  1. Its an engine bug. Anytime control is forcibly taken from the player, generally, dialog, the mode will switch states. Been a problem since release. Doubt Beth will do anything about it.
  2. I don't think that is necessarily the case...... Given the circumstance: I need to go to work. Under your supposition, I would drive the exact same route every day. Now, more often than not, yes, that would more than likely be the case, but, what if I am tired of that particular bit of scenery one day? I would take a different route...... There are many permutations of any given situation, where we can exercise choice. Someones MOOD would be sufficient to alter their response.
  3. That would depend on what their motivations were. A good world war is useful for population control after all.
  4. Hey don't forget If you buy cheap gold now from some places you get a free 15 kilogram "Anti-Theft Safety Box" so you can store and secure your gold in. Which ironically is small enough for anyone really wanting to steal something could just actually take and lift the entire safety box by hand with not much of a hassle. :D Edit: Honestly if it ever came down to where the US dollar was completely worthless, it would have so much of drastic effect on the "world economy" where you would be better off just stocking up on food and water instead of gold.... Now THAT is something I will most certainly agree on. :)
  5. I have noticed that the price of gold has dropped significantly lately..... which would tend to make folks think that things were 'good'...... I begin to wonder if that isn't just a sign that the end is clsoer than we would really like to believe, and the market is being manipulated so folks can make the most of their money, before it becomes toilet paper. Yeah, ok, I am indeed wearing a tin-foil hat....... :D But, am I just being paranoid here?? Greece has already fleeced its investors. One would think that folks with a a brain cell to fold over and rub on itself should realize that doing it once, makes it childs play to do it a second time. I am truly surprised that ANY of the banks survived that particular move. Were it MY money that had stolen a percentage of, the rest of it would most certainly be moving someplace else, just as quickly as I could possibly arrange it. Personally, I think the E.U. was a bad plan. The fiscally responsible states are now going to have to bail out the rest, and it's gonna cost. Big time. If they don't, then the entire E.U. dissolves in any event. But, once again, loaning folks money to get them out of debt simply isn't going to help them. Austerity measures have actually proven to WORSEN the economy..... and the people are going to be upset. Putting it mildly. Was five years a conservative estimate of the coming of the collapse?
  6. Yields are at record lows at the moment but they won't stay that way forever, once they return to more normal levels you ain't going to be able to pay back what you owe now let alone another few trillion. The U.S and Western Europe are like those people who borrow on one credit card to pay the debt on another while applying for more cards, sooner or later someone is going to say no. To be honest it's going to take a default to wake those up who think you can borrow your way out of debt, sadly it'll be the poorest who bear the brunt of it, they'll be the ones going hungry while food is traded for commodities because you're shut out of the markets. This is exactly what they are doing. Unfortunately, just like those people you describe, they ARE going to keep doing it as long as they can, and when someone says "No", the feces is REALLY going to hit the fan. Now, just imagine the impact on the world economy when the US dollar instantly becomes worthless. Won't that be fun?
  7. According to theory, the unofficial dawnguard patch hides it, so normal enchantments will show. The effect should still be there.
  8. We have become a nation divided, right down party lines. Yep. That is THE biggest problem we have today. Trouble is, I don't see it changing. It has become a contest of wills, and no one is willing to compromise even a little bit, as it would give them the appearance of being 'soft on party positions', or something equally as stupid. Doesn't matter to the powers that be though. They still get their paychecks, all their benefits are stil lin place, and they have no trouble at all making ends meet, on the nice fat checks they get from the taxpayers. According to popular theory, they are supposed to work FOR us. Now, apparently, it is US that works so they have the money to ensure their checks cash. But, we have many out of work.... We REALLY need some campaign finance reform if we EVER want to get our government back under control. Problem there is, the only folks that CAN change it, are the very same folks that profit the most from NOT changing it. The big money players can also buy any legislation they choose, to make sure that nothing ever does change, and they can retain their grip on power, even though it is 'behind the scenes', sorta. And that is why I really don't hold out much hope for our country. Positions are entrenched, change is extremely unlikely. We are on course to bankrupt the country, and all the power elite care about is hanging on to power RIGHT NOW. Doesn't seem to matter to them that when things DO go belly up, THEY are going to be the ones in the crosshairs. But then, they will just move to their vacation home in the Cayman Islands, or Europe..... and let us all go to hell in the handbasket they created.
  9. Put people back to work, and the insurance problem would solve itself. No need for 2500 pages of legalese to complicate our lives further. The republicans came up with mulitple ideas, none of them even made it to committee in the senate. They had jobs bills as well, same thing happened to them. Those stories don't make the news though. I liked the single payer system better too...... unfortunate the repubbies didn't care for it.
