  1. Unfortunately, better hardware does not necessarily mean better performance/stability with this game. When you say "freezes" on load screens, do you mean the game completely locks-up, or just takes forever to load when you exit and interior cell to an exterior cell? The reason i ask is because when I first started playing this game what I thought was a freeze as actually just an extremely long load sequence. This mod helped. Helped immensely...and I run my game off of a secondary HDD with a lot of replacement textures. You may need some recommendations with your load order, sadly, I am not familiar with many of the mods you run. This game is definitely a different beast as compared to other fallout games and both skyrim releases. I still have random crashes when running around outdoors....no consistency, no discernible pattern. I can run for days without a crash, then, three or four in one day...running the same MO character/profile? Loading from the last hard save every time. WTF? Some folks have had issues loading saved games when the windows 10 memory cache doesn't release RAM properly. A contributor by the moniker of "Lucid Lady" posted a solution for this issue...at least it has worked well for me. Just browse my previous post for the video she linked. Also, I see you are using MO2. Just in case you aren't aware.... Any ini changes you make must be done in MO2's ini editor, not in the my games/fallout 4 listings. Check which mods are overwriting others in the left hand pane. These are shown with a lightning bolt icon. The left hand pane matters when it comes to overwrites. BTW, I don't mean the "overwrite" folder. Just the left hand pane listing. Good luck, I feel your pain. Sorry about the borked link, here you go... https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/10283
  2. I wish i had done some more testing also, though, creating that "Empty Standby list" task seems to have cured the late in the day load problem. I occasionally play the game three different times a day. It was on that third time load that the issue occurred, which was resolved with restarting my PC....THAT was what led me to the memory cache. As far as the creeping memory cache being normal....no load/performance issues occurred later in the day with other games, which were more demanding as far as system resources, so i wasn't monitoring the cache. I've only been playing Fallout 4 for about two months, and, have probably had more issues with it than I had with Oblivion, Skyrim and SE, Fallout 3 and NV combined...all running on much larger load orders than Fallout 4. Oh well....ya mod and ya learn. :)
  3. I have always "bashed patched" every Fallout/Skyrim load order I have ever created. Except for Fallout 4. The reason being is that i'm not quite sure about how Wrye handles weapon mods that inject their weapons into the leveled list via a script. I have an unloaded bashed patch in my load order, should I actually create it and load it? I run a very modest load....
  4. I keep it trimmed down to about 20. Sorry about the delay in response, but, apparently i double posted this. Thanks.
  5. LucidLady.....Good to hear! I found time to play three times yesterday and, on the third time, when the game usually chokes and crashes on saved game load....it loaded right up and ran for hours without issue. Keep your fingers crossed! You can make hard saves now? HeyYou....I research mods before installation...browsing thought the "post and bugs" section on the mod page. didn't see any post concerning memory leakage. Of course, that is no guarantee. I have a very modest load order for this game. I also use MO2. Feel free to look over my load order if you wish. Any tips would be appreciated. The reason I started this thread is because I was wondering if perhaps there was an issue with the Windows 10 memory cache and Fallout 4. Not necessarily mods, but, the game code vs. windows 10. I haven't updated to Windows 10-2004 yet, though it's sitting there waiting, Thanks. Btw: If anyone out there is experiencing the "144hz bug" on in-game computer terminals, stand back as far and as far right from the terminal as you can and still get the dialogue box. Of course, save your game before attempting to read a terminal....especially if there is a chair in front of it.
