Mod Browsing Overhaul Discussion

You've lost like half the sites utility in pursuit of [supposed] style and what i guess is parity with the mobile version [which is pointless seeing that this is a site for modding PC games] of the site. Everything is now 1 or 2 more clicks to get anywhere meaningful, whereas before it was more streamlined. I'm not a web developer, but I have been on the net since the early 90s and I can say without a doubt that is a move in the wrong direction. This is not a situation where everyone is hating on the new thing just because. This is a bad move.

As everyone else has stated, this new UI is a downgrade. It not only bloats the images and tiles, so you can't see as much at once as you used to, but it also makes browsing the site more straining on the eyes since they decided to get rid of the light grey in favor of dark grey/black.

To whoever designed the UI I just have to ask why? You not only removed the color and uniqueness of the site. You also got rid of the soul in favor of cookie-cutter "sleek minimalism" modern web design. Is this for the 40% of mobile users even though you aren't modding PC games on mobile?

Following on from my previous post, why can I now not sort mods by most downloaded/most endorsed? Am I meant to scroll through hundreds of thousands of mods when I just want to search through the most popular mods of each category? Who the hell actually designed this website as it's the biggest pile of s**** I have ever seen

I know just what you mean. Nothing else really matches the Nexus, but the current day Nexus doesn't hold a candle to its old self, either.

This is a really sad situation that could have been avoided.

Ever since the site updated I'm experiencing terrible lag when scrolling up or down, on latest firefox. The old site had absolutely none of that problem. It's incredibly infuriating. I hope this gets resolved quickly. I don't care for the new theme either, reading is more difficult, wish there was a brighter theme available.

I 100% bet that the next news thing will either not get published, be published but the comments will be locked, or be published and have staff and a ton of mods sitting on the page deleting comments that say anything about how bad the sites new update is.

 

The way the staff has reacted to our genuine criticism and problems we are having has soured how I've felt about nexus after using it for years. The place that was consistent and just worked has now become the opposite.

This is probably asked before. So sorry for that. But is it possible to have the Nexus members to choose which UI to use?

This update is trash, and frankly enough all the problems I have with it have already been stated by others before.

 

Revert this update, give us back the old UI for f*#@s sake.

Holy f*#@ this redesign is unusable.

And searching by specific dates is just gone now?  Did you guys redesign the site just to cover up some kind of backend f*#@up?

Despite hundreds of comments from people frustrated / disappointed about what you did with the site, we have to face the fact - Nexus staff worked on it for some time and won't throw weeks of work into a trash bin. Unfortunately, because (I am not original here) the new layout is terrible. Everything is too big, there's too much scrolling, it loads slower than the old one. Nevertheless, we can all complain, curse on the devs, cry, show them our disrespect, but they won't do anything about it and we'll have to get used to it. So, dear developers, since we're stuck with this tragedy, can you at least add navigation bars to switch the pages also at the top of the mod list, not only at the bottom? Maybe the bearings of our mouserolls won't wear out so quickly.
