showler
Yes, Bethesda has recently shown their extreme attachment to unreasonable DRM and micro-transactions by making their games available on the DRM free storefront and removing all micro-transactions from them on that storefront. Their plans are insidious indeed.

Their plans are insidious indeed.a try of sarcasm on my post ? if so be happy with it if you think it is right time for it. i mentioned RDR2 and in future maybe also bethesda.believe what you want. it counts until the day it changes suddenly. and i experienced this more often than i wanted. it is that simple. your sarcasm miserably fails in my opinion even if bethesda as one of so many companies try to withstand and others already stumble or fall. tell me: who owns bethesda ?we really do not share the same mindset for the present and the future, right ? I'm ok with it.i really hope that starfield works out financially as planned - if not and even if - we will experience more weird decisions... the truth is what we actually experience including the business models behind all that. but anyways, thanks for reading and trying to understand

What's your point?is this question serious? a hint: the decisions of bethesda count as long as they bring in the money. if not, things will change faster as you can breath.it is all about big business as highest priority not mainly about comfortable gaming for customers - my opinion.it may work all out also for the customer with the financial success. but we also know what happens if not. a fail is not calculated. i'm happy with fo4 and skyrim (in the meantime) and i hope starfield works out as planned - but i'm not hyped at all. if i see the teased npc it reminds me of skyrim and fo4 vanilla.other 2017 game characters/npc really looked much better an more vivid. i hope it works out to continue based on this old engine and future mods. It's always harder to laugh at oneself, isn't it.... On the contrary I found showler's sarcasm to be hilariously on point and the fact that you were the target, given your recent behaviour on these forums, only added to my delight. Have you personally exempted yourself from the admonition in your forum signature when it comes to concocting conspiracies about Bethesda and Microsoft....? There's a term for that. I've often found it to be the case that people with preachy forum signatures lack the self-awareness to reflect on their behaviour and modify it in future.... xrayy
you would be right if it would be just an entertaining platform for only three or four people with the same mindset.i'm totally relaxed and explained it even also for you. its the right time to leave this thread. i try to understand and learn my lessons in this forum. cheers
showler
it is all about big business as highest priority not mainly about comfortable gaming for customers - my opinion. You may be right about that. I think that particular trend, video game companies wanting to have financially successful projects, may have begun around the time "Pong" was released. You'd think people would understand that by now. Now, why they seem to think that video game companies would do extremely stupid things that cost them money instead of making them money out of some kind of spite....that confuses me. If games don't bring in the money there will be no more games, modern titles regularly cost north of $100m to make, some several times that. Ubisoft are often accused of greed but with the last two Assassin’s Creed games costing a reported $500m each to make you can understand why they need to grab as much money as possible in the short time that the games are relevant, yeah there are some scummy business practices especially with sports titles but what often comes across as greed is actually necessity. PixelThirst
On 10/1/2022 at 3:49 PM, showler said: For the love of God, Bethesda just released Skyrim on GOG.com with NO DRM, NO CREATION CLUB, and THE ABILITY TO FREEZE OR ROLL BACK UPDATES. They even gave Nexus and the SKSE team early access so that Vortex and SKSE would be ready to go day one. How can anyone accuse them of trying to kill the modding community when they go massively out of their way to support it on a regular basis. So trying to force players to artificially rebuy their game just to avoid their useless toxic updates is good ? so having players be forced to spend money again to buy a game they already own is ok ? so just own 50 copies of skyrim. wow. this is why humanity cant solve climate change. this idiocy right here....
