Mod authors should have made a master list of locations

You have to avoid conflicts with other decent mods that lots of people use, or lots of people will get very angry with you. If you can't avoid them all by moving your stuff, then ignore the rubbish mods that hardly anyone downloaded. And make it clear on the description page that there is a conflict (this is virtually never done, the modders wait until a user notices).

First of all, nobody is getting angry with modders except you. Everyone else makes a patch or asks for a patch to be made or just asks how to use the console to fix the problem. You're the only one on this forum who is too lazy to fix the problems you created by using conflicting mods without doing any conflict resolution. In the vast majority of cases these problems are easily solved.

Second of all, who the hell are you to designate mods as "decent" or "rubbish"? Nobody, that's who.

Even I'm giving up trying to explain things to you.

Just look at the posts tab in some mods, people are very angry. And in most cases the modder isn't there anymore to solve the problem. Imagine if it had been written to work from day one....

You decide which mods to bother making yours compatible with by the number of downloads, clearly shown on nexus.

Creating the database now would be next to impossible

No idea what that notation means.

You just made that up.

then ignore the rubbish mods that hardly anyone downloaded.

'Rubbish' in this context is subjective and doesn't always correlate with number of downloads.

(this is virtually never done, the modders wait until a user notices)

Again, you just made that up.

The notation basically means that the thread can be closed.

In this case you've admitted that this isn't a mod request and isn't even possible (though you still think it was possible in the past). This forum is not intended for complaining that people didn't follow your silly idea five years before you had it.

Nothing is made up, it's from reading the posts tab in mods. Popular mods will have lots of downloads and lots of discussion.

I'm not a programmer, writing in English is more useful.

It could be done for the next modable game.

That which is asserted without evidence, can be dismissed without evidence.

In the 15 or so years I've been modding, I would've read hundreds if not thousands of comments on mod pages and I've never encountered someone who was angry that a mod was incompatible with a popular mod.

I have, however, read many comments by angry, entitled, obstinate mod-users who think that other people should solve their problems for them.

Earlier in this thread you said 'it's too late now' to do this. Now you're saying it can be done for the next game and that Nexus Mods should implement it as part of the process of uploading a mod.

Since that's the case, I look forward to seeing your post in the site feedback forum suggesting this idea, and Nexus Mod's response to you.

However, I won't hold my breath since, given your form in this thread, you seem to prefer mental masturbation rather than doing something actually productive. For the community and yourself.

Well, do it yourself or give up on the whole thing. Because everyone else knows it's a terrible idea.

As I said before, it can only be done from the start.

Do your own research.

Don't have to. It is simply a given that mods that affect the same area, are likely to conflict. That's just the way it goes. Getting mad at an author because their mod conflicts with some other mod, is just stupid. Folks that exhibit that kind of behavior obviously have no idea just how mods actually work.
