How To Take Screenshots

ok, i have no idea about what ya'll are talkin about FRAPS or whatever. can someone dumb it down? lol im tryin to post images on my first mod and i have NO idea how to do it. the uploader says it wont take paint files? help me?

 

FRAPS is basically a software (Which is free download and reliable) that can be booted up in the background before you run oblivion and can be assigned hotkeys to capture within a game. It also does allot of stuff I don't understand like FPS but yeah :P

just follow the link and download the installer, install, and tell it to link with Bethesda Softworks when it gives you the option (no idea if this is necessary, but it is what I did :P)

 

Then just boot up oblivion, set up your screen shot, and Hammer F10 (The Default print screen)

 

the screens are slighly harder to find, just remember where you installed FRAPS to, (for example C/:Fraps) find the files and look in the folder "Screenshots."

You don't really need to link Fraps to anything. Just install it, launch the game and take screenshots. :happy:

I went with the old school approach and edited the ini file and it seemed to be working. Silly me though, I forgot Vista treats my Bethesda folder as a protected folder, so despite having the game tell me it was saving my screenshots, it wasn't actually allowing them to be written to the folder and I lost them. My keyboard doesnt have a print screen button is there any other way i can take a screen shot? short of buying a new keayboard.

Fraps comes from Frame per second and it's a small program to make screenshots and movies. You can choose in which format you want to save your screenshot , where to save them and so on. It's a real help for those who hate to lose quality by saving the shots as bmp and also saves you from converting them from bmp pr jpg or png.
