  1. I gotta add my two septims in this discussion.

Firstly, if you don't think gore belongs in a medieval type fantasy, then you don't know anything about the medieval ages. Combat in that era was even more gorier than what is represented in Deadly Reflex. I can appreciate that you don't care to see it. Neither do I, nor do I use DR. It's a matter of personal tastes. However, saying that type of violence is unrealistic is not true at all. There needs to be a whole lot more included in DR if you want accuracy.

Secondly, I like and have played several Mortal Kombat titles because I actually do like the story and the gameplay. I really enjoy Martial ARTS, and some of the action in the games is fun to pull off. But here's the thing, I don't even bother with the Fatalities, because I don't care for them either. Fatalities are a small part of the game. So again, your point there is wrong. If you also noted, I capitalized arts in Martial Arts, and even though the fighting style is considered violent, many consider it an art form, as do I.

Thirdly, you keep saying "pointless and meaningless" well really, what's the point to playing games? Does it do your homework for you? What about your job? Does it feed you? Solve the world hunger problem? There's really only one answer to what the point is, and some find that answer with that "pointless and meaningless" violence as well. As I mentioned previously, it's all a matter of personal tastes.

Fourthly and finally, mounted combat, as in swinging your sword while mounted, has been determined as a game engine impossiblity. But they also said the same thing about dual wielding. In the mean time, if someone can actually pull mounted combat off, don't hold your breath before it happens.

  2. You'll be stiring up the pot with that. She and the other administrators here had some.... let's say disagreements, which resulted in her leaving.

I don't remember any disagreements and she left the moderation team on good terms, I thought.

Strange, because she seemed to be very annoyed at you in this topic where she declared she was "done with forums".

    http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/topic/289891-something-isnt-right/

Either way, shame that her website is down. There really isn't enough people out there making content for male characters compared to female characters. Still, if need be you could always try contacting her over DeviantArt (I think she's AlienSlof there too).

Yeah, I think that was what her blog was alluding to. Something about the treatment she had gotten, but perhaps that was cleared up between them.

  3. I don't read it so I wouldn't know about that, but if that's the case then it's news to me.

Well I don't normally. I was just pointed to it when the questions arised. Don't put too much into it. It might've been something that was old news and was later cleared up.

  4. Somewhere in the sub-10 second area. Doesn't matter if it is the 1st, 2nd or 3rd time loaded since it is stored on an SSD card.

My current PC is over one year old and a custom rig with the specs in my profile. The OS is loaded on the SSD as well as Oblivion and modding tools for performance. The PC I had before this one was over 7 years old as well and it took over 60 seconds to load Oblivion.esm. It is a remarkable improvement to say the least. My upgrade to the current PC is documented here.

While making models for Oblivion, I add the items into the CS first and load up the game and add them to my inventory. I then ALT+TAB out of the game, fire up Blender to make my changes and export to NIF directly to the game folder. I don't have to exit Oblivion or Blender to make changes. I simple export a changed model, go back into Oblivion and then unequip and re-equip the item to see the change take effect.

    LHammonds

    nice computer! :woot:

  5. You'll be stiring up the pot with that. She and the other administrators here had some.... let's say disagreements, which resulted in her leaving.

I don't remember any disagreements and she left the moderation team on good terms, I thought. I certainly had no ill-will.

To be honest, I'm not sure what exactly happened either, and I don't want to really get involved with it. I just remember reading some of the things she posted about it from her blog when she left, which I had wondered why. Perhaps what she was refering to had been cleared up later.

  6. I use neither. I use MMM and WAC.

They're compatible?! This is good news to me :D I have WAC installed after trying MMM, and was trying to find out if there's a way to bring them both together safely.

No, they're not completely compatible. You'll need to either do a manual patch to make them work or change the load order somewhat. For example, if you use the two together, do not use Overspawn. Also, the factions in WAC revert some of the factions of MMM back to vanilla settings. In this case, I just redid my bash patch to not include the factions of WAC and then changed the load order so that MMM loads after WAC. So far, so good.

  7. Slof pulled her files off, according to her site, because of a difference of opinion with someone here. If the site comes back up, you can read her blog entry. I wouldn't presume to paraphrase her. She recently got a job working for a game company, so perhaps the site had become a conflict of interest. I don't know.

About the website, no she is just moving her stuff to a new location.

  8. Is there any mods where you can defense city or fort and recruit soldiers, guards that patrol and defense? Enemy spawns somewhere near and try reach specifick point or kill all your soldiers. Like Fallout new vegas: Wasteland defense.

    Thanks

    Sry bad english...

Actually, there are several mods like that. However, the only one I can think of at the moment is:

    ArmyOfDarkness

There is another one that uses a castle from another mod, but I can't remember the name of it or the castle mod to search for it.

  9. I didn't even know Slof had pulled her stuff from the Nexus. Does anyone know when and why that happened? I don't want to stir the pot, just wondering. A simple explanation like "she had a problem with idiots posting comments" is all I'm asking for, no need to revisit any big kerfluffles. I've always been a huge fan of hers, not because I use her mods (great work but not to my taste) but because I think it's so great to see a strong, confident gamer girl who doesn't try to play down her sexuality.

You'll be stiring up the pot with that. She and the other administrators here had some.... let's say disagreements, which resulted in her leaving.

  10. Hey, to all the LOTR fans out there...

Basically, I'm looking for feedback on my Wandering Nazgul mod, what you think of it, if you'd download it and if not, why not etc.

