  1. The ultimate medieval type mod is Waalx Animals and Creatures. It's an overhaul and is not compatible with FCOM etc. Despite being called Animals and Creatures it does much, much more than that, but doesn't take over everything and is modular to an extent. It's compatible with pretty much everything else, except maybe Unique Landscapes and a few others. I can't use those as my system wouldn't handle it, so I can't tell you exactly. New weapons and armour, new mounts other than horses, buildings, and the animals of course.....too much to really list. It's based around the Conan style of world if that gives you some idea. More gritty and truer to a medieval style of game which is my preference. Besides anything else it's like walking through a dangerous open wild life park with a lot of extras. Anyway, this is the website where you can download it and it's quite large. Plus, you have to register to see any related threads, but it's totally worth it. http://waalx.com/RealSwordsForum/index.php It's in Beta, but don't let that bother you. It's so stable I've never had a crash in many hours of playing with it. There's also an update coming soon.
  2. @ Ginnyfizz You yourself admit not knowing much about the topography of either Australia or Brazil, yet you seem to think you have the solutions to our problems. Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria deal with these phenomenon every year and it has little to do with town planning and building decisions. You seem to suggest we in Australia at least are simpletons by your very attitude. The Global warming "band wagon" as you put it was mentioned in passing and taken out of context by yourself and Kendo2. There were no extended discussions on the subject. The current events could not have been prevented by any means. It was and is a once in many decades natural phenomenon. Queensland is a tropical state. Do you think they would not know how to deal with floods in a normal monsoon season? Three quarters of the state is under water and that flood water is now heading south as Vindekarr said. It wouldn't matter how much prevention and planning was put in place in this instance. Nothing can stop it. I'd like to know how you would suggest diverting the flood water elsewhere when there's nowhere to divert it to, especially in this case. Of course there's the ocean, but the rivers are already swollen and overflowing. Infrastructure on a grand scale as you suggest would be nigh impossible. As far as relief plans, as I said before they are always in place and are being enacted as they are every year. This year it's on a much larger scale due to unpreventable conditions. I have friends and acquaintances in the affected states and I have concerns for them even though I now know they are OK . Even if I didn't, I also care about the rest of the population because disaster could happen anywhere. It's bushfire season here as well. That will be the next thing and no matter how much prevention is put in place some things are just out of human control. It's only by sheer luck that there haven't already been fires, but summer isn't over yet and the arsonists seem to be quiet this year. EDIT: And that's my last word on this and any other subject. I would like to be able to debate and discuss matters in this section of the site forums, but when it's dictated to by a couple of members who tell us what to say and when (not meaning the Moderators. That's their job after all) I feel it's a pointless exercise in frustration.
  3. Seems pretty clear what the OP intended and there are plenty of existing debate threads concerning 'global warming' and green agendas. And that is all I have to say about that aspect and where some members want to steer this thread. @ Kendo2: Why does it matter to you where this thread goes and what people talk about as long as it's conducted in a civil manner? That's why there are moderators on these forums to keep things from going totally off track. You're not being forced to be here or to read the offending posts. The positivity as mentioned by the OP can also mean discussion about Global Warming as well as the El Nino and La Nina effects which are the main cause of this disaster. It's pretty difficult to talk about the actual event without mention of the actual causes, or possible ones. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/El_Ni%C3%B1o-Southern_Oscillation The OP also asked people to post about how they would cope or are coping, and that in itself may not necessarily positive, but talking to others in similar situations can be cathartic. It doesn't need to be all doom and gloom. I live in Southern Australia and am fortunate to not be in the areas affected by flooding. However, the fallout from this is going to affect the entire country for years to come. Economically, financially and in many other ways. Queensland itself produces something like 1/4 of the food the population consumes, since much of the country is desert and most production is done along and near the coastline. The mining and tourism industries have been badly damaged, but as in previous times they will manage to come back and be productive again. The Australian people will recover from this as we always do when there's a crisis. The Australian spirit is strong and we rally together when something like this happens, either by monetary donation or giving our time, physically and psychologically and any other way we can. Just having someone to talk to can do wonders even when you've lost everything. Of course there will be people who suffer shock and trauma, but help is there for anyone who needs it and they will get it without strings attached. The Federal and State Governments have pledged as much financial help as it takes. The Army and other emergency services are already there doing their part. The people of Queensland themselves are coming together and supporting each other. I'd say that's positive.
