  1. Now THAT was an interesting read. :) Thank You. Getting Beth games to work under linux is challenging..... and I don't know of many that have actually managed it. Why not just have a windows partition to run games under..... I suspect that would be a LOT easier. Also, I don't think the script extender will work at all under wine.... but, not 100% sure on that. Welcome to Nexus. :D
  2. The problem with only cloning one directory is, you won't update the windows registry when you clone. So, all the utilities will be looking in the wrong place for the games. What he is suggesting is, if your new drive is larger, clone the entire existing drive to the new one..... According to theory, Steam does have the capability to be moved elsewhere on your computer. There should be some threads around here about that somewhere...... One last thought, will acronis clone a gpt file system? (windows 10 native install) Unless things have changed, I don't think it will..... I do believe that was the reason we went to Macrium Reflect. I KNOW it will do GPT file system, and its free for home use as well.
  3. Yeah, lets improve security by breaking ad-blockers, you know, the first line of defense against malicious ads, the favorite avenue for scammers these days....... Nice to know that this isn't anything that will be happening any time soon though.
  4. Do you have all the DLC as well? I don't see any of them in your load list...... And I suspect SEUE expects them to be there. Which would explain why it doesn't work.
  5. It was my understanding that Chrome was going to incorporate the ad-blocking features directly into the browser..... Which would be fine, if it works as well as Ublock does......
  6. There is a hard limit of 255 esp/esm files. Go beyond that, and the game will choke.
  7. Hhhmmm..... I hope I didn't pay too much for the memories I have now then...... Some of 'em just suck. :D
  8. Oh come on, why should he let something so incredibly insignificant as being wrong, stand in the way of a good rant? It's entertaining to read at least. :D What's funny is, the fact that he IS so wrong, and this is information that has been commonly known just this side of forever. I decided I might just as well go for 'supporter', and DOUBLE my download speed, (yes, I use an ad-blocker) and saw that for less than 2 bucks more, I could go premium for a month. (not that I have been doing a lot of downloading of late....) So, since Nexus has been providing me this wonderful service for so long, I thought I might just as well spend the extra couple bucks, just as a sort of 'Thank You'. :D
  9. The railroad bases their actions on the thought that synths are 'people'. Now, I wonder, how many 'people', have they actually memory wiped? Not referring to syths here, but, actual humans. So far as I know, it simply isn't possible to wipe a human brain, and then implant new memories. Thus, proving that syths are NOT people.
  10. Hi Lady. :) Welcome to Nexus.
  11. Check out driveables of the commonwealth. They have some truly neat stuff available.
  12. Build high disables previs, and precombines ONLY in the buildable area, and a little bit outside of it. Combined with scrap everything, and NOT disabling precombines with the ini edit, makes almost everything scrappable within the build area. Yes, you have to do it yourself, but, LOTS of good materials there. There are also the various 'clean and smooth' mods for settlements. You start with a clean slate. Just flat dirt in the build area. Don't know what they do with all the stuff that isn't there any more. Do you get the resources that would have generated? Or do you start at zero? I don't know.
  13. That's usually a missing master crash..... How many mods are you currently running?
  14. What processor? I run oldrim at ugrids 7, and have zero framerate issues. Doesn't matter where I am. Also may want to look at background processes. The 32 bit game engine barely makes use of two processor cores, so, its more about clock speed, than how many cores you have.
  15. Yep, normal. Hair and hats/helms use the same slot. I think there is a mod "Hair under your hat", or some such, drifting about somewhere.
  16. Yes, exactly. Except for craters still being hot, actually, even that wouldn't be a thing. But this is a retro "sci-fi", it's effectively fantasy and realism is deliberately not a thing. Remnants of the old world and radiation magitastically lasting forever is every bit part of the fantasy, just as much as radiation making immortal zombies and giant insects being at all a possibility (their method of respiration is not viable at any larger of a scale than they're already at). If you want more rads in the wasteland, that fits the fantasy just fine. Yeah, but, Radiation mutated huge critters have been a thing in sci-fi for quite some time. :D
  17. There was only one modification I was looking for when I started doing this I'm somewhat ashamed to say. Even that turned out to be a PITA for Skyrim because there were so many choices. Yeah...... I find myself looking for something specific, and paging thru, thinkin' "Oooo, that would be cool......" And I end up with 200 mods in my load order.....
  18. Have you started the game at least once? Is the ini file marked as Read Only? (ini file should be in c:\users\yourusername\documents\my games\fallout: new vegas)
  19. If you have played the game vanilla, and there are aspects you know you want changed, you can pretty much bet there will be a mod for it. :)
  20. Any particular reason you are building a new machine, with hardware that is several generations old? Also, Your MOBO states it supports 6th gen intel processors, I suspect the 4th gen you have on your list there won't work.
  21. Laptop? Really not much you can do hardware-wise. You have a fair load list there, but, I am not really seeing any one thing you could lose, to increase framerate. It's more a cumulative problem, than anything else. Might take a look at background processes, and see if you have things loading that you don't really need. (and some laptop manufacturers are FAMOUS for loading startup with all sorts of useless stuff.....)
  22. In all reality, there would be very little of anything left. Most man-made structures, regardless of construction method, if not maintained, would be gone. Most of downtown boston would be a vegetation covered hill. Some of the bomb craters would likely still be 'hot', but, for the most part, radiation just wouldn't be that much of an issue.
  23. I saw an article on Yahoo today, about the press treatment of Donald.... 90% negative, with a fair few stories being outright false. That said, if folks are offended by political ads....... they must spend an awful lot of time being offended, either that, or they don't watch television, listen to the radio, or much else, for that matter......
