  1. Boss will automagically assign the tags, no worries there. The dirty edits should be cleaned with TESVEdit. You can download it from skyrim nexus, and on the description page (I think) is the procedure for cleaning mods. (if not in the description, will certainly be in the docs that come with it.) It's a lot like Wrye Bash, looks complicated, is very powerful, but, if you follow the directions, works great. Dirty Edits can be something as simple as an "Identical to Master" record. Basically, its a record that was 'touched' unintentionally, and thus, the CK marked it as 'changed'. Can cause some issues, and should be dealt with.
  2. Boss will give the error messages whether you have the fixes in place or not. If you have the fixes already, don't worry about the errors.
  3. Think I have seen this flavor of thread before, but, here goes anyway.... :D No. It can't. Human nature won't allow it. There MUST be someone 'in charge', else, things go to hades in a handbasket. No major infrastructure, no collective organizations for the public safety, (fire, police) and no central authority to deter crime. Granted, if everyone has a gun...... that would be somewhat of a deterrent, but, I don't think significant enough. And that's just internal issues. When you start dealing with the rest of the world, doing so on an individual basis would be a major nightmare.
  4. Trouble is, 64 pit operating systems didn't become real popular until recently.... (about half way between vista, and 7....) Now though, I am not seeing many machines that AREN'T 64 bit..... I run Skyrim on an older machine, AMD X4 965 Black, stock clocks, HD 6850 1gb, 4gp RAM, and a 7200RPM IDE HDD..... and 64 bit Win XP Pro. My game runs pretty good, and doesn't crash. At all. I don't remember the last time that it DID crash while playing..... I get some microstutter, but, aside from that, the game is eminently playable. Of course, this is a rig built pretty much specifically for gaming, so, a lot of the windows 'pretties' are disabled, along with useless services. (Yes, I am looking at YOU Window Wireless zero config.... I don't have a wireless network adapter, so why in hades would I need the service?) It isn't JUST about what hardware you have. It's the entire system setup that needs to be looked at. If you have a dozen little icons in your system tray, it's no wonder your gaming experience is somewhat less than satisfactory.
  5. Your monitor isn't the problem, I suspect your video card is...... it is either overheating, or the driver is crashing. Knowing what vid card you have would be a good place to start, and what driver version you are using.
  6. Use only NEW hard saves. No auto, or quick saves. At All. Play for a while. See if any issues crop up.
  7. Beth games are known for having some issues when overwriting files. Autosaves, and quicksaves are notorious for corruption because they get overwritten. Skyrim at least rotates autosaves.... so it isn't as bad... but still, it appears beth still hasn't figgered this one out. Best bet is to create new, hard saves, on a regular basis. I don't use auto/quicksaves at all, create a new save when I do save, and I have never had a problem with save corruption. Just clean out your saves folder once in a while. After a couple hundred files are in there, it starts slowing down when you try to save again.
  8. So, if not artists, then, mechanics? :)
  9. Mainly because of the interesting vote counts, re-counts, and re-re-counts during both of bushs elections...... Not much of which made the papers for more than one article or two. We aren't fighting in Iraq any more. Sure, we still have troops there, but, they are in non-combat roles. Mainly, guarding our ambassadors and such. Not to mention that the war in Iraq was based on lies and manipulation. Anyone that said anything different than what King George wanted to hear, suddenly found himself unemployed. Patriot Act anyone? Occupy wall street camped in public parks. I will agree with you on Obamacare. I was floored that the Supreme court actually upheld that portion of it....... How in hell is that NOT a violation of my rights?
  10. If he wanted to provide universal health care, then he should have stuck to his guns, and took that route, not REQUIRING citizens to purchase a product from a private corporation. (but, that's an entirely separate debate.) The republicans passed the line-item veto when George the first was in office, (toward the end of his second term) but, as soon as a democrat was elected to the whitehouse, it was immediately decided that it was unconstitutional. :) It goes both ways.
