Vortex auto enabling plugins

Vortex by default auto enables plugins I've put in the data folder and that's such a dangerous feature. Suddenly I've been playing with the .esl and .esp version simultaneously.

How do I disable this function?

What's dangerous is you manually putting .esp and .esl plugins in the Data folder

There's no installer that will let you install BOTH ESP and ESL from the same mod

go to settings then workarounds, there's an option in there "enable externally added plugins automatically" that can be enabled/disabled as you need. i have it set to disabled, but i think the default is enabled.

give that a go.

Nonsense. Everytime you convert an .esp to .esl another plugin is created. As a creator this is common behaviour. Also one has to take a look at modules without having them to install in-game

Thanks for the info

Not sure exactly what the problem is. If you make an ESPFE from an ESP using a tool like Wrye, xEDIT, even Vortex, they don't make a duplicate plugin. Never had that happen even once.

If you have downloaded a mod with both versions included with no FOMOD to choose which one you want, I would complain to the mod author about the their sloppy packaging of their mod.
