No longer able to launch FNIS, BodySlide or Wrye Bash from Vortex after recent update.

All paths are correct in mine, but it's still not working.

 

 

 

I'm still using 0.17.11, I'm just curious if Vortex is changing the paths to the games, or if it's an actual bug.

So the Dashboard tools aren't launching things like WryeBash, Xedit etc either?

 

That needs a bug report.

It seems to be random as to what apps won't launch for different people. For me FNIS, WryeBash, BodySlide and NifSkope won't launch.

 

But, SSEEdit, SKSELauncher, CreationKit, ReSaver, and PoserDataGen all launch.

 

Just want to repeat that everything worked perfectly for me before the 0.18.9 update.

 

Also, all paths to all shortcuts and game (Skyrim SE) are correct.

I've fixed the problem and now all the shortcuts launch.

 

I had to set Vortex to run as an Administrator.

 

What's up with the warning that Vortex isn't intended to be run as an Administrator? What harm can it do?

Well I see the problem with running Vortex as an Administrator. You can't drag and drop files into the mods section.

 

So back to having disabled shortcuts I guess. Danm !!

A couple of days ago I set all feature updates to delay by 180 days. Security updates delay by 30 days - I think.

Unless people enjoy playing Russian Roulette with Windows Updates - I suggest doing the same.

So far UAC has been a pain in the buttock for ALL mod manager, and for tools like FNIS and Bodyslide. I doubt that this is any different for Vortex. Since years we are preaching beginners to move Steam out of "C:\Program Files(x86)" so they can't run into UAC problems.