  6. I use DEF_INV along with the Vis-G item sorting mod...so far with no issues that I can discern. The only thing i have to be careful of is that Def is placed before Vis in the mo2 left pane so Vis can overwrite Def. Def doesn't even throw an .esp when combined with Vis-g. Those two are a must have for me as i cannot stand the vanilla inventory screens. Along with the "roll ups" feature, scrolling inventory screens is much less of pain in the ass with these two installed. If you decide to go that route, just make sure you follow the installation instructions on the Vis-G page. They are quite well presented and easy to follow. Also, a couple of things you may already be aware of, but, I thought i'd mention since I had to learn them the hard way. Any changes made to .ini files must be done in the MO2 .ini editor, not the documents/my games/fallout 4 folder Mods that contain ini files will show a paper-clip icon next to them in the right pane...and will be added to your game settings. overwriting in case of conflicts. And finally, if you use BethINI...make SURE you have the proper MO profile selected in the setup tab under .ini paths as it doesn't always auto-detect.
  7. Strange. Have you tried creating a named save via the console? It's a reach, but, one never knows. May be worth a shot if you haven't already tried.
  8. I leave my PC on all day, I'm not on it all day, but, I leave it on. I don't like hibernation mode so I set my display to "go off" after ten minutes of inactivity. Also, I don't play fallout 4 (games) five times a day as a rule. But, The rare times I do is when the cache builds up. Before I download and install a mod, I browse the first few pages under the "Post" tab and the "Bugs" tab. I don't recall any of the mods I use containing any post about memory leakage. Of course, that is not an absolute. I did create a new task with that executable and set it for ten minutes. Seems to be working fine, but, I haven't put it through the wringer yet. will let you know If an issue arises. Thanks
  9. Thanks, LucidLady. I actually watched this vid along with about 5 others, but, being the lazy ass i am, was searching for something akin to CCleaner that would flush that cache in one click. I will try that task scheduler method myself. Though it may be Monday before i can devote enough time to the game to properly test it.
  10. I"m going to create a new profile in MO2...minus the mods you mentioned... load up my clean vanilla save before exiting the vault and give it a whirl. Again, thank you. Anyway, i did a little experiment today. Got up this morning, fired up my PC, checked my memory cache in task manager: 1.25 gb. Played the game for about three hours with no issues. Quit the game checked the cache: 4.25 gb. Ran a few errands, checked the cache upon return: Still 4.25gb. Played FO4 for about two hours, no issues. cache up to 6.50gb. Loaded up my last hard save....crash, tried again, save loaded fine, game crashed after about an hour of playing, cache up to...7.50gb... Tried to load my last hard save and it crashed on load three times in a row. Restated my PC, checked the cache: 1.25gb. ...Started the game from the very same save, loaded right up and I played for about three hours without issue..... A small sampling size, so to speak, but, There my be a correlational. I'm going to repeat the process on days when i actually have time to dance with FO4 for most the day.
  11. Thank you for the advice and insight, LucidLady. I don't consider any of the mods you mentioned as essential, so I'll go without those on my next character. I did disable IOR and played for about three hours without issue . But, again, there is not a discernible pattern or consistency to my crashing. I don't crash that often, but, when i do, it seems to happen in bunches, then the game runs fine for long stretches of time Also, with FreeFOV, the mod author achieves this via the following: "Moving the camera node on the first person skeleton.nif back by 4 units reveals more of the world that was already being rendered, granting an increased FOV with no performance cost. There is a ton of rendered geometry not visible, but beyond 4 units I ran into clipping issues with the previs system." I have heard that changing your FOV via ini files can cause issues, that is why i loaded this mod. Again,, thank you. BTW, I never load from auto or exit saves. I always make a hard save before exiting the game and load from that.
  12. I leave mine on all day, and shut it down at night. Avoid hibernation mode. My pc is usually on from 6:am till about 10:pm.....My last computer lasted nine years with this method. Just adjust your power setting to shut your monitor off after whatever time lapse you wish. Also, check the "performance/memory/cached" tab in the task manager occasionally. If it seems a bit high, just do a restart. Mine will go from about 1.2 gigs right after boot, to about 4+ gigs just after a few hours of gaming and web-browsing. Windows 10 doesn't manage the RAM cache efficiently. A restart will help.
