Vagrant0
I'd like to point people to the "Report Post To A Moderator" feature. I check my email daily so reported posts will be checked up on. The only member known to actually use this feature effectively is Peregrine *claps*Basically, take Dark0ne's advice, aspire to be just like Peregrine was... Wait... No... That could be bad... Perhaps this second bit is what you should walk away with...So, when you see an example of thread necromancy, spamming or wrong doing don't start replying to the thread with reasons why it should be deleted et cetera, because more than likely your post will be deleted too and you'll be affected by the same -4 post count deducted the spammers get. So, conclusion: Use report moderator feature, don't start telling people what they can and can't do. Thats our job.Basically, it is not your job to tell people what they should do, they should know what to do on their own. When they don't, then it becomes the job of staff to remind them. In chat, since all discussion is immediate, and often makes other conversations hard to keep up, reminding people that they should change the discussion before it goes somewhere bad is a good idea, but should usually be phrased as a suggestion. The problem comes when people take their role of reminding others too far, or do it in a way that it looks like they're trying to suck up to the moderator in the room, or the staff who might handle the case. MiloHunts
ok so basically, Admin are the cops, we are the informants, this is not a democracy, I guess you could call it a form of Martial Law.if we want to warn a person that something bad could happen if they continue, we should send them a PM and not post it, or just report it and let Admin handle the issues. csmithsr90
I have read the entire topic and have one question. Did the Report feature ever get fixed right?
Thandal
Not sure what you mean. Report feature works great for files, file comments, images, forum posts, and the Chat Room. The staff here deal with Reports from all of these every day...
bben46
There may be some confusion here. The reports are ONLY seen by the staff. There is not a way for anyone else to see a report. Not even the person who submitted the original report. Clicking the report button brings up a form to make the report. That goes to a hidden (staff only) forum where we can review, comment on among ourselves and take whatever action we deem appropriate. If you see something that you think might violate the rules, go ahead and make a report. Give us enough information to work with as a blank reason for the report may cause it to be ignored. Some reasons are obvious :pirate:  >:( :ninja: :nuke:Others not so obvious :wallbash: :pinch: :yucky:  :ermm:

JimboUK
Necromancy? Thread necromancy is digging up very old (dead) threads and replying to them.
bben46
From the rules:Thread Necromancy is... Reviving a "dead thread" (a thread that has had no new posts in it for more than a month) with something that has no relevance to it. For example posting "hey cool" (see SPAM) or "that was really helpful, thanks".Please look at the date of the last post in a thread before posting something that lacks any real substance. If it was a month or more ago you can assume that this thread is dead, and unless you have something constructive to add that will continue the discussion, don't bother. If the dead post is something regarding troubleshooting a problem, It is much better to start a new topic, and reference the old thread with a link. The reason is; if a troubleshooter opens a topic and sees that it is 2 years old and has 20 pages - they will likely assume (usually correctly) that the problem is solved somewhere in those 20 pages and the poster is just too lazy, or not bright enough to look for it themselves.
