What does that mean? What's going on the the Skyrim nexus, why is it suddenly not working? (not that it's been working terribly well for the past few days but now it seems to be completely dead...)

There's a distant cousin of mine... he's a very very handsome little boy, cute, with lovely brown eyes and sandy brown hair. Sadly... well, he's extremely mentally and physically disabled; his mother was in labor with him for an entire week because, for whatever reason, the doctors refused to do a C-section like they should have. As a result of his head being stuck for so long, his brain was deprived of blood, and as a result, it was severely and permanently damaged. It's especially tragic, because a simple, routine c-section would have saved him, and he could have been a perfectly healthy child...
He's now a seven year old boy. He is unable to do anything for himself; he can't speak, he can't walk, he can't crawl, he can't sit up, he can't feed himself... his parents had no choice but to give him to a foster family because they simply were unable to provide him the special care he needs.
For several years now he has been fostered and cared for by a lesbian couple, and they're absolutely wonderful - they can care for him, and they love him very dearly.
And, also for several years, they have been desperately trying to get permission to take him to the United States for stem cell therapy, using his little sister's stem cells that were harvested from her umbilical cord blood, in hopes that it may, at least to some degree, improve the function of his brain and help it recover from the damage.
However, the judge is an idiot and refuses to allow it. I don't know the reason why.
But frankly, it upsets me, because there is no valid reason I can think of why this little boy should not have the stem cell therapy. If there is even a small chance that it may help him, I think it is more than worth it. Plus, the stem cells they intend to use were taken from his sister's cord blood right after she was born - what can possibly be wrong with that? Absolutely nothing, in my mind.
Darn it, we need to put this wonderful medical technology to use to try and help people like him. :(

Anyone else like playing as a low intelligence character? I do, not really sure why. I just think a hero with a major flaw or disability of some form is awesome, even though in this game it really doesn't make much of a difference.
But maybe it's better that way, I really didn't like how people in Fallout and Fallout 2 treated a low intelligence character like garbage (which, sadly, is a reflection of how people who are mentally challenged are often treated in real life).
I think it makes my hero special (in a POSITIVE way), different, and extremely lovable. He is not perfect, but he still rocks. :)
Plus, I simply the Intelligence stat to be not very useful... I can play just the same without it. :tongue:

Today's downside.. someone wrecked my lock for my locker with chewing gum. It was so disgusting, I had to actually touch it just to enter the combination and open the lock. It was already hard and dry so I wasn't even going to try getting it off, I just tossed the whole thing in the garbage. Now I have to pay 2.50$ for a new one... at least it's a good thing I don't have anything stored in my locker... (the only reason I even need one is to store my bag during biology cause bags aren't allowed in the labs, but I explained what happened to my teacher and she understands)
On the upside, I did get perfect on my geography test from last week.

Hi, is anyone else feeling slightly suicidal over how they've utterly and completely crappified and destroyed the Dark Brotherhood and made the Thieves Guild junk?
These two outlaw guilds were what made Oblivion worth playing, for me. My hawt and awesome Breton mage was epic in these guilds.
Now they suck, and my evil people have nothing awesome to be awesome in. I am very, very, very depressed. Oh, and I have to leave for school now. This can't be any worse.
In fact, all the side quests now suck. Which sucks, because the side quests were what MADE Oblivion. They were 100% what gave Oblivion that incredible replay value, what still keeps us playing it after five years.
Now... it's all gone... there's nothing now. :(

Sigh, how did I know this would happen? I haven't gotten there yet but everyone is saying it wasn't very good.
I loved the DB so very much in Oblivion. I'm extremely disappointed.

Great, now I'm so sad and disappointed I feel like jumping off a bridge. This just totally and completely destroyed my day.
Also, why did they make vampires exactly the same? Holy crap this is just too awful.

