Indeed, it blew well past any semblance of plausible deniability! (Never mind that asking how to mod a pirated game is still against the rules here (IIRC), regardless of whether or not you're actually pirating the game.) I can very much imagine TVD thinking "nice try" before swinging the banhammer.

More seriously, I'm not entirely sure. Could've been FOMod installers advertising their game instead of actually installing a mod, or files advertising their game (via filenames or text file contents), etc. Maybe @JustThatKing or another moderator will say more, but I wouldn't blame them if they don't. I can't see how this would be a very effective ad, either. If I downloaded a game mod and got an ad for a completely different game instead, I'd probably be rather annoyed by the bait-and-switch, and want to avoid ever playing or paying for the advertised game. It's a screenshot of a DuckDuckGo search result. When you click the link, it takes you to Nexus' mod not found page.
showler
A new one with a 21 minute gap from "formal warning" to "banned".

That tends to happen when users see a warning as a challenge or personal attack and decide to start a fight that they can't win.
