Any Bodies That Work *Well* With FCO?
nivea replied to masoncravens's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Discussion
Vanilla is your best bet currently, I hope to fix any issues Roberts male body has with it in my upcoming remake... Female wise nope Type bodies have major neckseam which will always be there. Even vanilla in certain lighting has a neckseam, there is no way to fully get rid of it. -

For body replaces females have Type 3 and its derivatives, males have Breeze (almost vanilla body) and Roberts (fully custom body) best is a personal preference so I will not say which one is "best": Type 3: http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/34825/? Type 6M: http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/45162/? Breeze: http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/35451/? Roberts: http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/54731/? Converting Oblivion mesh to FNV
nivea replied to DaWrecka's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Mod Troubleshooting
Isnt that fox based off of Oblivion's dog (meshes and textures), if it is then its not legal to use in Fallout. Why not retexture the coyote, its pretty similar in shape to that fox your using. Close as I can find to a creature tutorial: http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Rigging_skinning_and_dismemberment Otherwise you can try and use the armor tutorials: http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Creating_an_armour_for_Fallout._Part_1 -
Converting Oblivion mesh to FNV
nivea replied to DaWrecka's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Mod Troubleshooting
Pretty sure Oblivion uses different skeleton type then FO3/FNV/any other game, which means it will not work by just putting it in FNV. You need to rerig the fox to the FNV dog skeleton. -
Missing a master means your missing a file, you installed a mod and did not read the readme which would tell you what file it requires to work. FNVEdit will error on the file that is missing the master and that will tell you which one you need to read up on.

White/pale arms on custom armor
nivea replied to Proximitus's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Mod Troubleshooting
Sounds like you did not edit the shaders to be actual skin shaders, I do not know how to do that in 3DMax but you can do it in Nifskope just compare yours to working ones. -
First time this bug happened to me was on my first vanilla play through, rofl first time I saw a legion outside Nipton he was all naked... Very good first impressions, naked men I thought about joining. :P
-
Dunno if I would put NVR3 after your bashed patch, parts of it should be integrated into the patch (Races, NPC Faces, NPC inventory, Any Level list edits, ect) that might help with some of your issues.
-
Its a either a bug (well known even in vanilla) or a mod issue, this is how I try and figure out which is which: 1. When you use the console command to resurrect, do they spawn with clothing? If so high chance its a game bug. 2. Do they not resurrect with clothing, then its without a doubt a mod bug. The more mods you use that edit the same clothing/armor level lists the more likely the bug will pop up, the more NPC you have spawning the more likely the bug is going to pop up. I know that Diversified Mojave Wasteland is a culprit of this at times (I think it has a bad level list but I do not have the time to look through it all myself.) because people keep posting in my mod thread about missing armor on Legion when my mod does not touch them at all.

Loads up fine...Then Dead!
nivea replied to MaverickHavoc's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Mod Troubleshooting
Have you tried installing each of the mods one at a time then testing to see if the game works, its the long way but that means you can find the mod causing problems imminently. Also posting your load order (not just a list of mods your actual load order) is the only way people can tell what your using and see if there is a problem. Try using FNVEdit to load all your mods in, it will tell you when your missing a master or even Wrye Bash will show them as red when your missing a .esp/.esm. -
"Skyrim Romance" Redux - Skyrim Love Stories

Can not really help out, but I am always looking for good interesting NPC/Companions and if they will address my male character as male all the better imo. -
Blender 2.73 to Fallout New Vegas
nivea replied to MrObamatron's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Discussion
That was the whole point of the thread, there are NO 2.7 scripts and the old ones will never work with 2.7. You need to convert the finished mesh into a .obj file and then import that into the older blender. Then you export them with the scripts into .nifs. -
Type 3: http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=34825 Roberts: http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/54731 Or Breeze: http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/35451

i thought the whole point of modding is altering something to your personal liking Not to some people, they feel you owe it to them since they are thinking about downloading your mod and possibly leaving you a endorsement. But yes that is how most of us get into modding, we want something and no one has made it. I have to admit I think it would be silly if someone got banned for swearing in a Fallout forum, and the forum self censors when your use something that goes to far. But if someone wants to strike me for swearing at no one or anything specific (like calling someone or someone's mod a name) then I guess it will happen. All the Fallout games on this site are M after all for: "Strong Language", so technically we are all supposed to over 17 here.

Welcome to modding in general, people are not nice especially when they are protected from talking to your face. Take it all with a grain of salt you provided something free you worked on, if they have real bugs/issues then listen if you can, if they have real suggestions you like then listen as well, if they are ass hats bitching about something that was not made to their personal liking then ignore them.

Continuous Beam Laser - Beta Testers needed
nivea replied to weijiesen's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Discussion
ROFL, that is just the best thing ever. XD -
I posted on your image page: http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/images/88387/? I also used Type Cali for my mod, but they should line up fine when using a outfit with no gloves on it. I myself have no wrist gaping then. Are you using the smaller hand mod/mesh that will not line up correctly at times. The problem is skeletons used when making the body are off some, I used vanilla ones to line it up with vanilla hands.

Suppose it has never been done because its alot of work and hard to do (with little thanks), problem is most modders use the slots they think makes most sense to their mod most do NOT care about what some other modder did. Only reason those of us who made the cloaks mods worked/came together was because we where working on them at the exact same time and agreed it would be great for the slots to match up. I thinking handing out the Wiki link is the best way to suggest to modders to work together by using it. Its really NOT up to modder to make their mod and then make sure its works with other mods and then catalog their mod on top of it all. Its more a user issue then a modders issue, which I know users dont like to hear but sometimes it really is. Most the times lists are maintained by a users who feels like adding to the community instead of just using and not giving back, its a great way for a non-modder to help out the community. Like youtube reviewers ect.
-
You mean like this: http://www.creationkit.com/Biped_Object It gives the suggested slots that have been used by modders for years. 45 - neck (like a cape, scarf, or shawl, neck-tie etc) Where smaller items like capes or scarves. 46 - chest primary or outergarment This one tends to be wear large cloaks go.

Will check it out when I can, been super busy lately with other stuff. [edit] Well NM I can not download the file, that site just keeps cutting me off at 1-4mb.
-
Some older mods have major issues with NMM and should not be installed with NMM.
-
That would be a issue, you can not use stuff from other games without permission of the game maker. Which will not happen. If you made it for personal use only that is fine, you would need both Blender and Nifskope.