  10. There were links to the actual studies...... have a read, interesting stuff. I am real curious if the subsidies are going to actually cover someones premium jumping by 400%...... guess we will have to give it some time, and see what happens. Thing is though, given that north of 65% of all employees work for companies that are directly affected by obamacare, (actually, more than that.... but, just don't have exact numbers, in any event, 2/3rds of the workforce...) you can see how the uncertainties surrounding the implementation would give business pause about hiring more workers, when they don't have a clue what that will do to their health insurance costs..... Given that folks are going to be required to carry more coverage than what they probably currently have (the maternity coverage for instance, even for MEN.), it is certain that employers ARE going to be paying more for health insurance. Said costs will either be transferred to their employees, in the form of larger contributions to their premium (which subsidies DON'T cover), or, passed on to the consumer in the form of higher prices for the product. Now, on the other hand, had Obama and company actually done something to give corporations motivation to actually HIRE people, and put more folks back to work, the whole 'no insurance' thing would be a non-issue. Right along with decreasing welfare roles, and all the costs that go along with it. Cheifly, Medicaid. You know, health insurance for the unemployed. Not to mention that the fed would also see an increase in revenue, due to income taxes. Now, doesn't that make FAR more sense than what actually happened?
  11. What those numbers don't tell you is: Better than 65% of people are employed by firms with 100 or more employees. They didn't break the numbers down to 50 or more. Next rung was 20.... So, while a small percenage of businesses may be effected, the majority of employees ARE. Also, have a look at this article. A small excerpt: And you are trying to convince us that rates won't go up..... Right. The rates are going to beat the crap out of those that we need to sign up the most, which is going to seriously discourage them from doing so, considering the comparison between how much insurance is going to cost them, and how much the 'fine' will be for not having insurance.... What choice do you think they are going to make? Your rationalization really doesn't surprise me at all. Just to hazard a guess here, you don't pay for your insurance, do you?
  12. I don't like either party. :) There are portions of each parties platform that I DO agree with, but, of late, it seems that I don't like ANYTHING that is coming out of washington, regardless of which party originated it. Look back over my postings here, and you will see that I take the republicans to task in equal measure as I do the dems. Quite frankly, I think our current government couldn't do anything right to save their own lives. They simply are incapable of telling the truth about anything, and are more concerned about assigning blame, than solving problems. In all reality, there isn't any money to be made in actually SOLVING problems..... it is more profitable to poke around the edges with stop-gap measures, and treating symptoms of larger ills, rather than addressing the actual problem. Obamacare is a prime example of that. Instead of addressing the REAL problem, JOBS, they pass some monstrous legislation to address only one minor aspect of the problems that are merely ripples from the bigger problem. Immigration reform is another one. Granting amnesty (and that IS what it amounts to) to 11 million plus people isn't addressing the actual problem. It is merely treating a symptom, and ineffectively at that. The message we are sending there is: "if enough people break a law, we will simply pass another law that makes that behavior legal'. How anyone thinks that this act is going to 'discourage' illegal immigration is beyond me. To any rational individual, they will see it will quite obviously have the exact OPPOSITE effect. Folks are going to be thinking that if they can get here, they will be allowed to stay, and rewarded for breaking our laws. We have already seen evidence of this train of thought. And yes, Obamacare IS driving up insurance costs for a signficant percentage of those affected. (mostly folks that already had some form of coverage, that wasn't deemed 'good enough' for obamacare.) Do you think the folks I talk to are lying to me? That their insurance rates didn't go up? Or do you have some rationalization that is was 'junk' insurance, and didn't cover them anyway, so they are 'better off' now, with insurance coverage they will NEVER need, and paying higher premiums for it? This all goes back to one of the 'big lies' we were told about Obamacare in the first place. "If you like your coverage, you can keep it." No, you can't. As has been demonstrated by literally millions of canceled poliicies. So far, all I have seen from you is unwavering support for anything the dems put forth. Not once have I seen you question anything the DNC machine puts out. Don't you think that is just a bit of a problem? Accepting anything at face value from a political party is akin to burying your head in the sand, and refusing to face reality. It's obvious that 'reality' in washington, is dramatically different than the reality I face every day. Maybe I should just go buy a shotgun.......
