  1. i just did the save kvatch quest and when i went into the chapel of akatosh, martin isnt in there!

i havent spoke to him since i started the game, what can i do :(

First of all you need to bookmark The Oblivion Wiki.

    http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Oblivion

Use the Player.Moveto command, as described here to move your player character to Martin's location wherever he is.

**Do not use the move to player command, though, (described here, also known as place at me command,)unless you want the possibility of two Martins in your game. When you use the move to player command, the engine spawns a copy at your position. Don't do that.

  2. Believe me, we are all just as concerned about this as you are. I'll do my best to help achieve a resolution, all of us want it to be resolved positively, believe me. The issue is that it also has to be handled fairly for everyone, regardless of personal feelings. The problem of potential language barriers is duly noted, as well as the possibility that the site is not updating properly on some older browsers. Try to not to worry, reinstatement is very easily handled, especially with this issue.
  3. If i want to remove the cloak from some mod which program should i use?

What's the mod, it could be simple, and it could be harder, depending on how it's made.

You will probably use Nifskope or Blender or 3DSMax.. but it could be quicker to take a look.

  4. The point is there are sexual situations in the game as originally released, and that in real life, dwarves do have sex, they get married, have children, even marry non-dwarf people.
  5. TacoWako banned.

  6. Ok I admit I got bored. I skimmed. I skipped. I didn't see any mention of Adam Smith, and the one thing I've ever heard Hoshi say that actually made sense was ignored. "Spiritual Materialism" is a great description of what evolved from John Calvin, but no one mentioned him, either.. I don't understand how you can have a logical thorough discussion without the contextual history that leads to comprehensive understanding.

Someone made a great point about how there's no such thing as a free market. I try to explain that all the time and that is what most interests me, in fact. Economists would flunk think thread, it gets an F. I like Keynes and I think Adam Smith is a relic who couldn't have possibly imagined a multi-national corporate economy. Smith's free market was based on local economies, where it actually worked, but it has evaporated into the mists of avalon.

Isolationism failed in the 1930s. No man's an island. No land's an island. Protectionism is great until you run short then the roosters come home to roost.

  7. Im someone who is very cynical of politics, especialy democracy. I grew up in australia and the problem here isnt "lack of liberty" its too much liberty. The real issue is that here democracy has simply become a farce, the two party system no longer have the interests of the people at heart, they never come up with policy that advances the country or even seem to recognise the impending national disasters such as housing superinflation increasingly massive divides between rich and poor, and worst of all, the fact that indigenous australians have about half the life expectancy of whites and live in total squalor. All the government here does is fight with the opposition, its been well over a year since any major policy got put forward or let alone got passed. its pathetic, the whole idea of a government is to govern and administrate, yet all they do is fight eachother while the rest of the country goes to hell

    Pretty good analysis.

  8. Seriously, I don't understand the point of the question. It's way too ambiguous. I'm tempted to see it as a question of whether you tend to side with the underdog vs the favored, but it doesn't work because the minority is not necessarily the underprivileged. The elite is a minority of privileged in any class, for example.
  9. I play Fallout 3 most of all, currently. I do a bit of modding using the GECK (which I love) as well. I have no crashes.

I would be interested in listening to Commander Crazy wax lyrical on the subject of nVidia drivers. He's impressed this old girl-geek several times already.

I hope you checked out bben's advisory list thoroughly. Since you barely acknowledged his post, I think you may have missed it.

There are always many many programs running in the background during gameplay, that's why utilities like GameBooster are so popular, it automatically shuts down all that annoying crap that prefetches and front loads and back ends -- you know that long list of items you get when you examine the Task Manager? Any software that creates a popup message can crash your game, as well, for example if Windows has done an automatic update, or if your Virus Scanner is queued to check for updates, these have been known to cause a CTD.

It's odd that some of us have so few troubles, but I let very little run on my computer, I'm a control freak, and nothing runs without my permission.

    Especially during Game Play.

Is this your first computer? Because I remember the days when if you called a PC's technical support group with any issue, they would have you reinstall the Operating System, losing all your original files, as it was considered that in order to help you, the computer had to be in it's original state. If there are people like me that can run the game with no issues, it seems kind of -- logical -- that it's an issue with the user's computer configuration.

So in conclusion, it just seems if you were serious you would have paid closer attention to bben's advice and maybe not have been so quick to discredit the advice you got from Commander Crazy. But then again, what do I know?

    ooh ooh Here's a Thought:

  10. Except it's only his opinion, and it's not justified. We specifically have a policy here: if you don't like it, don't download it, move along.

No commentary is warranted or necessary. We have a forum for special requests if you would like to request something that suits your own taste.

The most insulting thing is to believe that people are "getting their jollies" off with their characters. I like to play busty broads, myself and I like my men anatomically correct and generously proportioned, but I am also married to the man of my dreams in real life, thank you very much. It's a role playing game.

  11. Let's not veer too far offtopic but I think this is an important point before we leave it:

To inscribe upon, at least figuratively, suggests the act of ad homonym attack, and most other threads on these type subjects devolve into that very quickly. I strongly urge everyone to remember we are debating our friends by attacking their ideas here, not the man or woman themselves. This thread has been delightfully civil, especially in view of what is often incendiary subject matter, and I appreciate that. You all deserve a Kudo, if only I could give you each one.

    Back to topic,right?

  12. Twain's always a favorite of mine.

Cherrypick all you need to make your point, to tell your story. It takes all kinds to make the world go round, doesn't it?

As for Mr. Clemens, my own favorite of many is

Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel as if you, too, can become great.

  13. Unless I'm typing in yellow, I'm just a member.

I'm very surprised that the National Review is considered "very partisan", because although it's a moderate publication, it's also a right wing slanted organization, in which today's lead story is on how the democrats are throwing the rank and file under the bus, hardly a progressive view.

I'm not sure what you mean by your term "Refute|Ignore", I'll have to conclude that my objection to Palin is what troubles you, because by "less partisan", I meant less partisan than any newspaper that would accept the extremist views of those of Palin.

And in fact, you said it yourself that; “nearly all people who are presented with the current facts in a non-partisan manner agree that the current situation cannot continue.”

I hope I haven’t misinterpreted you in this statement, for this is what I’m exactly pointing out.

I'm beginning to suspect there may be a communication breakdown of sorts here, because the current situation that cannot continue to which I referred is the overinflationary rate of insurance premiums vs the flat wages and salaries since the 1990s. Not the debate or the method or the bill that will pass in a few days.

I read your new edit, and yes you're right, that the people who support it (before) is the same people now against it.

I don't recall saying this, and I can't find what you meant except possibly as story in one of the moderate ergo less biased, less partisan news sources I suggested.

I do want to say that I appreciate talking with you, even though we disagree.
