  1. The digging into the details part of "big picture" perspective ... https://www.gocomics.com/calvinandhobbes/2021/04/09
  2. If the broken links are old Nexus Mods links then you can simply substitute the mod number into a working link. Example ... the link http://www.oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/43058 leads to a "This site can't be reached" error. The mod number 43058 is still valid and if you go to Maskar's Oblivion Overhaul and then in your browser's URL bar at the top change https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/42780 to https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/43058 it will bring you to the Auto Repair and Auto Recharge Ring mod page.
  3. Wrye Bash has no problem just installing mods and building a bashed patch ... that is primarily what it is designed for (the running of other executables is just fluff added no doubt by "feature creep" driven via requests). I run my disk version of the game using a desktop shortcut (edited to run obse_loader.exe of course as I am using the disk version ... Steam people need to use the Steam methods). Wrye Bash doesn't have a clue that I'm doing that, and ignorance is bliss.
  4. Something to consider is whether or not the silent MP3s are tailored to the length of the lines they are assigned to (so a longer silent track for long lines of text and a shorter one for short ones). My biggest beef with Elys is how long you need to wait for short lines of text (e.g. an NPC saying "Sure") and how for very long lines of text the time is too short. One size does not fit all.
  5. The FLY series by Yuravica also has individual replacers available for many armors (not all though). For anyone who is interested in a non-replacer, one was uploaded by elPatrixF ... FLY Armor and Clothing - BBB - Non-replacers
  6. You don't give much to get started on, so I'll ask some questions. What operating system? What is the exact folder path to your game install (e.g. mine is G:\Games\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion)? A complete list of mods you want (or at least some info on ones you have already tried and failed at) would also give somewhere to go from here.
  7. The previous two day's strips provide context ... https://www.gocomics.com/calvinandhobbes/2021/04/07
  8. Wrye Bash will also find a mod that is not tagged as mergeable and add it to it's list of mods from your load order that can/will be merged (normally mods that are simple edits). I don't know of any way to find out they are mergeable without running WB with those mods active in your load order to see what WB thinks about them. Ulimately wouldn't you only be interested in mods that would have some value for you in your game, or would you rather slog through some list of thousands of mods that are mergeable perhaps, but have no other feature that you'd find interesting?
  9. Got a problem? There are always ways to deal with it ... https://www.gocomics.com/calvinandhobbes/2021/04/02 ... or perhaps this is more along the lines of what you need ... https://www.gocomics.com/shoe/2021/04/04?ct=v&cti=581007

  11. I do some mixing and matching using different sources as what I call "pure replacers" myself (i.e. replacers that don't use an ESP), so my EVE installation isn't in an unaltered state.
  12. I've no experience myself with either Morrowind or Steam, but I see HadTo is still here and may have some insights to offer regarding both (HadTo has far more Elder Scrolls mileage than I do). - Edit - And I now see that HadTo was one step ahead of me ...
  13. Was there a specific reason you wanted to start the game (with OBSE support) from within Wrye Bash (full disclosure ... I am an advocate for using different tools for the job they are best at, but only that .... and my mouse and desktop shortcut work flawlessly for starting Oblivion with OBSE support, just as WB is the tool for a bashed patch).
  14. Not sure which HGEC replacers you've looked at but the recommended one is EVE HGEC Eyecandy Variants Expansion (the only one that is a complete body and equipment replacer to the best of my knowledge). The ESPs that are included with EVE are just to enable female versions of armor that has no female option available in the vanilla game (e.g. steel armor), for compatibility with some DLCs and to fix a vanilla game problem with female Khajiit that rears it's head to bite any HGEC version that doesn't address the issue.
  15. If you gotta' go why not have some fun along the way ... https://www.gocomics.com/nonsequitur/2021/03/31
  16. Just an exercise in dotting the I's and crossing the T's ... confirm that you have bBorderRegionsEnabled=0 in the [General] section of your Oblivion.ini (found in your Users\[username]\My Documents\My Games\Oblivion folder not Oblivion_Default.ini found in your game's Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion folder).
  17. How can I add a new game to Nexus Mods
  18. Look at Arthmoor's reply to a comment in the Alternative Beginnings mod comments that was started by GeorgeCorbul on Mar 17 2020 (currently back on page 4 of the comments ... take note of point number 3 in George's post and Arthmoor's reply to that point).
  19. The alternative start that I used in my current playthrough had that problem for me once I used it's method for starting the main quest. I used getstage MQ01 to identify where the main quest was stalling and then setstage MQ01 to advance to the next stage and successfully completed the main quest.
  20. Personally, I think it's your last explanation. Taken individually, we have some truly bright people here in the US. Taken collectively though? We got nothin' on a box of rocks. :D As much as you'd like to Hey, I don't think you can claim American supremacy on the content of your boxes. I won't allude to first hand knowledge of Europe or Asia and the rest of the world, but here in the land of your frozen neighbor to the north we have both plenty of rocks and no shortage of boxes. Beware of one other thing too ...since the end of the last ice age the northern part of that wonderful frozen wasteland I call home has been rebounding from the trillions of tons of ice that once weighed it down. Soon we'll be high enougn for some of those rocks to start sliding downhill (I know, as if you didn't already have enough to worry about). For some time I have had the notion that we're doomed as a species. The more we advance the less we are in concert with our small home named Earth. It's not only the financial world that demonstrates the widening gulf between haves and have nots. We are also seeing the same in the schism between the knows and know nots (or perhaps "don't want to knows" would be more accurate). At first I was thinking along the lines that our advances had halted that fundemental process that had got us to the point where we could make the advances (yes I'm in the camp that believes Darwin was correct). Without evolution what option is open beside either extinction or devolution? Then I realised that the system isn't broken, and we are in fact evolving ... into two species. Oh gee, that's for the good news..... I live in the northern part of the US, so, I will likely be one of the first to see some of those rocks. :D Our government has been doing it's best to circumvent Darwin for a couple decades now, much to the detriment of the species as a whole. Humans, are indeed their own worst enemy, and I find it highly likely that we will be our own undoing. Be it environmental, war, or simply breeding ourselves into non-existence. I hope you recall that I don't live very far "uphill" from you, and also bear in mind that perhaps not all of the rocks that roll your way deserve to be boxed along with the rest. The biggest problem with rocks is you can't always judge what they're "made of" without chipping them a bit with a hammer (a process that will not be top of the rock's list on "fun things to do"). Give my hypothesis some consideration Hey, for if I'm correct we will be the first generation of one of those two new species of the Homo lineage. Too bad we live such short lives and won't be around in a few hundred thousand years to see what the divergent evolutionary paths lead to.

  22. Have it your way, but know that what I proposed would change the animation for only those guards you don't like. All other NPCs in your game would remain exactly as they are right now.