  11. I think that's normal. (in the skyrim launcher..)
  12. Need to see your load list, in order please.
  13. NMM? As in Nexus Mod Manager? It's isn't a mod..... so it won't show in your data files.....
  14. I vehemently disagree. I don't use the manager, don't be depriving me of my manual links.
  15. Bush the 1st was the main driving force behind NAFTA, and he tried to get it implemented before the end of his second term. Didn't manage that, but, slick Willy signed it into law anyway. I have no idea what made him think that was a good idea. Bush the 2nd came up with the brilliant idea of giving companies tax breaks for 'creating jobs in developing nations'..... I am not sure if he knew that was going to translate quite literally to "moving jobs to developing nations"..... He wasn't the brightest bulb in the chandelier..... so, I will give him some benefit of the doubt there. Trouble is, politicians KNOW this policy is BAD for american workers, yet it is still in place, some ten years later. You only hear about it around election season..... but that doesn't surprise me either..... Obama also signed into law (treaties...) free-trade agreements with Panama, Columbia, and S. Korea. Three more places where american jobs can go..... There was little if any fanfare, he signed it at night, behind closed doors, and never bothered to announce that he was doing so. There was a minor spot about it in the media, and then it kinda got lost in the shuffle. On purpose? Probably. Making a 'prediction' of some breakdown in any political party in 20 years is pretty safe....... odds are he will end up being correct. :) And if not, no one will remember that he said anything, or, they simply won't care. (and he may be dead by then anyway, so HE certainly won't care.) Expecting anyone in government to 'reform' anything is a pipe-dream. They have already more than adequately demonstrated that they have no intentions of reforming a thing. "Health Care Reform" is a shining example of that, it has nothing to do with health CARE, it just deals with forcing americans to buy a product from private companies..... I was real curious how that was at all constitutional......
  16. The trouble with the repubbies is, they are too stuck on their platform, and outright refuse anything that even remotely resembles compromise. They are alienating the voter base with their religion-based views on a variety of issues.... and I really don't see that changing any time soon..... I really don't want to see the republican party fade from political significance though.... having the dems running the show would not be what I consider a good thing. We need balance in washington.... although, what I think we REALLY need in washington, is a good dose of common sense.. something that seems to be in extremely short supply there....
  17. Oh yeah, the dems can see right thru the repubbies, and aren't overly concerned at this point, simply BECAUSE the repubbies are in such trouble with the general public. (I don't think the dems approval rating is much higher.... and I think congress as a whole is still in the single digits...... big surprise there huh?) I should think that the dems would be more likely to push for abolishing the electoral college altogether, rather than using the same republican tactics in other states... Not like it hasn't been tried before in the past though... Then it would just be a matter of getting out the vote, and EVERY vote would have equal weight.... of course, then the more populous states would see the lions share of campaigning..... Personally, I don't see that as such a bad thing......
  18. And again, you are 100% wrong. -The companions guild quests only start IF YOU TALK TO AELA. Seeing Aela, and the companions, fight that giant on the farm does NOT, repeat, DOES NOT, just add a quest into your log. It is only added if you talk to her, which you do not have to do. -Innocence lost, AGAIN, only gets added to your quest log if you talk to a bartender about rumors. -the forswon conspiracy quest, AGAIN, ONLY GETS ADDED IF YOU TALK TO THAT GUY, and you can avoid him. That is real life, this is a game, having to program every single possible point in which you could betray a guild would take to long to realistically program. The canceling of quests, the alteration of scripts, and countless other coding problems make it unrealistic. Any and all points in which you can betray a guild have to be pre-planned for coding reasons. Delaying the MQ is nonsensical, delaying quests in general is nonessential, just because it can be done doesn't mean it should be added. Also, why do hey need to delay the MQ when you can just not do it? Again, why should Bethesda remove fast travel just because you dont want to use it? You dont have to do it, and thus, it shouldn't bother you. Your argument is nonsensical because you are asking for delays on things that you dont have to do to being with. You a programmer by any chance? I find it amusing that you think this "unrealistic", even though it has already been done for Oblivion...... I am going to assign you to the "beth fan-boy" section of my user list, which also happens to be my ignore list....... Have a nice day.
  19. -The companions killing a giant in the field doesnt add a quest to our journal until you CHOOSE to help them and talk to Aela -Walking in the streets of windheld does not add a quest to your journal until you choose to walk over to the guard and talk to him about the dead body -Walking into the market in Markarth does not add a quest into your journal until you choose to talk to the vigilant guy, and choose to talk to the guy who starts the forsown conspiracy quest. Please try again, because all of the quests you mentioned only start when you talk to someone, not when you just pass by them. People who dont want to ride horses, or use fast travel, shouldn't ride or horses or use travel then. If you dont want to do a quest chain, you shouldn't do it. No, it makes perfect sense that you cannot destroy a guild once you join it. Joining a guild shows acceptance of what that guild does, you're given a chance to destory it beofre hand, if you dont likethe actions of that guild, then destroy them when you have the chance. mods are not the vanilla game, your point is irrelevant because we never were discussion mods. Also, there are people who ask for the removal of fast travel, simply because its in the game. If you dont want to do the MQ, then dont do it, if you dont want to fast travel, then dont do it. asking for it to be removed/delays is not only selfish, but it is petty. Not THAT is FUNNY. We quite obviously have some philosophical differences as to what constitutes "choice", and I can see that you are very set in your views. That's fine. You think the game offers you a 'choice', I do not. You aren't going to convince me, I am not going to convince you. Further debate is pointless, so, I am out.....
