Better backup your ini files before deploying (at least for FO4)

Experienced this earlier while trying to enable the archive invalidation workaround for Oblivion (Steam version). Vortex crashed, a 0kb BSA was created and Oblivion.ini was truncated, left containing only my manual edits. I was pleasantly surprised to see Vortex update and address the issue while I was trying to do the same.

However, minor issues remain. It appears enabling the slider under Settings>Workarounds fails to actually create a BSA and make the necessary changes to Oblivion.ini. An entry is created in MODS but my initial attempt to enable it did not place a BSA in the Data directory. Subsequently disabling and re-enabling the entry under MODS did place a 1kb BSA in the Data directory. Also, the BSA isn't added to SArchiveList in Oblivion.ini. The same issues are present with FNV.

What I did with Oblivion, is a shut off the Vortex AI, and started OBMM and had it make the Archive Invalidation.

DO NOT click "reset the Dates" in OBMM thogh

I've just manually added Vortex - BSA Redirection.bsa to the start of SArchiveList after finally convincing Vortex to actually create the BSA.

In regard to Fallout NV, sometimes Vortex AI installs properly, sometimes it doesn't. The one time it didn't install for me, I first verified that the Redirection BSA had been deployed to the game data folder. I then copied the INI tweaks to the game INI. Everything worked after that.

One thing that saved my FNV, was FalloutCustom.ini. Vortex doesn't know about it and left it alone.