  4. All mounts, no matter what they are, even dogs and lions and probably motor bikes, are set up as horses due to the necessary skeleton and attached animations. As far as I'm aware this is also what controls the size of the mount, so that the animations and riding controls work properly. I've seen a couple of older mount mods that are sized too big in the CS, and the player sinks into the creature or the riding position is messed up. The "short" in the script is a scripting variable that declares an action. In this case it's telling the script that the player is or isn't mounted. It doesn't have anything to do with size of the creature. The "ref Self" is so the script references the creature, NPC or item it's attached to. ..ie the donkey as Self and which actions it's to perform, if any, like adding spells to the player in this instance. http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/Declaring_variables I also imagine that Mondstein's smaller donkeys are reduced meshes and not re-scaled in the CS, but they will still show as 1.00 in the stats form. Or, they have been created to a specific size in the CS as a separate creature so they remain small or whichever size they are meant to be. Might be an idea to contact Mondstein if you wish to clarify it. This might also be of interest: The Oblivion Mount Project http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=5246 It has a good Readme in the archive and explains how, for different size creatures, different scaled skeletons are required. If the included ones aren't of use, ie lions and dogs/wolves, there's a tutorial on the CS Wiki on how to make your own rideable creature. Requires the use of Nifskope and also explains the skeleton with regard to re-sizing. http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/Making_Ridable_Creatures
  5. I could probably help since I'm using the CS for Nehrim for modding purposes, but I don't know what the quest names would be in English as in the CS they are written in German and I'd need to translate them. I'm assuming you are using the English version of Nehrim. If you're familiar with the Oblivion CS you can easily use it to view Nehrim files with a couple of steps. Copy two files from the Oblivion directory to the Nehrim root directory: TESConstructionSet.exe ssce5432.dll Then make a shortcut on your Desktop and add Nehrim to the end of the name so you know which is which. When you load it only put a check next to the Nehrim esm (don't make it active) and then go to Character - Quests. You will then see all the stages and names. Keep in mind if you use the console in game you will need to use different keys as the keyboard changes to German via the ini. I just Googled a picture of a German keyboard which was a big help. Otherwise, unless someone can help with German language here, you would probably be better asking at the SureAi forums, but it means registering. They have an English section. http://www.sureai.de/forum/index.php?sid=dee6539b1538b1c4963265fc1a94c402 :)
  6. You have two esps related to Martigen's Monster Mod, but you don't have MMM as far as I can see or you didn't list it. That will stop the game loading at start up exactly as you describe because the MMM Master file is missing. Remove these two files: Open Cities + Cats & Rats for MMM.esp Martigen's Monster Mod - Resized Races.esp Try running BOSS again to set your load order. Except for a couple of exceptions your Bashed Patch should be at the bottom of the list. :)
  7. I found this thread too late. I can't login to the forum so I can't change my password (fixed), plus my Yahoo Inbox was inundated with 50% more garbage than usual. Thank goodness it wasn't my personal email address. I appreciate the effort that's being made to fix the issue and and hope that "person" is prosecuted to the fullest extent. It's no-one's fault but hishers and no reflection on Tesnexus. It could happen to any site any time. EDIT: I managed to change my password after all and can now login.
  8. Satu Ra - Lord of Beasts. Slof made the meshes and textures and I made it into a companion. http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=OblivionMods.Detail&id=5114
  9. Yes, the ghost effect is bugged. I tried that with my Spirit Wolf mod a couple of years ago, and it backfired because using the spell to turn the player into a ghost with the wolf (quest related) turned the player invisible as soon as you equipped a weapon or performed any kind of action. I also had to make the wolf a summoned creature for the same reason...ie he would fast travel with you etc, but would be invisible forever after. There's possibly a way around it via OBSE, but I can't be bothered with it. I spent too much time trying to find a way round the issue. Anyway, to the main point. To create a spell to summon your horse take a look at my Creature Companion Tutorial. In post 3 you'll see a summon spell script and clear instructions on how to use it. In that particular instance I used an object to attach it to which gives you the spell when activated. But, you can also do it as shown in the 4th post where I added an updated companion script, or you could do it via a simple quest script. http://savageartistry.darkbb.com/tes-iv-oblivion-technical-info-f11/my-simple-creature-companion-tutorial-t129.htm That way you can leave the horse's packages as they are if you want to.
