Window for 'adding new game' as video shows is not popping up
showler replied to pintree3's topic in Vortex Support
I suspect the video was just made with an older version of Vortex and a couple of things have changed. -
Why do people keep thinking this is a problem? Vortex comes packaged with extensions for dozens of games. If it keeps re-downloading and re-installing the extension, that's because it is supposed to be there. It's part of Vortex. The extensions are tiny. Just leave them alone.

Deleting a published collection or collections.

For now you can unpublish them, I believe. Pretty much the same as making them hidden. -
Deleting any criticism of yourself is not a good look, Nexus.

Nothing to do with the companies. Nexus Mods just isn't interested in hosting interminable threads rehashing the same bad arguments over a settled discussion. Look for a news post about flag mods to see their position. -
They warn against running Vortex with admin rights. Nothing it does should require it and it can be a security risk.

The reason why you purge your mods is that the files in your data directory are not real files, they are just links. But if you copy them to another drive, Windows will treat them as real files and you'll take up more space than you need. Also, when you restore them later Vortex will be confused by them now being real files rather than links.

PS4 is really only designed to use mods that are available through the in-game mod menu and Bethesda.net.
-
You're not actually losing that space. It's a false report by Windows. If you have a 1TB drive and you install 200GB of mods you should be able to put 1.2TB on the drive as far as Windows is concerned.
-
Pretty much. The only real difference is that MO2 needs to be running in order for the "fake" files to be created, so it needs to run in the background while the game is running. I mean, the problem isn't the mod manager. It's that you seem to want to install more mods than you have room for.
-
You should be able to go over the apparent size of the drive. Other methods won't make any difference. You'll still be using the same amount of space. And you should be very careful about over-filling the C drive as it can have negative performance impact on your entire system.

If you are using the default deployment type then the files in your Data folder are not real files. They are just pointing to the real file and don't take up any significant space. Unfortunately Windows mis-reports them as taking up space when they don't.

Starfield with Vortex Extension 0.6.6 plugins data folder
showler replied to XXLpeanuts's topic in Vortex Support
Is there any chance the game location is set to the wrong folder? If it somehow thinks the Data folder is the game folder that would explain the extra Data folder. -
Vortex v1.10 is being released in Beta on Monday
showler replied to insomnious's topic in Vortex Support
Am I misreading or was this only on the beta channel? Because a couple of people here seem to be acting like this was a stable release. -
Vortex download impeded for no apparent reason
showler replied to pgmrdude's topic in Vortex Support
It can't tell whether you have Windows 10 or not. The message was added when support for Windows 7 was dropped. I have no idea why you would think Nexus Mods would be serving Windows updates. -
Question about changing file names of mods manually
showler replied to bluger0711's topic in Vortex Support
You would need to deploy the files again. -
Technically correct if the first one is the group you belong to and the second one is a title.
-
Uninstalling Vortex does NOT remove any of the information the previous version had stored. You have to have done something wrong, like randomly deleting the Vortex AppData information.

PS5 and PS4 Bethesda games (like Fallout 4) can only get mods from the in-game mod menu through Bethesda.net. Mods from this site can't be used on consoles.

There's a button on the reply section that opens up a listing of all the emojis. Will that not suffice?

It actually wasn't working correctly at the time they made this post. It was only showing some old posts, a couple of new ones and only showed one page worth in total.
