Are prop makers and costume designers involved in filmmaking banned from creating Nazi props and costumes for WW II movies? The same rationale is employed here. As long as the mod itself does not glorify or promote Nazi ideologies, it is given the benefit of the doubt and allowed to be hosted here.

He's probably from Germany (so am I). Here, using this (and some other related) symbol in public is against the law, no matter the context. There's some exceptions to it (like the aforementioned historic movies for example), but hosting a mod like the one he refers to on a german server would lead to a lawsuit pretty quick. I as well had to grow accustomed to the fact that this is handled differently outside of Germany. Edited by wax2k

Here in the Netherlands it's just against the law to wear a swastika on your sleeve and waving your arms around in a 'Sieg Heil' manner. Don't think it's against the law here if used in a fashion that doesn't actually promote Naziism (i.e. games, movies, etc.).

Either way, I'm not against the use of Nazi symbols either, so long as they're not used to promote Naziism or hatred or anything. It's a big part of our recent history after all.

The depiction of Nazi heraldry in a historical manner is not wrong. However, using it to promote Nazi ideology is very wrong. There are far too many in the world who still embrace this ideology and are hoping to restart what the world stamped out some 80 years ago.