  10. Well if you can consider playing from 10pm until somewhere around 5:30am or so the next morning, continuously, (with a few short breaks to avoid pressure sores from sitting so long  ) and with no game issues whatsoever...the answer is yes, I love it. The only small gripe I have is the focus on interactive objects and positioning as you mentioned, but after awhile you get used to it. I downloaded the patch and installed it, only because it has a couple of little fixes besides the fps changes. I never had problems with the 30 fps cap or stuttering to start with. I must be very lucky as every game I have runs properly and I don't get the problems many others do, for which I'm grateful. Actually, it's more due to diligence in maintaining my system and investigating any problems thoroughly before I whinge about them. Usually, I find answers by searching Google or the particular game's forum. But, enough of that... I have all of those turned on without problems including v-sync. The only option I disabled is the Desktop Resolution matching for menus which didn't make any difference anyway. I have a 22" wide screen monitor using 1280x1024 on the desktop and that is only because any larger and everything is too small and strains my eyes. And I have new glasses.. I usually play all games at 1680x1050, but for some reason any resolution above my desktop doesn't appear in this game's options. It's not bothering me at the moment, but I will do some investigating since everyone else seems to be playing at differing resolutions that don't even appear in the list for some reason. I imagine since you're playing on a much larger monitor anything out of place would be noticeable, but I find the AA options in the game sufficient, no jaggies or at least they are so barely noticeable it's negligible. Now I have to split my spare time between DKS and Fallout:NV which also got an update today that improves performance and a few other things to a huge degree. These two game are the best I've played in a very long time and they both have huge replay value. I find it pretty amazing that Larian actually post daily in their forum. Such support is unheard of, at least for most games I've played, which is a lot! I'm being constantly amazed at the excellent writing in DKS and the intelligent humour, accompanied by the superb voice acting is brilliant. I'm still in Farglow, but getting close to leaving...I think. The attention to detail and some of the funny little touches are very good. For example, did you mind read the empty market stall next to the Inn? Needs a password, but I found it and got some nice loot. And the pig incident.. ;D I took The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy as a quest reward (for laughs), but it only had a few lines of text about the meaning of life and not the real answer. :whistling: It was the only choice left after the good stuff at that point anyhow. Anyway, I have to get back to the game now...I have to raise my lock pick skills. Too many chests and not enough skill... I can't wait to be able to transform and fly.
  11. Well, that's good news. Hopefully I'll have it tomorrow and I can test it out. Larian seem to be a group who actually support their users from what I've read . Plus this game is $20 cheaper than Arcania and it has the original game remastered, plus the previous expansion and the new one included. What more can you ask for. I found a post that translated that French review. Such high praise already and from players, not just sites with a vested interest. http://www.larian.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=423845#Post423845 Very encouraging indeed. I don't really care about character gen much. It's game play I'm interested in and as far as being 3rd person only, the Gothic series is the same and although you can use 1st person to a degree it's not optimal. Graphics don't worry me that much either, as long as I can run it. I had a look at the specs and I might have to use lower detail, but I don't have a choice at the moment. I'm going to need to replace my graphics card sooner rather than later anyway. Maybe I'll buy myself a Christmas present and get a new one. Everything else comes up to to spec. Speaking of Gothic I found a retexture and game play re-balancing mod for Gothic 2:NOTR. I don't know if I'll play it again soon, but I've said that before and gone back again. http://www.moddb.com/mods/gothic-2-notr-natures-fury/downloads/gothic-2-notr-natures-fury-v-1 Also if you're interested and you probably already know about it, but there's a big content addon for Gothic 3 which re-textures the whole game, adds new armour (faction related) weapons, new models, creature and monster re-textures, quests and much much more. Too much to list. http://forum.worldofplayers.de/forum/showthread.php?t=886288 I know many