Deleted3507349User
Oh, don't worry...I wasn't referencing the Nexus. People here tend to be actually adult (mostly because adult behavior has been enforced long enough that it's largely ingrained). The hate elsewhere on the internet is frankly bordering on the insane. That's what I was talking about, and what I think OP was talking about as well. I love the Nexus, it's a refuge from the general tardity that exudes from 'most everywhere else. Boombro
That right, one hardly see stuff like this here. Steam and other places are steamy with those types. Reddit is a good place too, but it only leans to one side most of the time. If you went in.
Kabloosh
A lot of these negative reviews are coming in after just a few days of the game being out, and these people ended up being turned off and then whining about it because that is what the gaming community is like. These people posting negative reviews are merely jumping to conclusions before really experiencing the entirety of the game. There is the fact that not everyone is going to like a certain game. Your more thorough reviews with actual credibility and depth will come out a week or two after playing the game for awhile and really digesting the content. Thing is I really don't care what others think as long as I'm enjoying it. It has certainly given me an enjoyable experience and I really like the approach Bethesda has taken with the game. The game looks good, it runs great on my PC, and I'm having fun. It has met my expectations and while there are some things I would have liked to have seen I'm sure we will be privy to some interesting mods and DLC in the future though. Skyrim certainly was not perfect either and it had quite a few short comings as well. The beauty of these bethesda games though is the modding community. That definitely added hundreds of hours of free content for Skryim for me. I can't wait to see what people come up with for this series.
Falconian
The game is ok, it's the casualization/consolization mentality that's the problem.Every area of the game has been dumbed down (dialogue system, skill system, etc) to pull off the infamous "appeal to a wider audience" stunt, removing all complexity to make the game playable by the average dudebro. They got more sales and the old playerbase still buys the game hoping mods will add in everything that the company left out.KACHING! Deleted3507349User
The skill system doesn't really seem 'dumbed down' to me. It appears that we can build the same characters we always did, just with less hullabaloo. Less fiddling for the same result is called streamlining...or improving, if you prefer. Much more fun to just play the game rather than consult a spreadsheet and roll a 28-sided Die Of Dubious Fate.

tonicmole
Here's the truth. Vast majority of people love Fallout 4. It's a very good game, but Skyrim brought a lot of new people into the Bethesda fold. I'll admit that even a true fan of past Bethesda games might have a valid reason, but most of the negativity is coming from people for poor reasons. 1.) Gamers new to the PC trying to run Fallout 4 on a subpar machine. Whether it's lack of proper hardware, or running an outdated OS the only fault I'd put on Bethesda is that Windows 7 is a really bad OS for gaming. They likely should have not shown support for it since Windows 10 is free. No excuse to be still running Windows 7, and then complaining when modern software runs poorly. 2.) Old gamers who hate any Fallout made by Bethesda. Not sure why they don't just play Wasteland 2. It was literally developed by the original Fallout studio. 3.) New gamers who didn't realize the Fallout 4 is not a action FPS shooter like Call of Duty, or Destiny. 4.) RPG gamers who accidentally wandered into Fallout 4. This seems the oddest to me. You'll see thousands of comparison of Fallout 4 to Witcher 3. Yet, the games have little if anything in common. It's kind of like claiming Halo is much better than the Sim City. Witcher 3 is a semi linear, story driven action RPG. Fallout 4 is a strategy RPG wasteland simulator. In fact the only real comparison would be past Fallout games. 5.) People who honestly dislike the new mechanics, or had insanely high expectations. Can't please everyone. Some people honestly didn't take to the game. It happens. Most people like COD and GTA games, but I do not. To each their own. Also, I love the new dialog system. It's actually much more versatile. You know what you're actually saying. In past games it was always convoluted, and you actually didn't really have a choice. Rarely have past games made you choose one thing. Usually it was just a matter of clicking on everything. For me Fallout 4 is perfect. I honestly love every aspect. Best Bethesda game yet, by far. Edited November 16, 2015 by tonicmole
neonie
It's actually much more versatile. You know what you're actually saying. If you enjoy it that's fine. I don't want to take that away from you, but this... I think might actually be objectively wrong. Like it's actually the reverse. The past games gave you a line of dialogue and that's what your character said. It also gave you several options, and some of them were based on specific stat requirements, giving you more options. Here you will always have four options, and often they are ambiguous at best. (What the hell does "Sarcastic" mean? That doesn't tell me what the character is going to say at all ._.). I haven't seen any responses determined by your stats (probably because they did away with most stats) and it's just a much more linear dialogue system in general. Don't get me wrong, I'm actually enjoying the game, though I think it will be much improved once more mods start rolling in. I don't hate it or love it really. There are things I enjoy and things I don't. But I think those two statements are... most of the time... not accurate at all. (Though the "Will you comply" thing was pretty funny.) I hope many will try following that for tes6, buy it at summer sales at least with all the patches out already. With that said, why are you even here then?
