Morrowind total conversion using creation Kit
Fatalmasterpiece replied to dovahkiin187's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I would like some clarification on this issue. Let's say I made a mod for Skyrim, which didn't contain or port any Oblivion content, or upload said content in any way, but had Oblivion content the user must supply themselves as a requirement. Would this be acceptable? As far as I can tell it's the actual uploading or porting of the content it's self which is illegal, not the authoring of a ESM file which utilizes said content if made available... -
Didn't see any new screen shots on that link besides the forest shot. I'm guessing the wowing is over the horned helmet dude with the dragon flying overhead that was released a while ago?

Hardcore Challenge
Fatalmasterpiece replied to Fatalmasterpiece's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Discussion
Yeah pretty much what I was asking. Cool that you've already been giving this theme a go. I find the decisions I make are way different when I don't allow myself to reload even after dying. For example, normally when I get to Nipton on a new game I kill all the Legion for being the murdering bastards they are... This usually take a number of reloads to get right. There's no way I would take on such a challenge when permadeath is on the line. -
Gameplay and cinematic trailers should give a huge boost to interest over the next few months. I'm hoping to see some Blur trailers or the like. The whole decrypting the runes thing makes me think they will have slme interactive news releases like contests or riddles.

I agree with the ai. If npcs find a dead body the guards should come and start questioning people. If someone just dropped dead in MacDonalds you wouldn't just shrug it off because you didn't see a cause. For me its all about atmosphere. New Vegas, despite being superior in game play, was inferior in feeling, progression and atmosphere compared to FO3... So it was a bit of a let down. I hope they focus on presentation and depth in balance with a good variety of features.

This is the site feedback/questions section

Hmm... I'm kinda wondering what's up with my AP. It's way higher than it should be. My screen says 247, which doesn't add up. Update: seems fixed now? Went back down to 130 which makes sense. -
Except for all the years I downloaded without being a registers member. :wallbash: Was probably 06 or something, how stupid of me. Thanks for the info.
-
Couldn't find this anywhere. Is download history after becoming a premium member retroactive? If so, for how far back?
-
It probably is. If you were an advertiser why would you want to give people the option to not listen? Anyhow, Dark0ne doesn't create or code the ads himself, so he wouldn't be the one to add a mute button, your barking up the wrong tree. I agree that it's frustrating and hope he can find a less intrusive ad model but whining about it in a rant isn't really going to help things.

Hi guys. I'm trying to figure out how to get and or install win3.11 on dosbox so I can play the higher res windows version of King's Quest VI. I bought the game but unfortunately can only get it to play in dos mode, most likely because I have a 64 bit system win7 system. Maybe I should just dig out an old 32 bit xp machine for this?

Ideas for different vaults: -Each vault dweller is fitted with a numbered explosive collar. At any time any other dweller can select a number on their pipboy and kill any other dweller. -The vault is filled with the usual 1000 people but the food dispensers only ever produce enough to feed 10% of the remaining population. -While sleeping, each dweller is given subliminal messages that enforce a keyword, phrase or thing which will cause them an extreme emotional/physical reaction. No one knows these words or things but it won't take long to find out. -Every dweller was once a criminal of some terrible nature, murderers, rapists etc. But all are brainwashed to no longer remember who they were or what they did in life.

why should i play FONV
Fatalmasterpiece replied to hoofhearted4's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Discussion
Gameplay wise it is a great improvement. There are a lot of things added which were only available through mods for FO3, but since they are built in it's seamless and there's no headaches for them. This also opens up more opportunities for modders and I think you will find that mods are pushing the boundries of whats possible more so than what was even available for FO3. As far as storyline... eh, I don't think it's so great, and the world wasn't built nearly as well... It is a much different "feel". I would say it feels more like a Fallout tribute than a bonified Fallout game. In that respect however it can be very fun because there's a lot of lore there to be found and enjoyed. So in short, I think they dropped the ball on atmosphere and plot. The game just doesn't have that dark feel of danger and disparity which should be dripping in a post apocalyptic wasteland. But it's great for modding and playing through adventure wise. If the money is that big of a deal for you I would skip it. If you would just buy some other game I would say go for it. I'm going on 200 hours right now and still enjoying it, I probably had 4-6 hundred on FO3. -
Do you think the devs at Bethesda...