Gothic fans weren't very happy with G3, but I like it and with the Community Patch it's like a new game. At least it's closer to the true Gothic experience than the "other" game. With the patch it runs smooth as silk and is re-balanced. It's now closer to Gothic 2 which is what the CM team aimed for. Besides that the Community Patch team are working on Forsaken Gods and are looking at a release in the next few weeks if not sooner. Forsaken Gods, what an appropriate name for such a terrible game. The CM team have basically rewritten the whole game from the ground up. I bought is as a bargain bin purchase which is just as well because it was terrible. Another JoWood disaster. They outsourced it to an Indian developer called Trine and the game is so buggy it's unplayable, with missing quests, NPC's, different voices for the SAME actor, terrible frame rates and absolutely nothing to redeem it at all. Info: http://forum.worldofplayers.de/forum/showthread.php?t=902795 EDIT: So, I have Divinity II DKS, and it's all that I expected. According to the games' own forum people are very happy. Atmospheric music, excellent dialogue and voices, great combat system and much more. The graphics aren't state of the art, but that's a minor consideration for me anyway. Beauty is only skin deep, it's what's beneath the pretty pictures that's important to me. As far as the system requirements go I used one of those "Can I Play It" online check options which was basically full of crap. The setting they listed as necessary don't even exist in the game manual so that's extremely misleading for many people. I can max out the game despite that it said I'd need to use medium settings and it runs perfectly smooth with no hitching or stutters. I doubt I'll need a performance patch since I don't see how it can run better than it is. :whistling: However, I will revise that later if things change in particular areas of the game. I should mention that I use Windows XP and will continue to do so until MS and or the gaming industry no longer supports it. It's never failed me yet.
  12. Well I've already paid for Divinity II via pre-order at EB Games and on Thursday they had no release date saying their vendors hadn't even received it for distribution. They've changed dates a couple of times on their website and now it says available. They were supposed to ring me on Friday but didn't, so I'll be ringing them on Monday to find out what's going on unless they call me first. Otherwise I'll go there and see if they've sorted it out. Had the same drama with Arcania and look how that turned out.. :wallbash: I would appreciate your review of Divinity though since we both seem to like the same style in rpg's. I have an Nvidia card and I didn't really notice the lack of AA in Risen to tell you the truth. Before the patch it used to have some stuttering in a lot of places, but it seems to have been fixed. I never had issues with it not remembering settings either. Luck of the draw I think sometimes with games and their "foibles." :turned: For a creature that essentially should be a fragile thing despite their size, those moths are a real pain. The Tomb Moths aren't too bad but wait until you come across the Talon Moths if you haven't already. One tip: don't go to Harbour Town until you are told to otherwise you can't leave....well not by normal means anyway. They will tell you that anyway depending on which entrance you use. There is a place where you can jump out if necessary, and get back in, but it will put you offside with the guards if you're seen.
  13. Actually looking through that site linked GOG.com it has Arx Fatalis and Gothic 2 . The graphics of Arx Fatalis are pretty good for the time it was made and still look OK. It's the game play that makes it though and it's hard. I nearly always go with a mage character and you have to learn magic anyway in this game. You can get by without magic but it's not easy. The way you learn spells is actually very different and I did say hard..lol. The stealth system is very good as well. That Dragon Age video... Thanks for the first good laugh of the day. I get the impression he didn't like it much. Have a look at this though. The guy in the DA video refers to this game, but it's a PS3 exclusive unfortunately for PC gamers. This is what a game should be. It's an IGN review, but I've looked it up on other sources and it gets the thumbs up. 9/10 and you don't see that much these days. Demon Souls. ROFL. Not much else to say is there. It's a sign of the times and not just in games. BTW I see that Divinity II release has been delayed to an unknown time. It was supposed to be yesterday, but maybe that's a good thing. If there are problems hopefully they will be fixed for release. Here's hoping for Risen. Make sure you get the patch. It fixes some graphic and quest issues.
