Sorry for the slow reply. I'm afraid that sounds like something that would be against our guidelines. More info: https://www.nexusmods.com/news/14698 It's effectively paywalling the "full" version off-site and using the mod page to advertise it with an incomplete copy. It's a bit hazy when it comes to content that isn't directly playable mod files, but if we did allow it you can bet it'd be abused by users offering half the mod on the website and the other half behind a paywall (I'm not saying this applies to you here though!). If I'm misunderstanding something then you're welcome to PM me to talk about it further.

Error message after Metro 2033 integration
Pickysaurus replied to makmellow's topic in Vortex Support
For some reason Vortex is changing the extension version from 1.0.0 to 1.0 when installing the extension. The fix is to open %appdata%\Vortex\plugins find the metro 2033 folder, open the info.json and change the version number to 1.0.0. It's very strange... -
Is there a way to actually disable mod recommendations?
Pickysaurus replied to arxerios's topic in Vortex Support
Could you elaborate a bit more on the issue? What are you doing? Which mods? When does the menu appear when you feel it shouldn't? -

I need assistance configuring Vortex on Windows 11
Pickysaurus replied to Barbara917's topic in Vortex Support
If you migrated from another PC there may also be a permission issue accessing the appdata folder. For the sake of testing rename the "Vortex" folder under appdata to "Vortex_backup" then start the app and see if you get the same error. If you don't, it means the contents of the Vortex_backup folder doesn't have the right permissions for Vortex to see/edit it. (Delete the new Vortex folder and rename the backup to undo this) -
Error message after Metro 2033 integration
Pickysaurus replied to makmellow's topic in Vortex Support
For help with the extension you can contact the uploader here: https://www.nexusmods.com/site/mods/476 It looks like it's a templated extension, so it may not fully work as expected. -
You can also change the "Source" from Nexus Mods to "Other".
-
For help with this extension, contact the developer here: https://www.nexusmods.com/site/mods/532 It looks like you just need to create the folder referenced in the error.

Thanks for providing the details on how you fixed this. I think something in 1.8 has made this issue more prevalent. Added to GitHub: https://github.com/Nexus-Mods/Vortex/issues/14324

When do you feel you had this ability? As far as I know you've only ever been able to post an article on an existing mod page, but can use the media share to post an image/video along with some text to showcase your WIP mods.

Posting the error stack without any context won't allow us to help you I'm afraid. Based on the type of error it appears that Vortex timed out when trying to connect to something online. This is either a connection problem or something on your PC blocking Vortex from communicating with the internet if I were to take a guess.

Disable them in Vortex, deploy the changes, start the game. Rinse and repeat :)

Sugestion: Search for mods dont show translations
Pickysaurus replied to free8082002's topic in Site Support
This has been mentioned a few times over the last month or two. Most recently here. You can block the "Translations" tag in your settings: https://help.nexusmods.com/article/39-how-do-i-hide-or-show-adult-or-other-specific-content If you'd like to submit a suggestion or vote on those suggested by others, you can do so at https://feedback.nexusmods.com :) -
Users on Windows 7/8/8.1 will receive the following error on start-up. The procedure entry point DiscardVirtualMemory could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNAL32.dll As of version 1.8, Vortex is no longer compatible with older versions of Windows. We recommend updating to Windows 10 or 11 where possible, but for users who cannot do that the steps below will allow them to continue modding on the last version of the app which supports their version of Windows. Download the Vortex 1.7.8 installer. (Custom location version here). Temporarily disable the internet connection to your PC - Important: Failing to do this will cause Vortex to auto-update to the latest version. Install Vortex 1.7.8 over the top of the current version. Start Vortex, ignoring any warnings about downgrading. Open "Settings -> Vortex -> Update" and select "No automatic update". Restore the internet connection to your PC and restart Vortex. Please note we cannot provide support for users on an outdated version of Vortex. If you encounter an issue it may have already been addressed in the latest release.

Based on the report your provided, you just haven't deployed the mod. Follow the instructions under the Bell icon for help fixing this. Be aware that if your game/staging folder are on an external drive it may not work if the drive isn't using an NTFS file system.
