Erotic Bethesda Mods and Sexuality

It would be interesting to see more realistic 'adult' mods added such as an island civilization where nudity, or seminudity, is not such a taboo. Many cultures have had bare breasted women as normality and continue to do so in some areas of the world. A modded island could be seen as mildly erotic but its purpose could be to create a society something like the Ancient Egyptian one or African tribal ones or Pacific Islander ones. Costumes would be more 'authentic' if seminudity or nudity was allowed. The emphasis would be not on titillation but on more immersive game play.

Such things as 'erotic' fertility dances could be seen as part of a culture and not as a sexual display created to entertain.

The island mod is only one idea though I am not sure how such changes could be made to Skyrim, or other games, while not moving too far away from canon.

Interesting, I was doing some lore research today and discovered information on a 1E and 2E race of man called the Kothringi. They looked much like Nedes but interbreeding with Argonians apparently made their skin look metallic and reflective, but that may just be a myth. They were known to prefer nudity and would typically only wear clothing when they went outside their native lands.

Although they are now extinct, it would be cool if there were some flashback type mods that would give players a glance at some of the lesser known races of tamriel and akavir.

Over all "sex" sells in any market.

*facepalm*

Totaly miss the point, there isn't anything to sell. See there isn't such a thing like just a testemony chick besinde the car you wanna sell, its the virtualization of sexual phantasies for the modders, and you can bet many of them have weird phantasies. I mean there where rape mods in the past.

For me its the same category like marriage mods and this overwellming demand of living and virtual life, its a mental sickness caused by narcistic disfunctions.

JoeOGrant is right on the point that it is unhealthy for your mindset, but i dissagree on the relationship issue. First because most couples lie to each other anyway and disguise each other on dayly basis, secound because the people who are so fascinated by this kind of sexuality we see in mods (Hentai mostly) don't have a girlfriend anyway. For me this goes hand in hand with other symptomes we see in the virtual world just as god syndrom programing, hackers and so on. Narcistic personality disorder.

Some people like to watch people being objectified in their games and it's not exclusively male. I don't know why but it doesn't sound like "sexual liberated" but more for titilation purposes. If they want it, it's fine, they can mod it in. It's not for everyone and certainly not for someone like me. Where I do get annoyed is where the developer creates content for the sake of titilation, they should know better.

I think you are missing the point. I have studied in political science, Marketing, psychology, electronics engineering, 3d graphics and animation, ect.... Sex sells period. I have uploaded over 100 mods for video games publically and privately that i have created. And through my experience the most popular of mods that I have shared are of an erotic nature or mods with sex appeal with atleast 100,000 downloads or more... I have helped designed costumes for video game character for SE which in all likelihood would be very appealing to the human eye for either male or female in a sexual nature... I have helped design animation that add a sensual appeal in game play.... ect....

In my experience as well as other research done by numerous institutions and universities the data will show "sex" sells. For example there was a "rolling stones" magazine cover with a very provocative woman on the cover which sold over twice as many copies as the alternative cover of the same magazine sold in other nations which would not allow the provocative cover. Even if you are not actaully selling anything given you are advocating something of a sexual nature it will cause more attention than something that is not...

It would be hard to make an arguement that "sex" doesn't sell with so much empirical data that exist that would suggest so. Maybe you as a person might not think so but a larger majority of the world populous does buy into this...

I would think arguing that "sex" doesn't sell or trying to make a point that shifts beyond the topic is kinda be pointless... but since I am open minded to your rebuttal it would be interesting to see how you argue this...

But beyond the point anything in excess can become boring or something of less desire. For JoeOGrant I see it as he has experienced something that he has just moved beyond, concidering the fact JoeOGrant has admitted to using such mods before, going back to the point "sex" does sell...

It's really nothing to be ashamed about for being attracted to mods of an erotic or senual nature, Its just human nature. As beings we have an instinct to spread our genes in the form of sexuality even if it's construed to evolved sociality through media outlets. Anything in an attractive sexual nature will overwhelme any induvidual, yet a majority of people might try to deny this publiclly. To a certain degree we have become evolved human beings that still can not be desensitised easily to sexual drives in any form.

