SmoothButtocks
This is really weird and concerning for me (as I don't know if my saves will actually stick around) and was wondering if there was something I need to change in order to have the saves actually appear as files again. The profile I'm using is set to use it's own saves (it's also the only profile I use, dunno why I set it to use it's own saves), but the saves aren't appearing in the normal save directory either. This is about all the info I can give on the subject, cause it's all I know about what's going on.I'm assuming that the saves exist in the steam cloud, but aren't saving onto my system, but that's the only assumption I can make.Screenshots of missing saves, but still being in game:https://imgur.com/a/hMuMFGWVortex version: 1.4.9Game: Enderal Forgotten stories SE (Steam)36 modsWindows 10 x64 16gb RamEdit: I've actually located the saves. For some reason they're being stored in Skyrim SE's save directory. Still concerning, but eases my nerves about losing saves. Also, everything else including SKSE scripts/logs and such are being stored in SE's directory instead of Enderal's. Weird, but guess it just means I can't play Skyrim SE while I have Enderal installed and modded. Edited April 10, 2021 by SmoothButtocks

I've decided to just uninstall both completely and fresh install Enderal by itself. Thank you for the response.
Zanderat
Enderal is only a Skyrim mod. It's saves should be in My Documents with the other Skyrim saves.
AugustaCalidia
My Enderal FS saves are in Documents\My Games\Enderal\Saves. I have two Enderal profiles, and their saves are found in the Documents folder mentioned.
Norstaera
I have a different setup and my saves are not going to the current profile. Game starts up fine, new game has mods I want.SkyrimSE, Vortex 1.4.9, under gaming directory and not program files Profile 1 I played a long time w/ several mods and the latest save in its (proper) save folder is 746. Decided to try a different group of mods, created Profile 2. Profile 2 has its own game settings and its own saves. Therefore new saves should be under Profile 2. They are not. All saves are under saves\Profile1. Messed around w/ the Skyrim.ini, still couldn't get saves to go where they should. Today I created Profile 3 so I could document my efforts and try to find a solution. NO DICE. No saves in Profile 3. Here's what I did:Deleted Skyrim.ini and SkyrimPrefs.ini from game, my games, vortex, and vortex profile folder (Profile 2). Previously, when I created Profile 2 I did not delete anything. creating a new profile in Vortex: creates a new folder in C:\Users\Norst\AppData\Roaming\Vortex\skyrimse\profiles\ with new Skyrim.ini and SkyrimPrefs.ini files Updates these .ini’s in C:\Users\Norst\AppData\Roaming\Vortex\skyrimse Updates the Skyrim.ini in C:\Users\Norst\Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition It does not update the SkyrimPrefs.ini in C:\Users\Norst\Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition It does not create a folder w/ the profile code in C:\Users\Norst\Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition\Saves It does not create a new Skyrim.ini in C:\Gaming\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition. There is only the Skyrim_Default.ini Only the Skyrim.ini in C:\Users\Norst\Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition has this line: SLocalSavePath=Saves\Profile3 Copying Skyrim.ini from My Games\Skyrim Special Edition to ...Steam\...\Skyrim Special EditionStarting new game. Still going to prev. game 2 profiles ago (Profile 1)Still no new folder created in My Games\...\saves. Copied the profile folder in C:\Users\Norst\AppData\Roaming\Vortex\skyrimse and pasted it into C:\Users\Norst\Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition\Saves. I deleted the contents from the new folder so the save folder is clean.new game test3saves not in new saves\Profile 3 folder. Still going to prev. game: saves\Profile 1Copying Skyrim.ini from My Games\Skyrim Special Edition to C:\Users\Norst\AppData\Roaming\Vortex\skyrimseStarting new game, test4saves not in new saves\Profile 3 folder. Still going to prev. game: saves\Profile 1Copying Skyrim.ini from My Games\Skyrim Special Edition to C:\Users\Norst\AppData\Roaming\Vortex\skyrimse\profiles\Profile 3Starting new game, test5saves not in new saves\Profile 3 folder. Still going to prev. game: saves\Profile 1Transfered (move, not copy) saves from where they currently reside under Profile to current profile, Profile 3. Will try to continue, then save. Game couldn’t find the saves I transferred. Found other saves, but not the ones I hoped for. I don't know what else to do. It's not game breaking, but it is annoying to make a new profile for a different mod setup and be unable to see the saves for this configuration under the pertinent profile. What do you mean by "SkyrimSE, Vortex 1.4.9, under gaming directory and not program files"Do you mean you have Skyrim SE and Vortex installed in the My Games directory rather than Program Files (x86)?You shouldn't do that if so.Are you naming your character the SAME NAME in each profile? First, make sure when you create a profile that you have the Save Games set to YES, (I leave game settings set to NO) I have SIX SKyrim Profiles, with 259, 344, 381, 2, 323, and 324 mods respectively. The SAVE GAMES for each profile is in C:\users\MY NAME\Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition\Saves\1pOarCluf\ C:\users\MY NAME\Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition\Saves\F80nEbwMh\ C:\users\MY NAME\Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition\Saves\OFZIBZLw\ Etc etc... Solution Norstaera Posted April 12, 2021 Solution Share Posted April 12, 2021 AHA AHA AHA AHA ..... hmmmWhy is it that posting a problem and stepping away for a brief time triggers a path to the solution? Don't answer that, I'll just feel sillier. Anyway, I tried a different approach and did a search on my C: drive for Profile1. Yeah, yeah, yeah, got the expected results and then BAM, I saw a SkyrimCustom.ini in My Games\Skyrim Special Edition. I opened it and buried near the bottom I found it: SLocalSavePath=Saves\Profile1.Ditched SkyrimCustom.ini and suddenly my saves showed up. Started a new game just to be sure and all is good.