  13. From any direction? What worked for me was instead of walking down the main road in Concord, I skirted the main drag on the westerly side...down from the cave....to right before the area where the bloodbug spawns and cut into Concord proper from there. For me, that crash only happens at the very first entry into concord. The game does, however, crash occasionally in other area's in the same cell(S) ...no matter how far into the game I actually am. Good luck.
  14. Also running some f4se mods...Along with def-ui and Fallout 4 enhanced color correction.....Which seems to play nice with Clarity.
  15. Thank you for reading....I'll get right to the point. I run a lightly modded game only about 44 mods. Thing is that I get inconsistent crashes. I mean i can literary play for hours without a crash, then, game will begin to crash on walking around and occasionally on fast travel, but not consistently..it will occasionally crash on saved game load. I have had the game crash on loading a saved game, tried again and it loaded fine. I've had a save fail to load three times in a row. restarted my PC and the very same save loaded fine, ran without a crash for hours. On the very same character for days....level 60. Resaver finds no orphans. I understand the Windows 10 fails to flush it's RAM cache properly, but, To my layman's mind, it seems to me to me that perhaps the problem lies within the OS relationship with FO4? I dunno

  17. I've had crashing issues in that area myself, though not consistent, it happens pretty frequently. Mods or no mods....including walking from red rocket to Abernathy Farm. Just before the water tower.
  18. Just curious as to what mods those of you who are running TPOS 2 are loading. I'm currently running 90 plugins without conflicts that my modest modding talents can uncover. I would attach my hand placed load order if I knew how to to export it from MO2 into a text file.....I'm sure my load order is far from perfect, but TPOS 2 is a wonderful mod that breathes a new life into an old standard without insulting lore and balance. Not the mention the fact that the mod author is utterly dedicated and constantly improving/expanding on content....
  19. I just make a vanilla save just before I exit the Helgen cave (after whomever you chose to follow after the dragon attack exits the cave) and actually enter Skyrim proper......And use the Character Creation Overhaul to adjust my character. I create a skyrim backup folder and lay that particular save in that folder and start every new play through via that save. Just prefer that to alternate start mods. You could also download a vanilla save that was saved just after the cart ride and start from that. Oh, i also wait for all of the mods I have loaded (currently 93) and SKYUI/MCM scripts to execute before exiting the cave...This includes notorious scripted mods like Immersive Armor's. OMT, it could also be fnis behavior se.
  20. I just installed SE a few weeks before the latest "update" of Skyrim. Thank God I made a back-up of my executable. I'm still running SKSE64 200 16. and will continue with this build until I find a mod that is a "must have " that requires the latest script extender update. Why? because I like modding Skyrim, but, I LOVE playing it. Aye, just started with MO2 also and it truly is a godsend...
  21. Will limiting Skyrim frame rates below 60 fps cause scripting issues? The reason I ask is because i read recently (in a forum on another site) that the Papyrus scripting engine is designed to run at 60fps, and, that capping below 60 can cause scripting issues. I am aware that rising above 60 fps can cause wacked-out physics issues, but, until I read that post, I wasn't aware of the fact(?) that capping below 60 is harmful. The man even went so far as to say to NEVER cap below or above 60fps. I'm sure there is no one slice answer, but, any info would be appreciated, Thanks.
  22. Oh, pardon my persistence....But, it seems that you have "faith" that we will someday put all of the X's and O's together and finally explain (scientifically) the key to our minds, to our existance.... Too me, that is just another form of Faith.
  23. You got that part right. w You mean a lack of knowldege? How can a lack of knowledge (statement) become knowledge.? If it is based on reason and logic, why are we still in the dark? Or, is our cuerrent understanding on reason and logic utterly flawed? Is y our believing that we will suddenly (after thousands of years) discover the key to human thought and existence more nonsencical than believing in a God? Going by your statment....You have a lack of knowledge, the faithfull have hundreds/thousands of years of faith.... to each his own.