I agree with Colourwheel but go further in that sex does not have to be blatant to sell. At university, while doing semiotics and related communications studies, I learned that the more subtle use of sexuality, of sexual symbolism, is to be found all through successful advertising. The shape of a bottle of CocaCola is not accidental and a woman walking past a new car, her body language, can suggest sex though she is fully dressed. We once looked at an advertisement showing a room with a table, a bottle of champagne, a large window with a view of the Eiffel Tower and were told that we were seeing sex being used to sell the champagne. Sex sells is in body language, shapes, colors and much else. Of course the more obvious stuff also sells very well.

Bloodmoon had bare ass nekked bezerker nords, wearing only a furry cap and boots with a large axe just wandering around in the snow. Of course they were wearing the standard undies though, but everyone used the better bodies mod. Not even because of the nudity though

I'am not talking about a virtual naked shoulder, i'am talking about rape mods. Check this japanizesed stuff out, it screams in your face : PEDOPHILE

I checked out a few profiles who did translations for just sex mods and the first thing i saw on their profil was manga schoolgirls all over the place. Are you kidding me? Everyone who can rub two brain cells together knows whats going on in such a mind.

Don't bore me with stuff you studied, i saw you rhetorik at work on gun debates, total blinkered specialist and this virtual stuff underlines the seperation from reality.

Do yourself a favour, look for a good book about computer addiction among kids and read "Inside Anomynous", This you maybee find in the rental library for a few dollar any you can skip your marketing hogwash. Modders don't sell something, modder wanna get attention for their doing because of the doing, They advertise for recognition, this goes hand in hand with the stuff i described already. You would wonder for how mess of them its realy the hobby to just create something they wanna see for own intrest. This isn't a collectiv blameing but should all you remind that psychology is always number one if you deal with people.

Evidently either my warning didn't take or you didn't believe me
Banned.
Bben46
I really don't think JoeOGrant was advocating any kind of erotic or sexual mods in specific. Yet i will agree some video game mods are very disturbing to me. But I still fail see your arguement here... yet going back to the original point why you even began to try to argue about insinuating that "sex" doesn't sell to begin with...

If you look at things in an animalistic point of view our only real drive and purpose is to reproduce and create offspring. But Humans have evolved socially where it's more of a sexual drive in a senual manor of pleasure reguardless of the intent to reproduce. Yet we still have the instinct to spread our genes reguardless...

For the people that are constantly harping about nudity and skimpy outfits not being 'Lore Friendly'

Actually, they are. If something appeared in or was alluded to in a previous game - it is lore. Nudity was included in Daggerfall, (17 years ago in 1996) - Google it if you can't believe it. And as far as revealing armor/outfits - for both male and female. - have you actually looked at the forsworn in Skyrim?

My own take on it - These are ADULT games. It says so in the description and in the reviews. If the sight of a naked (or skimpily dressed) computer rendered representation of a human (or demi-human) body bothers you, you shouldn't be playing adult games. (And you should probably stay out of art museums.). If you cannot behave like an adult, go back to your Lego Star Wars - oops, The lego Leia has a skimpy outfit . How about Mario? Nope, Peach looks too anime. Guess you are just out of luck.

If you are between 13 and 18, you are not supposed to be looking at the adult mods, and can be banned for doing so.

If you are under 13 - you are not supposed to be here anyway. Does your mommy know you play adult rated games? :whistling:

I wondered about anime/manga in the past.... as most of it that I see is young girls in dresses so short you can see their undies when standing upright... boys carrying absurdly large swords...... I mean, seriously, is "anime" japanese for "Porn"?

I will grant though, that I have seen some really good anime, that wasn't quite so overtly sexual..... Grave of the Fireflys, et al.

As for sexuality in mods... Well, give someone the ability to mod a game, and you can bet sex mods will soon be coming out...... Just human nature.