  14. my words :D. Nice to see other Gothic-players, I thought I'm the only one hehe. Part 4 seem to be a real bad step in the wrong direction. Bad reviews everywhere and I'm not sure if it makes sense to dl the demo.. _frost_ The Gothic series is a genre of it's own I think. There aren't many games, very few in fact, that I play again and again but this is one of them. I nearly always find a different way to play and since there are several paths and styles of play it's well worth the money I paid over many times. But, whenever I mention it either to friends who are RPG gamers or on forums I can see their eyes glaze over and their attention wandering. It's too hard, there are no quest markers, the world is too big, too much talking and reading, and on and on. Some people don't like that it has no gender selection, but I'm female and and an "older" gamer and it doesn't bother me. Besides, the story is set around Nameless, a male hero and it just wouldn't work as a female IMO. It's a harsh, dark and dangerous world where every move could be your last and I can understand I suppose, why many can't get into it. I could talk about the Gothic games and how great they are ad nauseum, but I'd better stop here... :whistling: If I were you I wouldn't even bother downloading the Arcania demo unless you have some bandwidth to spare, but I guess it would give you an idea of how bad it is. On the Arcania forums, before the actual game was released players were hoping that the demo was an unfinished preview of the full game, but alas not. @ Marthos Despite that I relented and bought Arcania against all odds, I'm usually picky when it comes to games. In the distant past I used to buy anything that came out, which is why I have a large collection, some of which were installed, played for an hour or so and then abandoned. I don't do that anymore. Even though Two Worlds got bad reviews I like it for a number of reasons and after it was patched it turned out better than expected. Those patches amounted to a GB or more as well. I was waiting for TW2, but it's been put back until next year and I'll try and hold off until I see actual player reviews before I buy it. It's hard to recommend anything recent. I have a friend who raves about Dragon Age and how it has a great story and music, but turn based combat isn't my thing and I really don't get how it can be better than real time combat. I told him I could get a good story from a novel and listen to a CD if I wanted to listen to good music without the frustration. I do have the first Stalker game but I didn't play it much. Maybe I'll give it another go and look for the sequels. I'm not interested in online games either. I have another friend who was almost addicted to WOW to the point where it affected his personal life, and like you I don't like the cartoony graphics (or the colour purple.) I agree. The time it must have taken to hand place every object in Nehrim down to the trees and rocks etc shows they love and care about what they do and they deserve much respect. If I didn't know I would have thought it was a commercial game. I know a lot of people have issues with STEAM and there are many having problems with Fallout:New Vegas, but I must be one of the lucky ones. In over 55 hours I've had 3 crashes and one freeze and no bugs or glitched quests which I think is pretty good. I feel for the players having issues and there are a ton of threads about the game so I wont go into details except to say I prefer it over FO3 for a lot of reasons. If you can get hold of Dues Ex I'd highly recommend it. Even though it's getting a bit old now and the graphics are dated, it still has a big following. It's a very big game with many hours of play, multiple endings and very good story and there was a huge total conversion released earlier this year or late last year. Plus there are a number of other great mods for it. My favourite game of all time, for it's genre, is Half Life 2 which since I have STEAM installed again now, I might reinstall and play again. I was surprised actually that STEAM still had my details from back then so I didn't need to make a new account. Other than that, I've been digging around among my old games and I would recommend Thief 3:Deadly Shadows, Vampire The Masquerade:Bloodlines, Arx Fatalis, Dark Messiah of Might and Magic and The Chronicles of Riddick to name a few for replay value. Most of those should still be available except maybe Arx Fatalis, but this site has a lot of older games that are worth a look and for a nice price. They even have Gothic 1. http://www.gog.com/en/frontpage/ It looks like I'll be going back to some of these older games since there isn't much around now or coming that interests me. ;D True. Our local EB Games has a small area for PC games and the rest is for the consoles. Admittedly there are several consoles to cater to, but if you want a PC game you have to order it in unless it a latest release or conversions of those Pop Cap games like Jewel Quest and some other bargain bin titles. Oh and I nearly forgot. I mentioned Risen before. I would recommend that as well for a Gothic style experience. It's a lot shorter, and it had a couple of quest bugs that were patched, but it's a pretty good game for all that.
  15. Well, I'm hoping Divinity II does well. I never had the original and I did read it was very buggy. It used the Gamebyro engine which speaks volumes, but this time they've overhauled the game and used a new engine so I'll wait and see. For the price which is a third less than Arcania, it's a bargain since the pack we're getting here includes the first addon and the new Dragon Knights Saga so that increases the game play by a huge amount. I have played Nehrim actually. I was part of the English translation team, but I didn't get far with that because I had system issues which thankfully have been resolved. Nehrim is excellent and runs perfectly even though it has higher requirements than vanilla Oblivion. I installed it with no problems even though I use FCOM and a ton of other mods. They had no effect anyway since Nehrim has it's own install directory. I've converted my own and other mods to use with it as well. Trouble is I'm bored with Oblivion itself and even though Nehrim tries to emulate the best of Gothic style play it still has the Oblivion feel to it and they are a bit limited in what they can do with the engine. What they did though was astounding and a credit to them. I'm looking forward to Dues Ex 3 next year. That's as long as they stay true to the first game and don't do what they did with Dues Ex 2. I've read that a lot game developers are turning to "casual" style of play these days which is a sad thing for serious gamers.
