I downloaded the frontier, witch is a little over 12 gb , with vortex, but vortex kept ramping up its resource usage until it had eaten all my ram and caused my computer to crash right after the download completed, now the mod is stuck on finalizing for the last 3 hours and I cannot find the mod file in the appropriate folders, or stop it from finalizing. help, please, ive been looking forward to this for years, and something always has to go wrong for me right before the moment of truth....

Keep at it. I am intrigued by this mod.. I am also not sure Fallout NV is stable enough to handle it.

I am very interested in user feedback.

First, locate the mod archive. It should be wherever you have Vortex/Downloads defined. You don't want to have to download it again.

(Note for the future: download huge mods manually. Less to go wrong)

Well maybe first - blow Vortex away. Use Task Manager if necessary.

Validate the archive using WinZip. Vortex does not work well with broken downloads.

Start Vortex and drag the mod to the Vortex file drop area.

Click Install. What happens?

Click Enable.

Click Deploy. What happens?

Same problem. Went through Vortex to download The Frontier. (Will do it manually for any large mods in the future, live and learn). The Frontier has been finalizing for 4 days now. Here are the things I've done, with no success:

1) Restarted Vortex (after killing it in task manager)

2) Looked for any trace of a file in my download files (New Vegas, and every other game I mod just in case)

3) Restarted my PC

4) Did a complete PC search for "Frontier"... (hold the phone...)

OK. I was searching SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Fallout New Vegas. But I forgot about Users\NAME\AppData\Roaming\Vortex\downloads\falloutnv.

Much apologies, great oof. I'll show myself out.

-OR- you could have clicked the DOWNLOADS tab, then in the Progress Column, set the filter to FAILED, FINISHED, or IN PROGRESS, then selected DELETE

I have had good luck downloading and installing it through Vortex. I am premium member, might make a difference. Frontier/FNV is plenty stable provided you have installed all the prerequisites that the Frontier team advise. And those are pretty much standard, (NVAC, NVTF, JIP, etc.)
