Male or Female PC? How come?

I stay my cute butt away from IRL debates for a reason.

Live and let live, I always say.

So what gender is your PC(s) and why?

For myself, it is female. I enjoy playing a female character

because I am attracted to the female figure. CBBE and HDT

certainly makes playing Skyrim without getting excited a very

difficult task. Until I find out how to make a slim and fit, pretty

male character, I can't stand the males in Skyrim. They are

just so large. Yes I know the Dragonborne is supposed to be

a mighty warrior, but I've just never enjoyed looking at men

who are shaped like a wedge. I hate to see a girl slain (unless

she's trying to KILL ME that is), so playing as a female gives

me a crazy amount of motivation to do my best so I never

have to see her fall.

Lastly... sexy screenshot ops. I'm terrible I know.

Female character whenever the game gives the opportunity. Why? Because I feel women have been left out as main /playable characters for far too long before someone gave an opportunity to switch sexes (I think TES4: Oblivion was my first game which added this possibility)...

Never ever created a male character in Skyrim, nor in any of the three Mass Effect games (bar once, but somehow my character ended-up looking like Putin every time, so I gave up :D ).

Thanks also to whatever deity available for mods which alter the "I-crapped-my-pants-while-holding-a-rolled-up-carpet-underneath-each-arm" stance which affects every female warrior-type in Skyrim.

Must say that the addition of physics has made playing with a female character the more... errm... charming, too, but my main motivation for choosing a female character is still the same: give the so-called under-dog its spot in the limelight ;)

I cannot, for the life of me, play as female character, especially in 3rd person view. Watching how woman or girl gets beaten by some bandits or eaten by monsters... hell no. Also there's no way I can get immersed in game like this, as party member or some NPC which you interact with a lot, sure, but as PC - never.

Also as I prefer 1st person view over 3rd, I don't have to stare at someones' rear a lot, so male ones don't bother me that way and female won't distract me from actual gameplay =)

As for males, I go from skinny to brutally pumped, different skin tones and etc, absolutely no problems, but I'm trying to avoid some "pretty" males, especially in games like Skyrim.

I seriously don't get males playing as females, especially in games where you can immerse with you character, but to each their own I guess...

I am male and I can play both. I first played a female in Oblivion after playing all the different races as male. I tried a female to see if it would play differently and was disappointed to find out that it didn't, but it did motivate me to role play differently, making it more interesting at a time where I had thought I was finished with the game.

In Skyrim my first play-through was as a male, then the second as a female, and I've played many characters of both sexes since then. Honestly I think Skyrim plays better for a male, more immersive, more real. My male characters are more likely to be pure warriors who never sneak, will charge into a dungeon and take on all comers, where as the females I will develop to be more vulnerable. It's a nice change moving back and forth between the two types of play.

As for modding them, I am fortunate that I can make my own things for my male characters just like I can for my female characters. With my females I go for pretty faces and slim bodies, probably because that's what I find attractive in real life. My males I would never make pretty, I want them to be real badass, maybe because that's what I wish I was.

To be honest, it depends on where I'm taking the character I'm building. Before I even choose a sex, I choose a class and a personality.

I do tend toward females for rogues, spell-swords (depending on the game), thieves, etc. and males for a warrior or assassin build. No idea why, I guess because it feels right.

Mail Male, since I am one. It´s nice to be able to choose but I can´t identify with a female character, simple as that. I guess I could take the role of someone who follows her around, like a guardian or so, but I want to take a more active part of the gaming experience and that includes not only pressing buttons but also the mental aspect :)
