Vortex keeps purging when I download and install a mod

Update: Narrowed it down.

in order to fix this issue you need to go to the Extensions tab in Vortex and click “Show Bundled” so you can see the extensions vortex automatically includes.

Disable the extension named “Mod Dependency Manager” the rest don’t matter, leave them be or disable.

Once the Mod Dependency Manager extension is disabled the forced-purges stop entirely.

Not sure *why* that extension is causing forced purges that can’t be disabled, but there is is. Hope this helps others who stumble on this thread!

Sigh. One more update.

with the Mod Depency Manager disabled you can’t manage rules, so unfortunately you’ll still want to leave it enabled when tweaking rules and you’ll still have to deal with the purges.

Hopefully someone from Nexus or Vortex can figure out a fix or release one because this is just ridiculous, the sort of thing that drives people off to MO2.

came to see if i was the only one with a constant purge loop. hope to see an official fix soon but i understand these things take time. quite painful with any large amount of mods though.

I don't know if this will help, but I have never seen the purge loop, have the Mod Dependency extension enabled, but have Collections disabled (on W10 Skyrim version 1.6.640).  Maybe they don't play nice w/each other in some circumstances?

I don't have the purge loop either.  Here are my extensions.   One clue might be what type of mods trigger this if the mod dependency extension is involved.image.thumb.png.f5b5495bf4144eb6f90294fefaaee2c1.png

I do have a collection enabled that I was working on.

I'm working with a hypothesis

As part of the upgrade to 1.10 Vortex needs to do a full purge and redeploy of your mods. If you keep interrupting it, it will try again next time it needs to do something with a mod.

I have manual deployment enabled, i.e. I have to click a button to do it. This prevents me from having to watch the full deployment event EVERY time a mod is installed. This is a big deal when you're installing about a thousand mods (as I am), as deployment can take >30 seconds when you're deploying 300,000 files.

No luck. Not only did it not help, but now Vortex is stuck updating FNIS. It's been updating for the last hour or so.

I had to reboot it. Then it purged but got stuck on the FNIS step.
