jthrongard
I have an install and full working modlist for VR. I want to have a SEPERATE install of Skyrim SSE. I don't want to share mods between the two at all. My VR install is incompatible with an SSE build and I plan on doing vice versa with SSE. However, if I add SSE as a game and then set the staging folder to the drive its installed on, ALL of my VR mods are automatically moved to that new staging folder - rendering my VR build useless. How can I have an install of SSE and a different install of VR?
showler
They're meant to share a folder because they share mods. But your Active mods can be different for each. The only time you might have a problem is if you have a mod with different installed options for each game, but you can choose to install a mod twice and they will be separated. So I have to move mods back and forth. It doesn't make much sense to force the user to have to share it. Its their hard drives - let them download them twice if they want. Your situation is probably pretty unusual. You must have two small SSDs. They may not want to introduce another feature that might cause problems for the very rare situation like yours. For your situation, if you can't rearrange things to make it work, it might be worthwhile to have one game managed by Vortex and the other by MO2. Pickysaurus
Vortex organises downloads from Nexus Mods by the game site they came from. Skyrim SE and VR share a game site. I did talk to some VR authors earlier in the year about separating the two games but they generally agreed that it's too late now. There's also the fact that a very, very large chunk of the mods work with Skyrim SE and VR without needing alternate versions. Your situation is an odd one, so this is not a common enough use case that we've already catered for it. I'd suggest downloading the VR files manually and installing them with "Install from File" at the top of the mods table. Also ensure "Copy files when using Install from File" is off in your download settings.
BeowulfSchmidt
So, in settings for each game, are you setting different values for the Download tab => Downloads folder and mods tab => Mod Staging Folder, and Vortex is moving your mods from one to the other?
