  1. Just to be clear, while you may be granted access to the chat room again, the chat room is not the appropriate place to seek technical help or support. There is a vast resource of community support in the forums that is never available in the chat room.

In the chat room a question is fleeting, and glimpsed by a very small number of pairs of eyes as it scrolls away into literal oblivion, and of those pairs of eyes, maybe a half a dozen or so, only perhaps one might know the answer to your question. Often of that small group no one knows the answer, or if they do they may be busy and ignore it.

On the other hand, there are perhaps hundreds of people who will be able to see your question in the forums. You can also search the forums for similar questions asked and answered in the past, just waiting to provide someone like you the help you need.

  2. /rant on/

I can't for the life of me figure out why it's so difficult for the general population to deduce that a mod that allows for character customization (simply the one that has offered the most clothing choices via member support for the longest amount of time would be a highly popular mod, especially having the additional time to benefit from support and with a solid base of users over the span of that time would not be likely to have racked up numbers.) /rant off/

While I appreciate the lore from the game, I also appreciate history is written by the victors and even on earth we unearth new facts every day, facts that you might say increase "earth lore". For example, how many have read the Canterbury Tales? Ok maybe you have, so then ask yourself were they written in a vacuum?

Yeah you may think that medieval lore was all about Elizabethan fashions, but she was late in the game. Before that it was fashionable to expose ladies' bare breasts, men wore codpieces and very long toed shoes to enhance their "masculinity" and often priests' robes ended above the waist. You heard me right. And there 's so much more to medieval fashion that isn't even common knowledge or perception.

Bethesda didn't spend an inordinate amount of time (and I don't think they should have) providing clothing and armors, and while they based those clothing choices on the standard accepted version of medieval history, I think there's plenty of room for fantasy clothing and armors. That's the least of my lore worries.

I don't really get to fussed over whether someone else's game has lore-breaking elements in it. Thanks for the story Bethesda, but this is now my game and I'll take it from here, and write my own lore as needed. I reserve the right to adapt it with new information at any time.

  3. Cool idea for a quest! I think it's very doable, too. Unfortunately I don't have time for it, but I really think it's a unique and creative idea! I like it!

Why don't you try it? The animations for the band playing are available. so the biggest issue would be scripting the quest.

And there should be a choice of having the band perform without you, right, so you can leave the band and they still play their gigs?

  4. I have a suggestion, how about players play the original games as they were intended? Most remakes are very poor, I can only think of one that ever impressed me, Peter Jackson's King Kong.
  5. My characters to me are like story characters, and though I roleplay as if I were them, I guess, making their choices for them based on cues and history and anomalies that happen during gameplay, I do not see them as me, though I have modeled one character on me, (my first one, but she quickly became a much better person then I am). My most enjoyable character ever was the one I modeled on my husband. I didn't expect to like playing a male character, but he was so interesting and it was so neat "getting inside his head" that I found him the most pleasurable of all, and he was so cute to boot! :)

By way of example, I have a rule that I always play the oblivion tutorial, and whatever Baurus guesses, is the class I get. He actually guessed assassin for my husband's character, which is what I wanted him to be. If there's a game glitch, I write it into the story, for example my good character I mentioned above somehow got a knights of the nine glitch which made all animals friendly to her permanently. I wrote it in, it suited her perfectly of course.

You can't combine mods like that. As you see the results are very poor.

The best practice method is to 1) make sure you have saved your plugin with a unique new name like Skyship Merchants or anything unique you want, (not just modify the existing dwemer skyship plugin as you indicated). 2) do not open two plugins at once as you have done above "I open the Explosives.esp and Dwemer Skyship.esp". Instead, after you have saved your new Skyship Merchants* plugin, reopen it and continue your work by 3) adding the assets from any other mods you would like into this mod.

The best practice method of doing this is to create new meshes and texture folders for this new mod you're making, with a folder structure like this:

    Meshes\ggunster\dwemer merchants\weapons\ *assets*

    Textures\ggunster\dwemer merchants\weapons\ *assets*

If they're selling armor it will look like:

    \ggunster\dwemer merchants\armor\ *assets*

    the baths will probably be

    \ggunster\dwemer merchants\furniture\ *assets*

Using this method will force you to change the texture paths in Nifskope. A shoddy way to muddle through it is to add the assets from the existing mod's folders, but then you will have to redo it if you do decide to release your mod.

Then you "add new" and add the resources as usual. If you don't know how to do that, just look at the structure of the explosives plugin, note where the explosives are added, I'm assuming under weapons or ammo. click add new, browse to the meshes resource folder discussed above, click the mesh you want, and then add any relevant stats, probably exactly as in the original plugin (use it as your guide, but do not open in the same CS instance).

If you must, you can change the CS ini file to allow multiple instances of the CS for comparison.

Be sure to keep a list of assets you used and get permissions from the authors in case your mod is so cool the world can't live without it.

*or whatever unique name you gave it

I hope this helps, it was quick and dirty and off the cuff.

    Edit:

I took a look at Phitt's Explosives, and he used a file structure of :

    \meshes\PTBombs

    \sound\FX\PTBombs

    \textures\PTBombs

    (textures\menus\icons\PTBombs)

However, it's not that simple to add his resources into your mod, because his mod is heavily scripted and pretty sophisticated.

In this case, it's ok to create the dependency on his mod, but in order to do that, his mod will need to be "esmified", that is, made into a master which *must be loaded* for your mod to work. There are several alternative methods to do this as well, but my own preferred method would be to use Wrye Bash, with the CS as needed.

An alternative method would be to try combining his explosives mod with your Dwemer Merchants* plugin via the tool called TES4Gecko.

Both of these methods require patience and determination to learn but are worth it, and you can do it if you really want to.

Others may have other workable solutions as well, there are always a variety of ways to come at a problem, and asking around at the Beth forums and other places may yield some good results as well.

  7. Vyntages Better Girls modifies the formal wear for Cass and Veronica

I must have looked at the wrong file, becausethe one I found was this one, and it only tweaks their faces and modifies their vanilla gear so that it's playable.

Are there any mods in existence right now that adds a slinky, stylish black dress for tearing it up on the strip? Lots of good business suits for guys, but not much yet for the girls.

In the meantime I'm working on something so PM me if you want something real specific.
