In the last few months of Ronnie Reagan's last term as Pres, the "line item veto" passed. It allowed the pres to removed specific parts of a bill, while the rest went on to become law. A couple months later, when Slick Willy was elected, it was suddenly declared 'unconstitutional' by the SCOTUS. Amazing, huh?

There will always be those that go out and support whatever candidate their party puts up, simply because it is from "their party", regardless if the guy is a flaming idiot or not. Besides, I have zero hope that the american people will EVER figure out that if they want change, then putting the same folks back into congress every election cycle is NOT the way to go about it. Just proves to me that collectively, americans have got nothin' on a box of rocks.

I always thought there should be a 'none of the above' option on the ballot, and if nota won, all the candidates would go home, and we would start over again. :)

Hilary lives in her own world, and believes whatever is most convenient for her....... Reality has nothing to do with it.

I don't think CPUID, or the built in hardware monitor permanently keep track of data. I agree that the documentation for the program is somewhat lacking...... but, as it seems to have the ability to run in "ghost mode", I.E. no gui interface, I would suspect that the program needs to be running in the background to data log temps and such.

Some of the voice-acting was good, some of the voice-acting, was not.... Farengar springs immediately to mind...... Most of his lines are just dead-panned, even when he should be excited....... It gets a bit better as the game progresses, but, still.... That, and some of the 'random' dialogue was truly inane..... Once again, Farengar seems to always plugging the mages college, and if I am interested in magic, I should check it out..... even while I am standing their wearing my Arch-Mages Robes.......

What I found really funny was, the leading convention of conservative, 2nd amendment supporters, has banned weapons of any sort. :) there are metal detectors, and the whole nine yards. Priceless. :D

Well, my sister was / is eleven years my junior...so yes I've changed more nappies than I care to remember, attended countless Tea Parties where my dining companions were stuffed teddies and Barbies and more dance recitals than I care to recall. If asked I will decline..definitely not interested in the job And I think THAT should be the highest qualification for it. :) Give it to someone that DOESN'T want it, and tell if they don't do a good job this term, they get a second to get it right. :D

Marvel Comics wants Loki to run for pres...... I would be down for that... Unfortunately, he would be disqualified, as he wasn't born in the States....... I suppose Cthulu would suffer the same fate. Damn.

It's not that I find your premise not valid but come November we have to vote for someone or against someone. I prefer the former given my druthers, but I insist on knowing the clowns that are my choices first. Yeah I know that one is Hillary, but the other...well I find it incredulous that it might be Trump. Given that choice in November, it's much akin to playing Russian Roulette with two chambers filled. Only two? :) I know I don't want another democrat in office........ Hobson's Choice?

If all the rotten fruit fell out, I don't think there would be anything left. Trouble is, the president can't really change anything. He can advocate for various bills, and veto those he doesn't like, but, he can't get legislation passed on his own, only congress can submit stuff to the pres, and congress has absolutely zero motivation to change anything. One of the reasons I think term limits for congress would be a REALLY good idea. But, as congress would have to get that law to the presidents desk, for his signature, I don't ever see it happening.

That is exactly what is happening. No one on the republican side wants to upset the applecart, that provides them with such an awesome revenue stream. Both sides of the aisle are much to invested in leaving things just the way they are, because it is the most profitable for THEM.

No such thing as an 'honest politician'. They are as mythical as dragons, and unicorns. They ALL lie, cheat, steal. Not a single one has any honor left at all. Why aren't they all in prison? Because they have the money to spend on good lawyers that do NOT prove their innocence, (simply because they are NOT innocent.) they just manage to drag things out for years on minor technical issues. It's a tactic that has worked well for decades. Why should today be any different? I don't support ANY of the current crop of candidates. I haven't for years. I don't vote FOR a candidate, I vote AGAINST the other guys. There hasn't been a presidential candidate that I actually wanted to vote FOR in quite some time. (forever?) Politics in the US has become a business. Get elected, stay in office, bilk the taxpayers for as much as you can, make sure your special interests are taken care of, as they are the money men that keep you in office. Our government has sold us down the river. Doesn't matter what party they come from. They are ALL crooks.

Whoever said humans could learn from their mistakes? :D

I wholeheartedly concur with this assessment. In addition, I don't have a lot of faith in the public school system today, so, I most certainly would NOT want them delving into mental health issues of their students....... Besides, isn't it the PARENTS responsibility to look out for the health of their kids? (Yeah, I know, not that they are doing a bang-up job of it.....)

It all depends on which theory of time travel you subscribe to. If there is only "ONE" timeline, then yep, you could most certainly totally screw the pooch. Another theory, however, is if you go back and change something significant, you simply create another branch of time. A 'parallel' time path, as it were. So, if you went back, and killed your grandfather, before he had any kids, you wouldn't immediately cease to exist, you would simply have create a new timeline, independent of the one that you actually lived in.

The same could be said of the Democrats and Billary. Good thing that orange suits her.... And this isn't any different from how it ever has been. We get a couple candidates, both of which have their own problems, and then we get to pick the one we dislike the list. We aren't voting FOR someone, so much as we are voting AGAINST the 'other guy'. (or gal, as the case may be.)

Isn't Arthmoor doing a 'cut content' mod for Skyrim? "Cutting Room Floor", or some such?

I read an article today, that claimed that for each 'illegal' worker, it created 1.2 jobs for 'american' workers...... it also went on to claim that exporting all the illegals would devastate the agricultural industry, and cause the price of food to skyrocket, etc. All sorts of gloom and doom predictions, pointing out that illegal (low wage) workers, were the salvation of our economy...... Granted, the migrant workers do a fair bit of work that I sure wouldn't want to do..... (harvesting watermelon, anyone?) But, does that imply that ALL migrant workers are illegals? I would hope not......
-
Given the current crop of candidates, I fear that no matter who wins, the 'average american' will lose......

She said that in public? How did she handle everyone immediately falling on the floor, and rolling around in paroxysms of laughter?

I found it most amusing that The Donald could pass of any lies he cared to as truth, UNTIL he stated that the Iraq war was based on lies. (the truth) And THEN the republican party came out in force against him, for "lieing"...... Too Funny.

Indeed, I could see going back to 1983ish, and telling my young self that investing in Microsoft, and Apple, when the opportunities arose, would be a really good idea. :D
-
Conditions are ONLY 24 hrs in the past..no do overs. Hhhmmm..... That could be a problem then. :D How about suggesting to George that invading Iraq/Afghanistan is NOT a good idea....... Not sure how I would convince him though......

Just to play devils advocate..... (and, assuming I could go back and correct what I have done....) Telling Hitler to continue going after RAF bases, instead of changing over to bombing cities, so that he would have total control of the air over Britain..... And also, suggest that the ME 262 would be stellar as a fighter aircraft, and not to be so wishy-washy by changing his mind so often on it, that it became a non-issue in the war effort. Suggesting that he secure Europe, before attacking Russia wouldn't be a bad idea as well........