  16. I'm a huge fan of the Gothic series (except Forsaken Gods) and have played all of them multiple times. I was so looking forward to a fourth game, which was supposed to tie up the story and probably end the series. I even replayed Gothic 3 (Enhanced) again with the new Content Packs and German Questpacket, which is excellent. The best of them all though IMHO, is Gothic 2:Night of the Raven. However, I am ashamed to admit that even after reading the Arcania forums and all the negative feedback I still bought it and it's the PC version, so I'm stuck with it. I guess I was somehow desperately hoping for a true Gothic game, not a (lacking adequate description for this total waste of money) watered down, very basic action adventure with questionable RPG elements. It is a beautiful game, but the system requirements are very high, which is fine, IF there was any substance at all in the actual game. All the crafting, free roaming, immersive interaction with the game world and it's inhabitants, etc,etc just don't exist. It's all a facade, pretty but a pointless waste of time. Besides the voice acting being atrocious, the lip synch is terrible if non existent. Everything Marthos says is true although I wouldn't have said the graphics were blurry or flickering. I did have to turn off a lot of settings though so I could actually run the game, even with the performance patch released on the same day as the Euro release, or very soon after. My system comes around halfway between Minimum and Recommended so it should have been better than it was. Not that it matters because it looks like another title that will be gathering dust. There are a few mods for it, including one to stop the camera zooming way out in combat so you can actually see what it is you're fighting, and it works well. At the moment they are editing the .xml files due to having no editor. Marthos, you played for half an hour, , I persevered until I had to zap some bugs in an underground cave for a witch with the most irritating voice I've heard in a game for a long time. That was several hours, most of which was trying to get the game to run properly, but then I gave up. That's all still on the tutorial island, so the main game hasn't even started. What's laughable is this game was supposed to be released on Oct 5, but was delayed here in Australia until the same week as Fallout New Vegas which I also have and am enjoying immensely. At least one of the two were worth it. This week Divinity II:The Dragon Knight's Saga is out. I'm hoping it has the playability and longevity that was cut from Arcania. From what I've read it will be a worthy replacement...fingers crossed. The original developers of the Gothic series, Piranha Bytes split from Jowood after, I think Gothic 3 due to irreconcilable business differences and went on to make Risen which was pretty good, if short. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piranha_Bytes At least it was in the same style, despite that it was banned here for implied drug use and adult themes, and still is. Thank goodness for online stores. Maybe the community can do something with Arcania like they did for Gothic 3, but they have their work cut out. There are a couple of people already staring so maybe it can be redeemed somewhat, but that will only happen if JoWood releases an editor. I look forward to Risen 2 with anticipation. Arcania:Gothic 4, what a disappointment. The worst thing of all is they called it Gothic 4. :pinch: JoWood should be ashamed of what they've done to the series.
