Hello,
You shouldn't be afraid of getting banned for making that comment. As long as things are civil and constructive, and not bashing/trolling/flaming, you should be fine.
As far as I can tell, we haven't really removed any mod (apart from those that break the rules, i.e ripped/stolen content, or by request of the banned author) for quite some time now. We do genuinely care about modding and the modding community, and that is why we strive to keep things clean and civil. You have to understand that a lot of what you read from banned people on other sites tend to be pretty one-sided, and does not include all the details. We are extremely transparent when it comes to bans, so if you are questioning an action, you can simply check out the reasoning behind a ban in the ban threads.

Actually, Steam Summer Sales, and GoG Summer Sales have a tendency to bring a TON of new players to games, and some time after that summer sale, once they have beat the game once, they will come looking for mods, because they know they exist (by now, everyone and their mother knows about modding for TES). This causes a massive (relatively speaking) amount of new users to come here, and download their mods. And which mods are they going to download? Those from the Top 100 list - and lots of them.
So no, it is not far fetched that a huge amount of new registrations caused this, and it is indeed a fact that this is the case.
And yes, the new CDN servers gives a great boost to the speed, both for Premium and non-Premium. This will become the standard once it is out of the experimental state. -

Strict is a fitting description - strict towards those who break the rules.
This is a network created to allow people to freely distribute their own work, regardless of their taste*. Strict rules are then necessary to keep the rights of the authors at a high level. Be lacks with the rules, and certain people will take advantage of that, and steal other peoples work for their own gain, or be hostile towards authors with other tastes - we do not want that.
That said, strictness consistency has been greatly improved lately, resulting in a more fair level of strictness.

In response to post #16659214.My point is my nose is sniffing a bad smell. My point for asking anything moved or stolen, is to clearify it was a blank attack, or a dummy attack. Well, on the other hand, they add their portfolio another big network.
Well, I wouldn't even call it an attack. One account was compromised, a few files were uploaded. That was it. Any kid with a computer, and some spare time could have done it.

Dark0ne, i wonder if you tought one thing about these unfortunate events. What if, these sudden and harsh actions would on purpose, for something. Let me be clear, what if this attack done on purpose just force you, the admin staff, to integrate a "free" antivirus application to your sites? I know it's a conspiracy, and sounds a little wooshy, but i am curious and catious about these. Let me ask, is there anything stolen, changed or moved while this event? Or it was just an attack?

Nothing has been moved, stolen, or changed, other than the viruses that was uploaded, and quickly removed. It was one account that was compromised, nothing more. That account had access to uploading files to already submitted file pages, but no access to any internal parts of the Nexus.
If it was done on purpose to get us to use VirusTotal, then what did they gain from it? VirusTotal is a trusted tool, used by millions of people.
