How do I change the mod deploy order in Vortex?

To me it's simple. I mod FO4. What you are describing is literally game breaking. Does your game load? Check your load with Wrye BASH and post that output in it's entirety. Here is mine (still WIP).

It matches Vortex's plugins tab perfectly.

If this was truly a universal problem, no one's game would be functional.

No one is refusing to help. But before we do (specifically Tannin), you need to provide the right files in their entirety. And I would go a step further and verify your load in an independent tool that is not LOOT, as I described above.

Ok, so you're very likely trolling so I'm out.

If you're actually having a problem, this is a case of PEBKAC. The way you fix it is you take a step back, realize that you are misunderstanding how things work and what people have been telling you. With that understanding, re-read what you have been told. Everything you need is there.

LMAO! You literally lie to my face, then call me a troll?

That's rich bro.......But hey, it's all good.

I'll be making a video showing Vortex installing my mods in the wrong order in loadorder & plugins, the files YOU SAID were not being used.

for this "issue" to be diagnosed correctly, you need to provide documentation of your process, and - not being rude - you need to understand why if what you suggest is correct then no-one's game would load - at all - ever, yet here we are and there's you, and you alone with this issue.

basic maths, basic analysis suggests that this is very much a localised issue and a knowledge/awareness issue.

from what i've seen in your posts in this thread, there is a lot of conflation, but no actual evidence. without evidence no-one can assist you to any meaningful degree.

the issues you describe, i don't get, have never got and probably never will get and ive been using vortex since alpha. so, what is different on your system to mine? same game, modded using the same mod manager...where are the fundamental differences that wreck your load order?

so, if you want to report an issue and have it be analysed, diagnosed and remediated - then provide actual data that can be verified and used in systems away from yours to see if your issue can be recreated.

or, use MO2 or NMM or copy files manually or whatever.......

So your claim is that when you install something, Vortex lists it in the order you install it? Because that's NOT what it does for me.

If I install "leaf.esp" and then install "rock.esp", rock will show up at the top of loadorder & plugins, not under leaf.

Vortex automatically sorts your load order, even as you install more. Load order does NOT equal Install order.

Unless/Until you provide the information you have been asked for, numerous times..... no one can help you. If your game loads and plays, then there isn't a problem, and you are tilting at windmills.

Oh, lookie here!

Yeah, he told you that one used by Vortex to communicate with other mod management tools, not with the game. And your screenshot doesn't show the issue you are reporting, when the file was modified or where it is located.

No, he said THIS:

"b) The loadorder text file is indeed not used by the game, never has been"

Sounds pretty cut & dry to me......

Let's look at that full comment shall we?

"b) The loadorder text file is indeed not used by the game, never has been, that file is being used to synchronize load order between mod managers, the game only looks at plugins.txt"

So, do you always edit to support your claims?

FRESH INSTALL of Fallout 4: NO VORTEX or Mods

I deleted loadorder & plugins files.

The game EXE replaced them.

My video will clearly show this.

It will be posted to my gaming channel on Odysee.

I've been modding ganes since the first Wolfenstein 3D. How long have you been modding games again?

If OP is correct in claiming that Vortex loads plugins in a game breaking manner, then why have I been able to load and play a heavily modded Fallout 4 (and other games) since the alpha days of Vortex? As others have already pointed out, nothing would have worked with such a topsy turvy load order.

Furthermore, when consulting the Vortex plugins tab, why is the load order always properly structured?

If any moderators come into the thread can we get the current discussion split off into a new thread? This current topic has nothing to do with deploy order and might confuse anyone who looks at the thread seeking help with that subject.
