  1. Nexus doesn't choose the ads. They are chosen by an ad company and change constantly. If there is a problem ad, it has to be reported directly or else the staff won't know the problem exists. In the future try to screen shot it. You can read more about it here https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/5164845-nexus-mods-and-advertising-how-it-works-and-how-to-report-bad-ads-to-us/&do=findComment&comment=45633105
  2. DANGIT I forgot to leave auto update on! :( Thanks to you guys for posting the links to the old exe.
  3. So what ever happened to Special Edition supposedly being free to PC Skyrim owners??
  4. About to be filled by Better Cooking Stations v2.0  Awesome! I already use half your mods, they are all great. Anything further will make my day
  5. I'm going to have to check out that clean water recipes mod, thanks for a link if you have one. There is a lot of room for it... with Survival you would have thought they would add perks or some kind of tweak to food but really it was left behind.
  6. I have no idea. Dev's logic. Why can't I plant a wild mutfruit but I can with one I harvested from my mutfruit plot? Right? Why can't you make vegetable starch with wild mutfruits? The food in FO4 feels very tacked on and not thought out.
  7. Right, that makes sense. But why can't I make soup out of purified water and vegetables? You can only make soup from dirty water, not purified. It's almost like you need a dirt water generator in the workshop menu.
  8. But all the soup is cooked with dirty water. It seems there is no clean food to be made only from workshop available materials.
  9. Am I missing something, is the only clean food in the Commonwealth is meat? I tried making my recent character live off food farmed from their settlement only to discover all the farmed vegetables are irradiated. It seems you can only cook vegetables with "dirty water" and the only other available recipes for clean food are by grilling meat. Am I missing a recipe? Is there a mod that adds more vegetable recipes? I have no problem with hunting for meat but why is gardening vegetables practically useless other than for making starch adhesive?
  10. I liked some of the characters in FO3. Moira Brown and Three Dog to name a few. Beth can make likable chars. They just didn't this time around. I think Beth along with some other devs need to quit trying to appeal to the masses and just make their game the way they want to. To much corporate interference or something. I mean it comes down to whether a dev is making a game just to keep fans happy or they're trying to make a great game. By the way, my favorite char from FO3 was President John Henry Eden voiced by Malcom McDowell. It took me awhile to figure out it was him. That's true, those were good characters, but none of them were your companions or took much presence in the story. I wish they had been. My favorite Bethesda character was Lucien Lachance and it was such a let down that they only had him in Skyrim as a (voiceless) ghost. You're right, they need to take some chances and make the game unique, even quirky the way New Vegas was to give it some life. Malcom McDowell is awesome and has one of the best voices in show biz.
  11. It's clear the dialogue system was intended to make the game more like Mass Effect who's success Bethesda was hoping to mimic. Unfortunately, they, unlike Bioware, cannot write likable characters to save their life. Bethesda makes potato headed, annoying, forgettable NPCs, always has. I remember the first time I met Caius Cosades in Morrowind and I was like nope nope nope. Bethesda has kept the flame alive with Preston Garvey and Waifu Curie. They are trying to make the game more cinematic, which isn't a bad idea, except it reveals their weaknesses. The panning dialogue camera is cool, but it shows off their awkward character animations. Romancable NPCs are cool, except it shows off the shallow character development. Voiced player characters could be cool, if it didn't pigeon hole the PC into being one dimensional with often dull dialogue. Radiant quests seemed like a good idea but ended up lampooned etc etc.
  12. I was thinking that it must be beneficial to modders to have many extra lines of player dialogue to use in creating quest and companion mods. Perhaps in the future, Bethesda can include many unused player lines so future mod authors can use those lines to further their stories and prevent monotonous repetition. What for? Remove the damn thing and there goes the whole issue. I'm personally hoping that FO5 features a completely anonymous and mysterious protagonist ala Oblivion or Mad Max 2015. Bethesda is getting really too heavy handed and specific with the main character's background, even to the point of detailing their pre-hero occupations in FO4. We need to return to the days when you got to decide who your character was and what their life was about, that means less player voice, less player background.
  13. I'm a male but prefer to play women in games. Due to past events in my life, I don't like men, trust them or prefer their company. The female aesthetic is much more appealing imo in all things and prefer even in my own appearance. Makeup, long hair, and form fitting clothes are both something I adopt in real life and the virtual world. I accept who I am but if I could have had a choice, I probably would have wanted to be born a woman. That said, I believe gender is only in your head and genitalia does not decide your gender. If someone wants to play a character of the opposite sex, there's nothing strange about it. What is strange are many works of fiction, such as The Hobbit, which do not have a single female character. Now THAT is strange.