    Here it is:

    http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=32425

I'll gladly consider any suggestions you have to make it a better mod. At the moment, it's only version 0.79, but 1.0 should be out in a few days.

    Thanks for your time ;)

I actually plan on installing this some time, but it may be awhile. My to-test file is fairly extensive atm and I barely have time to play.

  11. You'll need to fix what Condor linked to before you can finish the patch.

Just to note, an important ongoing game is just that. A game save you've been playing for awhile and think it's an important character. For example, my main game is a 200+ hour character. It's important to me. So I often backup the save game file.

You should be okay to install the mod with a current game though without having to start a new one. I did that with my 200+ hour game and have had no problems at all so far. If you do that, I'd jsut be sure to back up your save game file. You'll also need to go to an isolated cell and wait there for four days to reset spawn points. I'd suggest the Testinghall.

Also, the one plugin from WAC you'll need to avoid for sure with overhauls is Overspawn, unless you can patch it yourself to work with what you have. From what I understand, there's also an issue with Factions, though I'm not sure whether its from the main esp/esm or one of the individual plugins. I just know that WAC will revert some of the overhaul factions, especially MMM's, back to vanilla factions.

Further, there's an issue with the Gladiator plugin that won't let you finish the Arena quest, so just be aware of that.

  12. Hello,

basically I'm looking for a mod that let's you build an entire castle or village from scratch to a masterpiece for a lot of money.

Optional unlockable areas for wizards, alchemists, vampires etc. Hired NPC merchants, servants, guards. Maybe even an own economy that will reward massive investments in the future.

The best example I can give for such a thing would be Crossroad's Keep from NWN2.

The closest thing to that I could find is Glenvar Castle but it is finished rather quickly.

If anyone knows of such a mod or work-in-progress I'd be happy to hear about it.

Only thing that I can think that has something of that magnitude is Kvatch Rebuilt. It bascially lets you rebuild the entire city and gives you the chance of becoming the count.

  13. What he's asking for is the mod that changes the Oblivion sky and water to look like the normal Tamriel sky and water.

I am a she n.n; Don't know if you just typo'd the omission of the S or if you were mistaken. Sorry n.n; and yes you are correct.

Was a typo, my sincerest apologies. Haven't had my coffee today

Does any one knows which race this is? (hopefully the name of the hair as well)

    http://shy.jsphr.net...mg/ups22501.jpg

And I would also like to know what armor this is =]

    http://shy.jsphr.net...mg/ups22317.jpg

Race might be a Lop Ears elf. Not available on Nexus, but Google 'KumaKumaKokuma' and you'll find it. Can't access the site where I am so I can't give you a proper link, sorry~

The hair is from the SKS Ren's pack by StephenKang. It's not publicly available, I'm afraid.

The armour is Hentai's Dark Sisterhood Armor.

Don't mean to correct, but the Lop Ear Elf race is available on Nexus from Modular BP ++:

  14. I'm looking for SPB Suicup dress but the download was removed due to copyright reasons. Personally I think that's ridiculous because I've seen many mods that use stuff from other games/modders. People really need to be more live and let live on this site. What kind of copyright laws did it violate if anyone knows and where can I download this dress? I already have the Empress' dress so I only need the textures.

Personally, I'd rather not have TESNexus shut down for that, that's why. Ripped content being publicly uploaded in the first place is a violation from where it came from, if said ripped game material has such a statement, which most of them do. I personally feel the same as you, seeing how there is no commerically made products made of it, thus no monetary income, which I could see the violation then if there was, however, it is the rules. And the law says do it or risk being shut down.

  15. I know there are a lot of non-Cyrodiil maps out there with detail to them other than Elsweyr. My question is do these have anything to do with the heightmaps that were made by Onra? From what I understand, Onra's Elsweyr is the only custom province with any real content. Was permission given to heightmap modders to put content onto other provinces from Onra's mods? If so, can there be links to all provinces with content that are compatible with Onra's heightmaps?

I'm a little confused at some of your sentences, but the Elsweyr mod I think is only patched by Onra so that it'd work with his heightmaps, he didn't make it and it doesn't require them. There's also several other areas that are added as well that don't require them as well. But Onra has a pretty good description about some of those mods that may or may not be compatible in his readme/description:

  16. Using the CS I did a copy/paste from an existing NPC to a new one, both are Imperials. As expected all the numbers are the same, including age/complexion/hair etc as well as the 3 screens of geometry/texture settings, but subtle differences are still apparent between the two. I can easily tell them apart in screenshots when they stand side by side. So I'm stumped how every number in their face data can be identical yet the faces themselves are different.

Is there an established procedure (using the CS only, not Wrye/etc) to get reliably 100% identical faces from one NPC to another?

That's the general way to do it. The Imperial you're copying from is stock vanilla, correct?

  17. Now THAT was spooky <cue Twilight Zone music>.

As I clicked for the second page, I got a site error. To test the connection, I typed another web address - got a typo, and IT didn't load. Thought I was infected for a moment!

    All OK now

Regarding MS Security Essentials - it MAY slow down your Oblivion (and other games) since by default it scans all processes and all files you open. There's a work-around, but it DOES reduce the security in narrowly defined ways. I have a PDF I picked up with a walkthrough if someone wants a copy to vet it before I post it.

I'll take a looksee of it.