  13. LOLOL. And just how do you propose to pay back the 17 TRILLION dollars we currently owe, plus whatever else you want to borrow? Currently, we pay 220 BILLION dollars just to pay the INTEREST on the debt, not even touching the principal. And we borrow MUCH more than that every year. We are going in the hole at an alarming rate. If any corporation, or private individual, ran their budget like that, they would be filing bankruptcy, or going to prison.... in very short order. But, it's our government doing it, so that's "ok"? Seriously?? There is much evidence to prove that Obamacare is indeed having a negative effect on hiring, insurance costs, etc. All you need to do is pay attention. I personally know people whose insurance rates have doubled because of Obamacare. And they don't get subsidies either. Granted, there are a fair few folks that will now be able to get coverage, but, the government is going to be paying for THAT too. Yet more debt to pile on what we already have. Sure, you can lay all the blame on the republicans if you want, but, that does not make it true. All that does is demostrate that you have an unrealistic view, that is unsupported by the facts. If you can't recognize that the dems are just as responsible for the fix we find ourselves in today, then you are actually part of the problem our nation has. Political intractibility. It will be the death of this country. (and yes, the republicans are guilty of that as well.) Just out of idle curiosity, how much is the DNC paying you to publish their propaganda here?
  14. Trouble is, "investing" requires money. Where does the government get its money? Some, they get in the form of taxes, sure, but the rest, they borrow. Currently, any 'investing' that is done, would require borrowing the money to do it. Once again, a short term fix, that exacerbates the long-term problem. What you need to figure out is: This isn't going to be a fast process, if done RIGHT. Something else I would point out is: Obamacare is one of the major factors in why business is NOT real enthused about hiring at the moment. Too much uncertainty in what is going to happen, and what it is going to cost. Of course, I think Obamacare was a totally wrong thing to do in any event, (what we needs is JOBS, where folks used to get their insurance, not another government mandated program that is only going to drive UP health care costs. Not to mention what it is doing to insurance costs.....) While I agree our government may indeed know exactly what needs to happen, blaming it solely on republicans completely misses the mark. BOTH parties cater to their major campaign contributors, and the super PACs that get them elected. (or, can get the other guy elected if they don't toe the line.) THEY are the ones with the real power, congress simply dances to their tune. So long as that remains the case, our economy is going to continue to struggle along, and not really make much headway, the middle class is going to continue to shrink, and the welfare roles are going to continue to expand. THAT is reality. That is the biggest problem we have. Unless/Until something is done about that particular aspect of our government, nothing is going to change significantly enough to make a difference. In the end, we are going to go belly up, and take the world economy with us. Again. It is going to be a disaster of global proportions, and that will just be the start of it. I do not expect to survive the aftermath. And I would be a good chunk of the population won't either. It is going to be brutal, and ugly, and we are heading for it at full speed ahead. I am sure congress knows this, yet still, its 'what makes me the most money right NOW' that makes their decisions. Our goose is cooked. The writing is on the wall. Doesn't matter who gets elected, we are still following the same course, and it only leads to disaster.
  15. From the CBO: http://media.cmgdigital.com/shared/img/photos/2013/05/15/dc/97/CBO_Deficits_Estimate_FY12_to_FY23.JPG Please note that the deficit may be going down now, but, projections over even the short term show that it isn't going to continue. This is the budget Obama has handed us. This is unsustainable. We are going to reach a point when the folks we borrow money from are going to start wondering IF they will get their money back. China has already made hints in that direction, and that was a couple years ago. The debt has only risen (dramatically) since then. We are going to borrow ourselves right into insolvencey. Yes, our economy isn't doing well at the moment, (no matter what the government would like us to believe....) but, borrowing more money to artificially prop it up is NOT the answer. All we are doing is postponing the inevitable, and ensuring that the eventual collapse will be even worse. That event will make the crash of 2008 like like a walk in the park. We MUST reign in government spending. If we don't, we WILL come to regret it. The government simply cannot 'create' private sector jobs. All they can do is create an environment that encourages the private sector to do so. This is done thru legislation, not by spending more money. Currently, our government IS encouraging the private sector to create jobs, just not here at home. The Free Trade agreements with any third world nation that is willing is just another place for corporations to outsource american jobs to. It is counter-productive, regardless of what the government tries to tell us. It isn't "opening up additional markets for american products", it is opening up additional markets for products american companies make everywhere else BUT here. Corporations make big profits, americans lose their jobs. On our current course, the middle class is going to disappear. The poor/destitue is going to expand dramatically, we will be adding 1.3 million more here in the not very distant future. All the while, we are sending billions overseas, that we will never see any return on the investment. The USA simply cannot afford to be the world police, or, the world welfare agency any longer. Trouble is, our government will never figure that out. Their arrogance is going to destroy this country.
