Prudes!

The US is a two faced monster. "Explicit language" can get you into trouble, but at the same time its the biggest supplier of "pron".

(Oh and try Disney ... they are the worst of all. if you play a Disney game and you have a chat option, try asking for assistance and stuff like that ... the whole word is replaced by ***.)

BTW:

Section 66 Sexual Offences Act 2003 requires a person to intentionally expose their genitals and intend that someone will see them and be caused alarm or distress. It is triable either way.

The catch is that it has to be proven 'intentionally (to cause distress)'

Pretty much the same as in my country. (to your right, across the sea  )

Exactly, I can't be done unless someone can prove I was intentionally annoying them. Simply walking past them is not that.

My right? How do you know which way I'm facing? I'm in the UK.

Here in the states, wandering around nekkid will get you a nice orange jumpsuit right quick. Doesn't matter what your 'intent' is. Public nudity is simply not allowed. (aside from a few topless/nude beaches scattered about the country.) And of course, we are also the place where girls, regardless of age/intent, regularly get called out for their skirts being too short, or their blouse is not button ALL the way up.... It's farking stupid. (and yes, I live in the US)

But then, here in the US, it seems that there is a segment of the population that go out of there way to find things to be offended about. They put more energy into finding something to be pissed off about, than they do taking care of their families. We have whole organizations whose SOLE JOB is to find something to whine about....... Quite honestly, I think our society is rapidly going down the tubes, at an ever accelerating rate... When simply stating an opinion, can get you arrested for a 'hate crime', you KNOW there is a problem there.....

I think a lot of it stems from religion, and the US has a lot more of that nonsense than anywhere else. Unfortunately your attitudes are leaking over to the UK, through the internet or films or both. For example we used to laugh at you suing each other, now we do the same.

I heard that someone in the US was actually arrested for being naked IN HIS OWN HOME because someone saw them through the window. Shouldn't it be the peeping tom that gets arrested?

We have that stupid hate crime thing here too. The "leader" of Scotland (which isn't even a country), prevented someone from going to their relative's funeral during covid lockdown, so he called her a nazi. He was fined!

Wow, I can't believe violence is more acceptable than nudity. Would you rather I exposed myself to you or beat you up?

Â

There should be options. When you install the game, the user should choose what they find acceptable, then it's their fault and their fault alone if they see what offends them.

Google "Hot Coffee mod" Nd you'll see why that will never be an option.

That doesn't make any sense. If I install a mod in Fallout 4 to make people naked, that's nothing to do with Bethesda. Why does it matter if the mod changes what's there, adds something, or releases something hidden? The point is the game was sold without naughty things, and those things appeared using a mod.

Seriously?

Should have been pretty obvious I meant to the right (or East) of the UK, not 'you' personally, based on which way you face ... *sigh*

Seriously? Confusing right and East is a schoolboy error.

Prude is an apropos title. Even the natural act of breast-feeding can be frowned upon by some state laws! The first time I traveled to Europe (Greece) and did the island hoping thing my prudish upbringing stifled my enjoyment of all the European ladies out there. By the end of the trip, I was in a balcony showering in front of all my female roommates (it was the only shower in the room and for $5 a night, what do you expect) without giving it a thought. It is a shame that decapitating someone in a video game is deemed acceptable and yet nudity is not. It has gotten so bad that pictures of your baby's first bath can be tagged as child pornography by a photo processing company and reported. The world seems to be moving backward and not forward, though, I hope this is simply a cyclical historical pattern that will move more towards acceptance than rejection and regulatory prudishness.

The US is the worst. Here in the UK some parents let their young kids run around naked (although less than it used to be, when I was a kid three of my friends were pretty much nudists). Nobody says anything. Probably saves them a lot on clothes and washing.

When I go hillwalking naked, I don't get hassled. One person ever has been upset about it. The rest either ignore me, say "oh!" or laugh.

No confusion here, East is in relation to the earth, right is in relation to a person. Simple English definitions.

Let me help you. You are walking along a path heading south and someone says "turn right". Or someone says "turn East". Can you not see those are opposites?

P.S. I'm 46 and passed my Geography exam a long time ago.

Every map I have seen, east is on the right......

Depends on where the projection is centered. If the North Pole is the center, then east is on the right at the near side (bottom) of the map and on the left on the far side (top) of the map.

Not that it matters, since context is more important in this case.