  14. Anyone else notice, Nuclear Reloaded, the tree overhaul for FO4 is gone. Did something happen to the modder?
  15. @OP It's so tiring hearing people say how much "FO4 sucks" and that "the modding scene is dead". Well you're still here aren't you? Nothing is stopping you from playing FNV or FO3... or maybe FO4 doesn't suck as much as you think, or maybe you're just entitled. Or you could help out by modding FO4 yourself. There are some really talented people here that need support, not "the scene is dead". Yes, there are some great short comings with FO4. Yes Bethesda could have done a better job. No FO4 is not as great as Skyrim with guns... get over it. Don't let the door hit you on the way out. No one is going to hear your demand and come running to make your PN/FWE overhaul to bring you back. Modders make mods for their own enjoyment, not to satisfy the demand of entitled users.
  16. So do you eat your hamburgers with no bun and no ketchup? I mean, after all, there's no real point to a bun or flavoring like ketchup when the protein and nutrition are all in the meat patty. Simply, they add to the experience but are not "necessary". The Minutemen add flavor to the commonwealth, giving the player character an escape and distraction from To Syth or Not To Synth!? They are the human element outside of the post modern struggle.
  17. So did ENB ever get sorted out for 1.8.7? Otherwise looks like I'm never updating FO4 from 1.7
  18. Ah yes, money... The greatest bane to creativity, true progress and people actually giving a s***. If the majority are running games on potatoes at 30fps, then why would developers care to improve? Every year there are more and more downgrades, more and more disappointments... The quality of a product is unfortunately directly related to the majority's expectations and how they react. Too many potatoes running inferior tech. Too many console owners happy with a slideshow and 900p. And I'm suffering for it. If Boston can run at a stable 30FPS and the majority accept this as 'perfectly fine', why would they care to change it for those with actual standards? Why would they care about my stutters? They already have their money from the majority. If this is taken as purely unreasonable then so be it. I'm not trolling or seeking any sort of 'fight'. Just expressing how I feel, how I think it is. Pointing out a problem. But really, I don't have to be apologetic about this anyway. You would do well to watch this episode of the Twilight Zone, because you remind me of the main character: https://youtu.be/jX2HDYZJ4yw ...after all, if everyone else who is in your way was gone, wouldn't you finally have "time enough at last" to enjoy what you want? You're not suffering because of anyone. You exist and the game exists thanks to others. You should be thankful it was made. Could it be better? Yes, and of course technological setbacks can be frustrating, but enjoy it for what it is and do not project your displeasures on those who deserve your gratitude.
  19. Mitigate, by your logic, an out of shape person shouldn't buy running shoes because they could never keep up with Usain Bolt. How about you stop worrying about what other people do for enjoyment and mind your own business? There are plenty of people who run games just fine in potato mode and enjoy it. If that's what they want to do, who are you to tell them otherwise? It's simple economics, the income from console game success funds your multi-platform PC games. If not for that funding, sorry, you wouldn't be enjoying nearly as many PC games. Don't get me wrong, I don't own consoles and have no love for them, but it's the sales from the plebs that make your PC master race campaign possible. Enjoy it for what it is, a game. Your post makes you come off as a tart. If you're busy putting your nose up other people's butts, don't be surprised if you end up saying a lot of crap.
  20. A big problem is that there are no animation tools available to the FO4 engine, meaning a lot of the more advanced mods that Skyrim has simply cannot be done in FO4. IIRC the Havok 2013 animation studio tools were never made public so you don't see the advanced mods that Skyrim is getting like OSA. Finally, Skyrim had a lot more love put into it from Bethesda, mostly because TES is their baby, while FO was IP they bought and developed. TES is a much bigger piece of IP as well. There's tons more in TES to cover while in FO, the world is literally dead and there's only so much you can do with that.
  21. You can see your download history under the "Files" > "Download History" tab. Everything is there.
  22. Are you playing on survival where the saves overwrite each other? Yeah that kinda drives me crazy too because you only have what, like 4 saves? :/ Either way though, the Fallout series is notorious for having pragmatic, moral neutral plot points so I'm sorry to say but none of your choices tend to be completely "satisfying". I would say Fallout 3 is the exception because for the most part in that game you do go around saving the day rather Mary Sue. The other games give you more balanced consequences for any choices. I will say this though... you're not going to be satisfied with the end of FO4. Spoilers aside, it comes off as un-polished and without effort. My suggestion would be to enjoy the game for the journey and gameplay but not worry too much about the inevitable plot conclusion.
  23. It is indeed hard work but you are more than welcome to give a try at making them yourself. Here are the links you will need: https://www.blender.org/ http://niftools.sourceforge.net/wiki/NifSkope http://niftools.sourceforge.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=5823 http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/7957/? As for your criticizing what other mod authors are making, I'm afraid you will not find that attitude very welcome on this forum, present company included.
