Plugins No Longer Visible During Sort - Began With v1.3.16

I've noticed starting with v1.3.16 and continuing with v1.3.17 that when the Sort operation is underway, the plugins list is no longer visible. All that is seen is the circular animation in the center of the Plugins screen. Is this by design?

Why it matters:

There used to be several tasks that could be accomplished during a sort that would (should) not affect the sort itself. These are of an "information gathering" nature, such as finding out which mod is associated with a particular plugin, reviewing rules and groups for planning purposes when resolving conflicts, reviewing dependencies and masters required by various plugins, reviewing LOOT notes and recommendations, etc. These options are no longer available with the latest updates. Since I am sorting over 1,200 plugins, sorting takes more than 20 minutes. That means that my usual method of multi-tasking while doing plugin maintenance (investigation and planning during a sort) is no longer an option.

I used to be able to get a lot of "homework" done during the 20+ minutes that a sort takes. Now all I can do is wait.

I spoke to Tannin and he said that blocking the table during a sort was an intended change as users were getting confused that Vortex would show an incorrect load order until the sort operation completes. A sort operation taking 20 minutes does not seem right to me though, even with 1,200 plugins.

I understand trying to avoid confusion. Perhaps that could be made an option, with the default to block the table but with an "Advanced" option to show it? The option could be buried 10 levels deep and require a secret decoder ring to access it.

Regarding the sort time, it doesn't seem right to me either. It is actually over 30 minutes (I "rough" timed it recently). I do have multiple Profiles with varying sizes of load orders, and the sort time is pretty consistent regarding taking more time with an increasing number of plugins. It isn't like Vortex is flat out broken, just having difficulty handling the load. I brought the excessive sort time up once before, and Tannin looked at it and didn't indicate any concern. I'll update that thread with the longer sort times.

Just for s*** and giggles, and assuming you're talking about a Bethesda game with over 1,000 mods, take a look at your "vortex.deployment.json" located in the game's DATA folder

What's the file size?

I have 314 mods, and it's 5.75mb

It contains (AFAIK) every single file, from BSA, BA2, to nif, dds etc in it that's installed, (If I'm wrong, then it only contains the files that you set rules for), anyway, it takes me a very long time to scroll through that json file, and I imagine with the amount of mods you have installed that that file gets written and rewritten every time you add/remove/deploy.

Anyway, I'm curious about the size of that json file

@HTR, I'm switching over to my original thread regarding "Excessive Sort Times" which I just updated. Don't want to get the topics crossed with this one about the plugins window disappearing. I'll check the file size and post it over there.
