I always make my character look as much like myself as possible the first time around. Subsequent replays will all use a preset because 3 hrs in character creation is all i can handle. Although with the built in vanity camera I may just clone my original save so all of my screens will have me in them,

Like someone took an attractive celebrity and slapped them until all their facial features are in slightly different, but not compatible, locations.

I'm not good at character creation.

Never fear, within a few weeks after launch, there will be a plethora of modder-made toons for you to download ;)

Also usually shoot for a look that matches my younger and back then very fit self.

Except I have blue-green eyes and in Fallout 4 I picked a version that , that is much brighter than i really have.

Just because.

I'm thinking Amos Burton from the Expanse...

Amos was awesome. :D I loved his character.

I will pick one of the presets, and tweak it a bit, and that'll be it. I play in first person for the most part, so, what "I" look like, simply doesn't matter.

For me it really depends on how good the character editor is. For example in Fallout 4 I found the (vanilla) editor wasn't particularly flexible so I just went with a slight variation of the default male character.
