need to. (And I think WB does a better job than FNVEdit.... but, not 100% on that.) Hope your day goes well too. :D -
I live out in the sticks, so, I just let the leaves blow into the fields around the house. No leaf raking here. :) (not that I would anyway, run 'em over with the mower, and call it a day. :) )

What else is running in the background? Something is causing it to hang......

How long are you letting it sit? Even on my quad core, with 4 gig of ram, it takes a couple minutes to start..... Also, is your anti-virus running in the background? That may annoy it too...