The site will probably be updated with images from Skyrim. Seems like that's what happened when Oblivion was released. I'm not sure why he made a brand new site for New Vegas, rather than make it a part of Fallout 3s nexus. That was quite a while ago when they converted to Oblivion so I don't entirely remember. I think at the time I was mostly using PlanetElderscrolls because it had/has more Morrowind content. Ahh the good ol days... But that's why it was confusing when he created NV nexus instead of overriding FO3 like you said. However it seems like there will be a lot of people who still want to Oblivion so I wouldn't be surprised if there is a new Skyrim nexus. -
NVSE not running?
Fatalmasterpiece replied to badfrog's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Mod Troubleshooting
The key to figuring out what mod is creating the problem is to turn them all off, then run the game with just one mod, one by one, until you figure out which mod it is that is creating the problem. -
I understand it well enough to know that I can't count on everyone else out there keeping stuff I upload alive. So I'd need to seed in those cases. I don't have the capacity to deal with that with my current internet connection and I can't afford to switch to FiOS right now either. Torrenting is not the grand solution to every problem relating to downloading things. Especially in the age of ISPs who have begun throttling torrent traffic due to the overwhelming popularity of the platform to software and music pirates. Such as the aforementioned Verizon, who is known to throttle torrents even on FiOS lines. My own experience with downoading torrent files also tells me that there is no significant improvement in the download speeds vs getting it from a single source. The touted advantages seem like placebo or outright myth. Of course, it's never been claimed to be the grand solution. The point wouldn't be in speed improvements, it would be to decrease server load on Dark0ne so he wouldn't have to have such high hosting costs. Obviously that comes with some big disadvantages, but a great advantage being it's much less expensive. If someone's files aren't popular enough to stay alive well... maybe they need better quality in their files? :whistling: But for any matter, it's all pissin in the rain since it's just going to stay the current route and hopefully find a better balance in revenue vs convenience.

Alright, I know a thread like this was created months ago but I don't want to necro it. I've played through NV a couple times now and it's time to up the ante. Challenge is to do a playthrough on whatever difficulty you choose (I'm choosing normal for the first try), hardcore mode and when you die you die, no reloads, meaning accepting consequences for whatever you do. Exceptions would be, the game glitches causing you to die or screws up a quest etc somehow, that's it. If you can't get that flashy gun you wanted because something happened, you just have to live with it. So let's say for example you mouth off in a dialogue and cause a whole room of guys to go hostile with you and you die. Game over, no reload. Let's say you are trying to shoot a Gecko and it manages to kill you because you're still level 1. Game over. In other words, when your character dies for the first time, your run is done. If you choose to continue after that it's up to you, and if you don't like what you get in that random loot drop, too bad. When your character dies, and they will  post some info here in the graveyard about how you died, hell if your creative make up a funny epitaph. Good luck.

Alas secret stash doesn't seem to work for me and all I get are the same 5 songs constantly on RNV. I would really like more of a mix.

dual NV installations
Fatalmasterpiece replied to Fatalmasterpiece's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Mod Troubleshooting
Servus, that is a great suggestion. I will try that later and hope it works. Ich finde Deutschen sind immer so hilfsbereit. Vielen Dank  -
@Dark0ne that's understandable and of course it would be fairly impossible to convert the old files, but its something to keep in mind for the possible future. @Arthmoor I'm not sure if you understand how torrenting works completely. You wouldn't have to host your own files constantly. If its a file other people enjoy, other people would host it for you. Torrenting has gotten big this way and its how many people share things, most often without a single seeder having to keep his pc on 24/7. _____ I see a lot of people on here with the common assertion, if this or that happens or if X ad is used I'll share my files somewhere else... As someone who's delt with plenty of customer service knows, that's really not constructive or helpful. When a person says Ill take my business elseware... A lot of times its better they do if they have that attitude. I don't like the new ads or annoying systems either, but its better to come up with constructive comments.

dual NV installations
Fatalmasterpiece replied to Fatalmasterpiece's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Mod Troubleshooting
Darn, I don't want to by pass steam or anything else illegal. Just want a way to test out large mods without adjusting my existing load order and data files. I guess just copy and pasting the data folder might work? -
Is it possible to have two installations, say for testing out mods or would Steam interfere with this? Sorry if this violates Eula somehow but I didn't find it anywhere.

FNVEdit : MasterUpdate/Restore
Fatalmasterpiece replied to BooneoftheWasteland's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Discussion
I have great luck with it but of course only have creating a merged patch based on a solid load order in mod manager. It avoids conflicts and crashes from mods which alter the physical game world in some way, such as crash on save at certain locations. -

Fatalmasterpiece replied to Th0raxeIV's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Speaking of which, what's the deal with just TES nexus and not Morrowindnexus and Oblivionnexus. When Skyrim is released will there be a new Skyrimnexus or will it just overlap the Oblivion stuff like what presumably happened to Morrowind content? -
Anything out there about unarmed combat?
Fatalmasterpiece replied to SpellAndShield's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Altre, sorry you feel trolled. I was just voicing MY opinion and using examples. If you can't handle someone taking an opposing stance, sticking to it and using humour to point out some foolish notions then perhaps the internet discussions arn't for you, but that's not my place to say, just as it isn't yours to try and point out the rules. Kaskas the thing is that they really don't need to add anything for existing hand to hand combat. Obviously it has to exist because sometimes you don't have a weapon available. But they already have hand models, punching animations etc. If they want to add stealth take downs they have to get the actors in suit and motion captured, pay them and the technician for the time, clean up the animation, code it in game, possibly adjust many of the clothing and armor for clipping, take into consideration balance issues, code new perks, add new sound effects for the attacks, pay all the people who did all this... In actuality it would probably take almost as much effort to just add spears to the game. So far even crossbows or spears seem too time consuming for Bethesda. But hey let's hope they arnt.
