Sorting mods manually! please... please add that feature... and the tool might be "modders friendly"

Hi, I'm quite a veteran modder, I'm of those mod people who prefer do things manually than automatically, I think this is one of the main concepts of modding, to modify the way you want something. The concept of Vortex looked cool to me, a software where is supposed you could browse, manage and sort all the mods you have installed.

But I just dont get how the developers didn't added a first main basic feture of sorting the mods manually... after testing the tool by 3 minutes I tried to sort the mods manually, I noticed the only way is doing double clikck on the mod installed then in the right tab go to "Lock mod index", then "Locked to Index" and change every mod number......

An easy example, I wanted a mod to be in a specific load postion, Vortex tool sorted it at the bottom of load order "mod index" n°10, but I wanted to be after a mod "mod index" n° 09, but by some "intelligent reason" , the tool after the "mod index" n°09 start adding "mod index" numbers/letters as 0A, 0B, 0C, etc., so by that the mod with load order 10 was after all other mods what starts with with 0A, 0B, etc...

The only way to fix this is changing all "mod index" numbers of each mod after n°09, those with 0A, 0B, 0C...

Also would be cool If the tool had a browsing feature it self, so one could organize the mods while browse, I understand is all linked with the site, though would be cool have it in the tool itself

My opinion is a good tool for do fast test of modding the game

But please add a feature to sort mods manually some mods overraid others what lost features by that automatic override, so to avoid the whole changing number locations of "mod index", would be easy and more practical to avoid all that time lost and just change the mod load order manually..

Hi.

Dont know what game you are modding but with for example Skyrim SE it is very easy to manage load order to my personal taste in Vortex.

The "browsing" feature you suggest is interesting but keep in mind not all mods are from Nexus... so for me it is not something i think the devs should spend to much time developing.

Nope.

Thank you for making it excruciatingly clear that all you did was install Vortex, mess around with it for 3 minutes, and expect it to be like NMM.

I honestly have a hard time believing your post is true, mainly because of how wrong all of it is.

If you had spent ANY time reading the Knowledge Base, or the Tutorials, you'd know that there are plenty of other ways to sort the load order, with "Lock to mod index" being the LAST and WORST RESORT.

If you are a "Veteran Modder" you would've spent time learning how Vortex handles the load order, instead, you didn't bother learning about the EASY methods, such as Putting a plugin in a group, or just creating a Load Order Rule, and went straight to a feature that never needs to be used.

it probably took you longer to type out that post, than you spent testing vortex.

there are already several methods in vortex you can use to manually sort your load order. you'd know this if you spent more than three minutes actually using the tool.

Not to argue pros/cons of LOOTS auto sort. But you CAN turn it off and manually sort to your hearts content.

Is just a feature of common sense, sorting the mods manually.. I have used Vortex after made this post, I've installed many mods, and tested the game Skyrim SE, I noticed the automatic load order sometimes make the game glitch, even If the I use the tool features of choosing to put the mod after or before, would be easier to sort that specific mod manually

give one mod - just one mod that was installed in the wrong order and made the game "glitch" whatever that means.

so you can't name a single mod then? quite surprising (not really) given your previous post.