Woah, the AI here is definitely improved over Oblivion. Well, sorta.
I dropped an extra sword on the ground, cause I already had an identical one, and a passing guard says "You should be more careful what you leave lying around!" or something like that. He actually picks up the sword, and then shoves it back into my inventory.
Also some funny dialog. I was running around up in the mountains and overheard a male Orc bandit ranting to himself about "lyin' harlot, that brat aint mine!" OMG HAHAHA.... :biggrin:

So yeah, during the opening sequence, you can choose to follow Hadvar, the Imperial soldier dude, or you can follow that long blonde Stormcloak (rebel) dude.
...Which is better? Will it have a large impact on the story later on?
My first character, an Imperial fighter woman follow the soldier... had to kill a bunch of rebels, which I felt kind of sad about. But he was a nice guy, even asks me to join up with the very people who were about to behead me.
Second time around, as a male Breton mage, I followed the rebel - and I got to kill that annoying loudmouthed woman from the beginning who wanted to chop off my head for no reason. Yay!
But... is one considered "good" or "evil"? Which? And what difference does each choice make?
Also, is anyone having any luck creating cool looking characters? I kind of tried to make a reincarnation of my extremely hawt and awesome Oblivion character, a male Breton mage, but I think this "new" version of him kinda looks like he fell off the ugly tree. I hope someone will share some face retextures soon, I don't like these very much (all the elves look like Klingons). :sad:
It's also going to be a little weird, getting used to seeing all these bearded men, since all the ones in Oblivion were clean shaven... hehe.

Woah, so I'm not the only having massive issues with the UI?
Oh my gawwwd this is really, really upsetting. Curse them for catering to stupid consoles this time around and making a mess of the PC version. I don't think I can play again until this is fixed.

OMG OMG OMG WTFBBQ.
What is up with the HUD/menus? Why the heck can I not click on anything, I can only navigate it with the keyboard keys? This really , REALLY annoying.
Also, how do I make the camera stop annoying me? I try setting the "look" sensitivity, left and right it moves fine but up and down I have to slide the mouse over the mousepad dozens of times to get it to move. And it bungee jumps all over the place.
I'm not very happy so far...

Is there a mod someplace that changes Khajiit to have human heads like they did in Daggerfall? I can swear I've seen something like that before but I can't find it, I know I have seen plenty such mods for Argonians.

I hope that racism plays a big role in Skyrim. It makes the world far more believable and interesting.
This 100%.
I want to prove myself worthy, being the race that I am, before those that would despise me!
(kinda like how I needed to prove myself as a dwarf, and especially as a dwarven woman, in DA. Dwarf society is quite... male dominated, to say the least.)

How do you get custom music to play in Oblivion? And not just play randomly anywhere, but how would you get some custom music specifically for outdoors or battle? Also does anyone recommend any particular tracks?

Oh Lordie I have no idea how this could have happened. Somehow, I've got over 30 GB of junk in my Data folder, which is likely why I'm having such long load times, etc...
Most of it is assorted junk in my meshes/textures folder... but I can't just go deleting it because I have so many mods that may use a lot of it... what can I do? How can I safely clean out my Data folder and get rid of junk? :(

I've tried reinstalling it several times, I'm positive I have it installed correctly, and the armor fix, but with Breezes body I'm still seeing a lot of gaps with the armor meshes, especially around the neck and wrists... I really don't understand what's going on, cause I did run archive invalidation. Any idea what I could be doing wrong? :(
Also, I'm having problems with the skin of the body not matching the face, especially with hispanic males:

A certain book says that the Arena Champion was assassinated by an elf that posed as an adoring fan to get into his good graces...

Must go back in time to 3E 434 Cyrodiil and KILL HIM!!!! (and tweak him via the ever so lovely construction set so he doesn't keep coming back to life!)
My Oblivion hero is far too clever to fall for such a ruse. He's a legendary sorcerer. And a very powerful vampire.
I KNOW he is not dead. He is still alive somewhere in 4E 201, lurking... I know he is. After all, he is a vampire! (and is a Breton, too, but I'm not clear about their life spans, so I'm not sure whether or not he would still be alive if he were mortal. But he is not mortal, so I know he's still out there somewhere!)
