Ten rules to get a mod setup with a lot of workshop & crafting mods to work

So with the laterst update, 1.6... am i to understand that the base game can now handle the crafting mods without the use of a keyword patch. assuming i use versions of hte mods that dont "require" SKE/SKI, it should work fine? i just feel like i have never seen all the crafting options. some appear and some leave based on load order, install order, ect.. My load order below...

Hey. I don't know if its allowed, but could anyone here help me with this load order issue of mine?

My current patch of the game is the 1.5 with the first 3 DLC. I've a few problems with my settlement crafting. I've downloaded several mods that resulted with the Structure section missing, various mods such as Homemaker making their own categories and sections instead combined inside the Settlement Keyword Expanded section which i used, and the OCD section's missing.

Could someone help me with this?

I have a quick question concerning the loadout sections.

 

Where would mods like Supermutant Redux, or Raider Overhaul, and War of the Commonwealth go in the load order?

And both SUpermutant and Radier overhaul have AE patches (which require them to come after Armorsmith Extended,esp

And VIS sorting patches as well.

 

Would they be considered "Gameplay Tweaks? or does another section need to be added?

 

Also, some mods won't allow you to group all the Valdacil's sorting together, especially when using something like Cut Weapon Mods Restored alone with Weapon Mods fixed, because they also have specific VIS patches. which messes up the section, because those would be considered weapon mods

Try to group mods that achieve the same goal together. Bugfixing and overhauls almost always go to top due to their nature. If a mod requires another mod that goes lower , just place them after their master. In the end what matters is that the overwrites happen the way you want them, and that the load order is stable.

First post, hope it's in the right section, if not, let me know.

Anyways, I'm currently trying to understand creating patches to make various mods play nice together. NMM and LOOT both consistently fail me, see following load order LOOT suggested, NMM endorsed it, lol. EVEN I can see that this order ain't gonna do nothing but CTD all day. Totally out of order. So I rearrange based on what I've learned from youtube, the nexus, and related sites. Still CTD, so I fire up FO4Edit, apply to show conflict losers, etc. BOLD and red are bad, correct? Orange is a conflict winner, I understand this. I've made patches before. Just not for Fallout 4, mind you. When creating the patch, I used the automated patch, and then begin the fun part of dragging records to the new patch. Now, if FO4Edit shows red before the patch, but the patch is orange text, is this correct? I activate it, fire up the game, play for about an hour, and CTD.

 

What went wrong, how do I fix & ensure it doesn't happen again? Appreciate any and all help, suggestions, comments, guidance. The main mod at odds seem to be Project Overlord, followed by Spring Cleaning, Armor Keywords and Better settlers. I put PO as the last mod before my patch, as there are a few keyword/name changes made by it, and then follow that with my patch as final loaded.

Is it better to combine certain mods with extra .esm files into ONE mod, to help narrow the conflicts? (Certain mods like True Storms, Arbitration, etc. I would like to combine into one, and I make sure there is no broken dependency if another mod needs a certain mod before it, or after.)

So no, not a hardware problem either. Not with 132 FPS in MechWarrior Online, and ~24% CPU load :smile: (What? Sometimes big, stompy robots is the answer. Can't play Fallout all the time, ya know)

Heya,

I have an issue with my saved game that I can move settlement objects and create new ones but not delete/scrap them.

I believe it's due to old mods I have used to build with and have left a location or position id but there isn't anything attached to it.

Is it possible to clean/remove the build items in a settlement or get a list via console as I'd like to purge the erroneous entries.

Perks are player/npc changes.

Animations are beauty mods.

Quest mods should go somewhere in the middle, before sorting, but after beauty and settlement.

 

Posting your load order - you can do it, but I doubt anyone has time to look at it, specially when what I saw so far are lists with huge load order. I for sure don't have time, and wax hasn't been around lately.