  17. You can do it the way I added the sneak function to my creature companions so they detect if you are sneaking. You need a reference which is "ref GetSelf" in this case, which refers to the lion. If you have other conditions you'll need to adjust "if" and "endif" blocks to tell it when to start and stop. scn AASherJaScript ref rEnemy short doOnce ref GetSelf ;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;; begin OnActivate if IsActionRef player SetIgnoreFriendlyHits 1 if doOnce == 0 Player.addspell AASherJaSpell set doOnce to 1 endif if (GetSelf.GetForceSneak == 0) && (player.IsSneaking == 1) GetSelf.SetForceSneak 1 elseif (GetSelf.GetForceSneak == 1) && (player.IsSneaking == 0) GetSelf.SetForceSneak 0 endif if LionFollow == 1 set LionFollow to 0 Message "'Sher Ja, wait for me.'" elseif LionFollow == 0 set LionFollow to 1 Message "'Sher Ja, come with me.'" endif EvaluatePackage playGroup Idle 1 else activate endif end That should get you started. :)
  18. I'm sure this has been covered somewhere, but looking thru several thousand posts to find it is no fun .. Why are existing esp files unusable? If nehrim is based on the Oblivion engine then the nif and dds files must be the same. whats different? Just the location of nehrim on your hard drive? It's because Nehrim has absolutely nothing to do with Oblivion except that it uses it's resources and engine. It's a totally new world, story and system. Mods made for Oblivion will not work so must be deactivated as they have nothing to refer to and will crash the game. The game engine Oblivion uses is also utilized by other games that have nothing to do with TES or Bethesda. There are plenty of links for everyone to find the info in the OP, especially the FAQ and Install Guide. @billypnats: Since Nehrim must be installed into it's own folder, NOT the Oblivion directory, the CS needs to be directed to the Nehrim files. I found this info on the Nehrim forum: Copy these files from your Oblivion directory to the Nehrim root directory, like this - Nehrim\TESConstructionSet.exe Nehrim \ ssce5432.dll Then make a Desktop shortcut to the CS exe in the Nehrim folder. Rename it to TESConstruction Set (Nehrim) and it will work. Only activate the esm and not the esp. The CS will still work for Oblivion by using the exe or shortcut for Oblivion in it's directory.
  19. As does mine. Wise words, grannywils, thank you. @ Balagor: Exactly. No matter what or who dies, it all decays and returns to the earth one way or the other. A human death is no more special, except to the people who knew them, than an animal, many species of which do mourn and recognize the death of one of their own. I much prefer the company of my dog than people. She doesn't judge me, loves me for who I am and doesn't betray my trust. I'm a cat and dog person, I just don't have a cat at the moment. The last one died at 22 years of age. This not specifically directed at you Vindekarr, but I have concerns about your post as outlined by grannywils. I'm not going to go into great detail, been there, done that and was bullied for it(different thread, similar subject), except to say the strong will always prey on the weak and I don't necessarily think humans are the smartest species just because we have opposable thumbs. We, as a species still kill, maim, torture, exploit and disenfranchise the weak whether it's another human, an animal or the environment. I personally believe humans are the worst thing that happened to this planet. We are more likely to destroy it and ourselves rather than reach an enlightened state...or global peace. I have little respect for the human race as a whole. Let's just say if I came upon a situation where I could save an animal or a person from danger, I would probably save the animal first. A person who feels no empathy for the weak, especially the so called lesser creatures does have a problem as far as I'm concerned. Caring about animals and the earth is a sign of respect for all life, not just the parts that suit at the time or is in fashion. Without that, we will never evolve further than the warlike sectors of humanity who control the world.
  20. I'll be eagerly awaiting your contribution to the modding community shaneray. Being rude and judgmental gets you nowhere and no-one will even consider what you want let alone spend the enormous amount of time required to do this because of the attitude. Most people who mod do things they themselves want first and sharing is a bonus. I see this and think "ignorance." Here's a good place for you to start learning. The Elder Scrolls Wiki. http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/Main_Page I created a race called Gypsy Moon that besides being a race has it's own campsite with elaborate tents, a horse and dog and books to explain the presence of Gypsies in Tamriel. Or at least one Gypsy. I had intended at one stage to extend it, but like everyone else says it's too much work and I had and have other things I want to do. Besides that I made it the way I wanted it to be not the way others wanted it despite some issues I had with people with your attitude. Edited.
  21. It sounds like the body replacer is the only mod you are currently trying to use otherwise you would already have meshes and textures folders unless other mods are an esp only. As it says in the Readme move the meshes and textures folders from Dimon's to your data folder. Make sure you've downloaded all the relevant files ie..the meshes and textures are in separate files and you can customize which type of body you want by installing the meshes for that type. For example if you want the Base HD Body install only those meshes. The textures work for all varieties. If you search TYPE 3 in the Categories section of Fallout 3 Nexus you will also find replacers for the vanilla clothing and armour which are very good. The files are not added to the Fallout - Meshes.BSA. That is the archive that contains all the meshes required by the game when you install the actual game. If you don't have a meshes and or textures folder you need to create them, but since you are installing a mod that already has them all you need do is add those folders to your data folder. Next time you add another mod with those folders you will be asked to overwrite. Do so. Nothing will be removed or changed, but the new files will be added.