  16. We have an expanding deficit, and you want MORE government spending? Seriously? That is NOT going to help the economy, or our long-term financial outlook. Burying ourselves deeper in debt is NOT a good plan. We need to get AMERICANS back to work. THAT is the solution. And NOT in government jobs.
  17. What happens when you try and talk to them? Can you 'activate' them? Can you pickpocket?
  18. Government cannot create jobs, nor can it create wealth. All they can do is create an environment CONDUCIVE to creating jobs in the private sector. Problem is, ours only seems to want to motivate businesses to create jobs in other countries. What they don't seem to understand is, all those free trade agreements are NOT going to help the US economy. Sure, maybe we can get cheap products, (in more than one sense of the word....) But, no one will have a job, so they can actually afford to BUY those products. Espeically when most of those argeements are with third-world countries that have wages that are measure in dollars, or events cents.... per day....... Lotta folks like to point at the unions, and blame high prices, and fleeing jobs on them. Well, what happened with NAFTA? Lots of auto production moved out of the country. Did auto prices get any cheaper? Nope, they went UP! It appears there is more to that particular puzzle than lower wages from 20 bucks an hour, to five bucks a day for the assembly line workers eh? Something I DID notice though, was the management bonus checks got bigger....
  19. That's just the trouble. The folks in washington don't really care that the country is slowly (quickly?) sliding into the waste bin. THEY will be taken care of regardless of what happens. They have their fat nest eggs to fall back on, besideds, they are making money hand over fist at the moment, why would they want to stop? Basically, if it doesn't DIRECTLY benefit them, they won't lift a finger.
  20. No, we are investing in OTHER countries, helping THEM grow. China, India, Malaysia, et al. And we are giving corporations tax breaks for doing so. Eliminate the motivation to off-shore our jobs, encourage business to create jobs RIGHT HERE AT HOME, and rebuild the tax base we once had. There won't be any need to raise taxes.
  21. Stop ALL international aid. That includes military aid. (right around 50 billion a year, in total.) We shouldn't be giving away money that we borrow from China. Bring ALL of our troops home. Shut down at least 50% of our foreign military bases. (and ALL of them in Iraq, Afghanistan, Et. Al.) Secure our borders. Actually ENFORCE our immigration laws. No more lifetime benefits, including pensions, and health insurance, for congress. A serious re-evaluation of current military projects, to include new weapons systems. Anything that is more than 15% over budget gets the axe. Of course, none of this could happen without some serious campaign finance reform. Overturn Citizens United. Corporations are NOT people. Limit campaign contributions to 5000.00 per individual. That's it. No corporate money whatsoever. Limit political campaigns to within three months of the voting. In todays world of instant information, there is no need for anything longer. Term limits in congress...... And, as Vagrant stated, none of this will ever happen. The power-elite will never give up the power they have gathered. The only folks that can possibly change any of this, are the very same folks that benefit the most from NOT changing it. Basically, we are pretty much screwed. We will continue down our path of fiscal disaster, and our eoncomy will collapse. Will make the great depression, and the crash of 2008 look like a walk in the park.
  22. Since Oblivion, they have been using the XBox SDK to develop the games. Technically, its "easier". Don't expect a game designed specifically for PC though. Beth gave up on that quite some time ago.
  23. Don't think there is anything in the constitution that requires everything you say to be 'respectful' though. (though I would imagine there is something in the bible about it.....) Phil is simply expressing his opinions. Something he has every right to do. Some folks don't like his opinions, that doesn't really come as a surprise, but, that doesn't change the fact that he has the right to express them. Especially when directly ASKED. I would also point out, that being 'opinions', does not necessarily imply that he is 'right'. Everyone has opinions. No one has an opinion that everyone will agree with. GLAAD needs to figure that out, and get over themselves. The black community isn't raising a big stink about his other comments. Are the gays just more sensitive? Do they think that any criticism of their lifestyle should be considered 'hate speech', and the person expressing their PERSONAL views taken to task for it? By what right do they find themselves so entitled as to control what folks say?
  24. The 'block' they are potentially alienating represents about 3% of the population. Not much of a demographic to worry about when millions of dollars in profits are at stake. Phil didn't make any racially derogatory statements. He made observations from his own personal experience. Now, I will grant you, that his experiences do NOT sum up the total experience of blacks in pre-civil rights era USA, but then, I really would expect him to speak of things outside his experience. The fact that the gays are all up in arms, and the blacks are noticeably silent, should tell you something as well. This is being blown WAY out of proportion on the overall importance scale. The blacks have it right, the gays just want the attention.
  25. How many hours on that save? My 46 and some change hours save is only a bit over 8 meg.......
