greyday01
There are a lot of tutorials and discussions about how vortex works at managing mods. I haven't seen much information about how it works when making mods. If you want to add textures or meshes to a mod you are making where would you drop the files? In skyrims main Data folder or is there a separate folder for your mod? Is there an easy way to separate out all your files from those added by other mods? I've barely touched on using Vortex. I just put it on my laptop but I use my desktop for both gaming and modding so I know almost nothing about how Vortex works. Anyway could someone point me to some tutorials, preferably Youtube about using Vortex and the creation kit?
HadToRegister
Just drop the files the files in the data folder, vortex should detect them, then you can enable, disable, delete them with vortex after that.Or when you save the mod, zip it up like you would for upload and drag and drop it into Vortex's MOD tab page and install it normally
rmm200
Do set up a dashboard shortcut for the Creation Kit. I have ones for both that and SSEEdit.Makes life a lot easier. To make Creation Kit's life easier, set up a small profile with just the mods you want to work on and their prereqs.Works great - I just finished using the CK to convert a LE mod. Pickysaurus
I've actually been thinking of making a little Vortex extension that extends what you can do with Vortex + CK. I don't know if I'll get around to make it though. I had planned to have Vortex watch the data folder and after you've finished in CK it'll copy any new/modified files into either a new mod or a mod you've selected. rmm200
One thing I do after any Creation Kit change is Deploy (somewhat counter-intuitive), to get my changes written back to the mod staging directory.