  20. From what I can find, it appears that Maine, and Nebraska, already split their electoral votes by voting district. Supreme Court doesn't really seem to have an issue with that..... I can't see them taking this up if the republicans successfully get other states to start doing so. Apparently, it's perfectly legal. And yes, that method IS highly susceptible to gerrymandering...... Which is exactly what the republicans have in mind..... @sukeban: In most states, it is illegal to hunt with an assault style weapon in any event. Or anything with a magazine capacity larger than like.... seven... I think. (some pump action shotguns can hold more...) As for Adam, rifles in general aren't good for close-quarters, such as in a building. The pistols didn't have extended magazines either, they were standard capacity. (for the weapon.... yes, some pistols hold 15 rounds or more without having to have a longer mag.) I still haven't seen anything stating for a FACT one way or the other on just WHERE the assault rifle was for this incident...... Wonder if I called the cops there, if they would tell me.....
  21. Some of the questions do not apply... hope it worked right.
  22. I guess that also means paying no attention to any law including laws of physics... Sure... criminals can go get a 30-round clip from the Soviet Union if they have a freakin time machine. I swear I am glad not to be a news reporter. I would have probably just started laughing out loud if I was part of the press hearing something like this from an elected official, let alone even being able to keep a straight face. This just shows how misinformed and under eductated the right-wing is when the governor fails to even realize the Soviet Union has been dissolved for over two decades and even if the Soviet Union existed today they had very strict regulations on gun ownership far more severe than he probably realizes yet even knows... Rhetoric from the Right-wing is far more dangerous and misinformed than their own audience even realizes. The fear and hate pointing out from "criminal" will have "rights" that "Self-protecting citizens won't" mixed with the misinformation about the "Soviet Union" as well as not even knowing how strict their gun ownership laws were. This hardly seems very credible to claim this person so knowledgeable where criminals can gets things from or not... While he may have missed a trick on his geo-politics..... the rest of what he has to say is dead-nuts accurate. Passing laws ONLY affects law-abiding citizens. Of which, mass shooters most certainly are NOT. I would also point out, that left-biased media ARE INDEED selling fear. They are doing their best to portray assault weapons as the devil, people only buy these so they can go and shoot school children, when that is demonstrably NOT the case. They also can't seem to make up their minds just WHERE the assault rifle was at Sandy Hook..... I can find just as many articles saying it was in the trunk, or simply not mentioned at all, as I can articles that state it was actually USED to kill children. I note the local cops aren't really talking about that either... I don't watch ANY broadcast news. I got fed up with them when I started getting more accurate news from a friggin COMEDIAN........ Now THAT is Irony for ya. :)
  23. Not true. You can pick up quests just by walking past two NPC's in conversation. You can pick up quests by having a courier FORCE GREET you, and hand you a note. Not to mention when there is a quest chain, finishing one generally automagically starts the next. There is no choice to turn it down, especially as relates to the main quest. I think you are cutting definitions too close. A simple "do it, don't do it" really isn't much of a choice, and if you choose the 'don't do it', the quest stays forever in your log. What we are looking for here is MULTIPLE PATHS to COMPLETE quests. Even if such completion is "Screw you, I'm going to abandon this one." and have it out of your quest log. After all, if you complete a selection of daedric quests... who gets your soul when you die? Or are they going to fight over it??? Some quests should exclude the possibility of doing others. And what of Aventus Aretino? Is the dark brotherhood NEVER going to answer him? Are YOU, not even a member of the DB at this point, his ONLY option?
  24. Yes they do. You can see it every day in the news as relates to gun control. They use the same political tools as the repubbies, just from a slightly different angle. Neither party wants an informed electorate, if the average Joe had the slightest idea how much of our government was conducted off the record/behind the scenes by a few power-players (Lobbys...) there would be a demand for change, that could not be ignored. Why do you think our education ratings have been slipping? Stupid, uniformed, uneducated people are far easier to rule.
