Buckaro
I have the latest version of Vortex and have the StarfieldCustom.ini in /docs/my games/starfield on C drive and I am reinstalling Starfield on my C drive. All my other Steam games are on D drive. I have tried several mods and nothing works at all. Never had an issue using NMM and stayed away from Vortex as it never really worked. No option for Starfield with NMM however. Starfield and Vortex will be on C drive after it re downloads. I tried hard deploy and no difference in vortex and vortex sees Starfield location. Aezriel
same...mods in vortex are doing everything they should. download, install, deploy etc. i just dont think they are being deployed to the correct spot. vortex keeps deploying into the game install directory, but dont work when this happens... if i manually install into the "docs/my games/starfield/data" on c: the mods work flawelessly. also when u click "OPEN" in the menu in the mods page in vortex and chose "open game mods folder" it takes me to the install directory. not /docs/my games/starfield (is this supposed to happen?) for ref.my game install is on E:/Games/Starfieldmy mods staging folder is E:/Vortex/Starfield (orignally on default C/appdata but that didnt work either)vortex is installed on C: also tried hardlink and and symlink deployment. makes no difference. Aezriel
ive since noticed in vortex new update that the symlink is not an option anymore for starfield. is it correct that the steam version uses the {gameinstalldir}/data folder but the GamePass version of the game uses Mydocs/my games/starfield/datais it possible this is the issue. ca we manually set the destination mod folder to fix it?... it seems all the mod files are all being deployed to {gameinstalldir}/data. i have seen in other forum topics that this is working for ppl (i presume steam customers), so my question is IF the mods deploying into {gameinstalldir}/data is where it should go,(since it works for others) how do i stop starfield from trying to load from the docs/my games/starfield/data instead? Specifically which mods are you attempting to install? Have you tried again since the Vortex extension for Starfield was updated (yesterday)? Mysterius
Texture mods seems to not work at all using Vortex. Every modder is suggesting manual download at the moment.
TanteTrude
With most mods, you have to manually edit the StarFieldCustom.ini ! Please read the mod descriptions carefully. It's not like Skyrim or Fallout where you just click the "Vortex" button and the mod is working.
woffen5
For me it worked just fine starting on early release up until today. Suddenly vortex complains that the game doesn't support symlinks anymore and that mods can't be deployed. I'm confused.

Kupie
Seems like as long as you have this in your StarfieldCustom.ini, and delete your "Data" folder that's under "My Games\Starfield", it'll load textures from the installpath: sPhotoModeFolder=Photos It'll then save photos there instead.
