Yes, a business being successful is a problem. If by "operational limits" you mean the staff considering adding a few new tags and maybe changing some upload criteria then by all means yes, you have outed them. :thumbsup: But you weren't the one to suggest tags and in fact you've stated tags aren't enough and you're against more tags. Yet here you are, spinning the possibility of the staff probably thinking about additional forum widgets they might implement sometime in the future as a your victory. :dry:

 

Dark0ne had to post a message, in which he admitted that the mod "mango" had the obvious problem of too injure a sensitive issue, but that the mod would not be withdrawn, but it would only have changed the text, where the references to the abuses sexual were removed. Mango was just held captive by bandits in a cave. End. Problem solved. Dark0ne intervening personally admitted the mistake...

In summary; you and some here like you found a mod you didn't approve of. Trolling the mod's upload thread didn't work. Filing reports against a mod that doesn't break the rules didn't work. 'Bringing awareness' by starting this thread to get the mod removed didn't work. Your advocating for mod censorship didn't work. Your appellations to condemn the mod didn't work. None of the Feminist Frequency style tactics you attempted worked. While I understand this wasn't the original point of the OP, when people start saying they can find lots of people that can agree with them on no nudity being on the site at all...I want to make it a moot point.

Has there been lots of people saying that in this topic? I don't think I've seen any really, but I have not read through every word here. I for one have no problem with adult content and I don't use the filters. I only wince when I see a very limited amt of questionable content as I've voiced here. Maybe its just my own moral code bleeding out on someone else's website, but a lot of women would likely be in the boat with me.

Speaking as a porn peddler, I must acknowledge that we - modders, not porn peddlers - Have something of a public perception problem. I think it's also worth discussing how we might mitigate that reputation.

 

However I think that beyond hiding adult content from unregistered viewers (which we already do), redesigning the Nexus will have no effect whatsoever. The part of the wider public who sneer for entertainment are happy to go to lengths to seek out things to be disgusted with.

 

Creators of fan-art and fan-fiction have the same problem. Smut is the first thing many people think of when they're mentioned.

 

I personally think that the best thing for modding is to elevate our best works to public attention and promote them. I remember Nehrim received a lot of press from mainstream gaming journalism, which makes sense because it delivered a product that was like a mainstream game. However I propose that modders here on the Nexus produce experiences that AAA studios cannot, and that these should be how the world sees us.

 

So many gamers are missing out, because they think that all we produce is hentai. But what we have here is phenomenal and experimental in ways that indie game devs could only dream of being.

I don't think that's the problem of Nexus and I'm sure that users who are looking for high quality complex mods have no problem finding this content here, tho I agree, it's not always too easy to spot, for new users especially I guess... I also hope redesign won't screw interface to unintuitive mess as most redesigns do these days...

 

Adult/skimpy content will always be on top, no one can do anything about it, because reasons are obvious, as I stated before: core gaming population age dictates interests, like it or not.