  22. One thing I'd ask first is how you have Mart's Mutant Mod - Increased Spawns.esp without the Mart's esm etc. This would be a problem in itself, but not related to the DLC's. Anyway, I recently started playing Fallout 3 again (after a long break) with FOOK2 and I'm now at level 20 and have done Point Lookout and I've just started Mothership Zeta. I've had no issues besides a few random CTD's which is pretty normal for the game and usually after a long play session. However, I'm only using FOOK2 plus a few other mods that don't interfere with anything FOOK adds. Did you read the documentation that came with the FOOK files regarding installation? It has a load order guide as well as which files you must and must not use. I'd advise getting BOSS-f to sort your load order as well. Here is the install guide from the Readme: The whole thing is too long to post but there is a thread here on these forums with the complete text if you search. The DLC's have been delayed by default as in you don't get the notification straight out of the vault. This is for immersion. You have to explore to find them. I can tell you to start Point Lookout you need to visit Rivet City first and speak to someone. Then the boat should appear when the quest starts. Since you have FOSE use the "O" key (not zero) to change or review FOOK2 options. You can also force start the DLC's this way, meaning you'll get the radio messages. You could also go to the FOOK forum to read through info on which mods work with FOOK and other important info. http://www.yourfook.com/forum/ Note also that followers have been changed with FOOK so if you decide to use other mods that add them you may have problems. I didn't really like the changes to vanilla followers at first but after getting used to them I find it very good and very easy to manage. There is an NPC added called Gary outside Megaton who will help with followers if you have issues...like them getting lost, which is not a FOOK issue itself but happens in vanilla as well. Plus he can help with many other things. The work that's gone into developing all this is amazing to say the least.
  23. Calling someone and especially DorkDiva a troll for removing the content they made and decided to share seems quite odd and rude to me. After all most modders create for themselves first and if they wish to share that is their decision alone and not up to you and others to rule on their actions. Just look at all the private mods people keep whining about. When a mod entry displays a screen shot of something that's private they are hounded and pestered into the ground about making it available. Why should they have to? There is at least one mod I could name immediately that shows pictures of private clothing and items where many of the comments were asking (read demanding) for these items and not about the mod itself. I removed my mods some time ago to a central site due to life issues I was having, (which still continue), so I could manage them without worrying about trolls and having to visit several sites to check on them. I can also tell you people don't seem to have a problem finding my mods. I'm also not in it for the downloads, kudos, fame or the trolls, which I've had plenty of along with many other modders. This is why I won't be re-uploading my files here or anywhere else but where they are now hosted. I can't name anyone who has been banned and lost access to files either, but I'm not interested in taking that chance because I might have an opinion that goes against the grain on a bad day. Granted, it's not a good idea idea to post in a bad mood but many do and regret it later, sometimes too late. I rarely even post here anymore because having an opinion, even without pushing it down people's throats, can get you bullied or ridiculed. I can if necessary provide that info, but I can't see the point. Yes, there is the option of disabling mod comments, but that also limits useful feedback from sensible people which I like to have so I make changes if necessary AND if it's something I myself wish to do. Disclaimers on what can be done with people's mods and where they can be uploaded etc are nice, but are ignored every day. At least here at Tesnexus there is control, but that doesn't apply elsewhere. I also acknowledge the hard work of the moderators here and that many forums are a free for all where anything goes, but in the end it's my choice what I do with my files and where I express myself. Just as it is for DorkDiva, SavageArtistry and others. As a modder and a human being I don't have to put up with trolls, immaturity or bullying without being able to express my own views, and if I choose not to I think that's up to me. If people see modders who remove their files as being weak, selfish or immature, well so be it. The selfish ones are the people who demand what is created for free and shared without reservation. That's reverse psychology if you want to analyze it.
  24. Your problem is definitely caused by not giving the race a unique ID. Go here for a good race creation tutorial to get you started. http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/Creating_a_new_race
  25. What you need is Forecaster's Will. http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=10121 It adds a spell which when cast gives a selection menu for whichever weather type you want. Works perfectly. I know this mod works with Natural Environments, but I don't know about other weather mods.
