  1. I know they could in Oblivion, if I'm not mistaken. I recall an event with a begger stealing a loaf of bread, and being promptly impaled by 20 angry guards.

As for Skyrim, I don't think so. You could mod it so that if an NPC does a certain action, all the guards become hostile to them. I know that if an NPC accidentally strikes a guard while attacking something else, the guard becomes hostile to them, so in theory it should be possible.

  2. Hi guys

So i've recently started playing Skyrim again as I never finished Dawnguard and now that Dragonborn is to be released, I thought I'll start a new character. ( Well , I didn't have much of a choice there as while I was updating all my mods I ended up corrupting my old save files :wallbash:)

The thing is, I don't want to grind through all the leveling up stuff, so I was planning to use batch files to make my new character get an extra edge and breeze through the game. For that I had used a mod that helps you create batch files. I remember downloading it from the Utilities category but I can't find it anymore. all you have to do is select al the options and quantity in the program and press create, and there you have your batch file. Saves a lot of time on searching for perk codes and typing or doing copy-paste etc.

I wanted to know if that mod is still available on Nexus ?

Secondly, is there any mod that lets me go beyond the level cap? It always annoyed me that I couldn't get all the perks coz I usually play my character as a jack of all trades, and not strictly role playing. And the limited number of perk points I get to spend was annoying. I used to have all the perks added using the console commands.

Thanks guys. Looking forward to your replies.

    Cheers!

PS: EDIT-- Can someone also suggest a mod for fixing the invisibility eye glitch ? Also I would like to know if there are any alternatives to the vanilla invisible spell. I usually play stealth characters ( Actually I just love sniping them from a distance and then hiding, picking them off one by one :thumbsup:.) I used to craft lots of potions and keep chugging them after shooting every arrow and that starts to get annoying fast and also led to that annoying glitch with the glowing Draugr eyes ( Maybe it was because i was spamming the detect life dragon shout  ) Anyway, I don't remember the fix for that and was hoping if the community can suggest some alternatives. Thanks

  3. I'm looking for a lighting mod that will give me more vivid colors, I want more of a fantasy/dreamy look to my game, Skyrim is too washed out for my taste

Grab any ENB you like, say this one for example

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/15105 - Extreme Graphics Vision ENB

Then grab this tool here and tweak to your hearts content.

    http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/17400 - ENB Customizer

You may also want to try this tool, if you want something quick and effective, although the end results are slightly less stunning, you can achieve 'colorful-fantasy' type very easily, and the entire editing menu process is in-game.

    http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/13049 - IMAGINATOR

Personal suggestion, feel free to ignore this, but you may also want to look up replacers for the moons and 'galaxy', this is what I did, and it gave a much more 'fantasy' look to my skyrim.

    http://i49.tinypic.com/adohth.jpg

    http://i48.tinypic.com/nwwyub.jpg

  4. My personal suggestion, because it's just textures, just download them manually and drop the textures in the data folder. I remember having issues with the main big file for that mod, and had to download the individual ones. (I wasted a LOT of time downloading the big one for it to not unzip right - I googled it and learned the type of zip file it is is a multi-part zip, that is impossible to unzip with any existing version of any unzipper unless you have the other parts to it, and there IS no other parts. SUPPOSEDLY a really old version of 7Zip can do it, but it's impossible to get now days, and that could be just rumor anyways.)

If NMM asks to 'update' the mod when you try to install one of the other ones, say NO, and it may let you have more then one. This issue happens if you install subparts of mods too, it can't tell the difference between multiple different mods with the same name. Usually just saying "NO" to the "Do you want to update this mod?" lets you keep both however.

  5. To start, if you are just going to say 'remove better then real DOF" please don't bother posting, obviously if I remove the mod that caused the error it will fix the error. I'm not a total dumbass. The thing is, I really like this combination, and I want to get them to work, I have the ENB customizer, so I'm sure there is SOMETHING I can do to FIX this issue rather then gut the mod causing it. If I absolutely can't fix it, I will eventually break down and take the better then real DOF off, but I can do that all by myself without being told too, I made this thread to see if I can FIX this issue first. I'm repeating myself because 9 times out of 10 when I make a thread on how to make a mod work with another mod I'm just told to remove it 10 times in a row, when I already have several 'incompatible' mods in my game that I managed to make compatible with a few tiny edits. Removing a mod is NOT fixing it.

ANYWAYS. Here is all the information you should need. Anyone who can point me towards a fix to get this DOF working with this ENB will be much loved.

The effects on the world itself seem to only happen in dark caves/dungeons, (and got significantly worse around a dragon word wall) I also have a permanent effect on my characters hair (which is blackish red, edited by the RaceMenu mod)

  6. CoT is VERY incompatible with some ENBs, you have to make extra extra double sure the ENB you are using is compatible with it, I dealt with this issue a lot, one time, my entire screen was color inverted.

CoT has it's own ENB which works very well with it, which includes a cinematic version which is pretty stunning, SkyRealism also has an ENB that has basically ZERO incompatibilities, and thus works with CoT, and I currently use Project ENB with CoT, and I get no color errors whatsoever. Well, minus a very annoying redshift that happens when I use 'predator vision', but I don't account that to my ENB ot CoT, sense it's very isolated.

The reason CoT messes with ENBs is it's NOT a weather mod, it's a climate overhaul, it changes the sun, the sky, the clouds, lights, shadows, fog, snow, rain, almost every aspect of the 'atmosphere' of the game, which is why it's so stunning when it works properly. It's like SkyRe to me, it can be a pain to get working with certain mods sometimes, but I simply can't play skyrim without it anymore!

    Which ENB are you using?

  7. KnightRangersGuild: They aren't packed in a BSA, I'm manually manipulating the files in the textures/sky folder

gamefever: You aren't telling me anything I didn't learn months ago, when I do a 'fresh install' I'm unpacking a zipped file containing completely vanilla skyrim that I made before I installed a single mod and just deleting the entire 'old' Skyrim folder, so your point their is totally moot. Also, I've been messing with the textures/sky folder very extensively trying to fix the issue, so that doesn't help at all either. I know one of the files in this folder is likely causing the issue, but short of just deleting the entire folder (which would totally destroy CoT) I don't see how that helps me fix the issue. I was hoping someone could point me to which file was causing this issue.

  8. Alright, I am really getting sick of this glitch, I have tried uninstalling every moon mod I have, installing totally different ones I even completely reinstalled my game, and I STILL have moons that shine brighter then my sun. This is veryveryveryvery frustrating, I have put So much effort into making my skyrim L/O perfect, and it is, accept for this one extremely game breaking issue.

I would also like to point out, that for a while I DIDN'T have the error, but I replaced the skyrimgalaxy.dds with another file, and it showed back up on this reinstall, I tried replacing that file with the one I had before, no luck, I tried removing it altogether, no luck.

I don't get it, NOTHING seems to be causing this, every single mod I am using that modifies the sky in any way shape or form is totally different from when I first had this issue, I am on a totally new install of skyrim, I am using a new ENB even, yet STILL the issue persists.

The ONLY thing my game shares in common with the first one is I am using Climate of Tamriel. I used this mod for a looooong time before I had this kind of error however.

This is simply NOT an ignorable issue, i is extremely and intensely immersion breaking, distracting, and just plan annoying as hell.

  9. I'm working on making skyrim more 'alien', I want it to feel like I am honestly on an alien world. I would love to eventually turn my project into a 'compilation mod', after getting permission from the other authors who's work fit into this of coarse.

This was inspired by a combination of two mods that made skyrim feel so much more alien with one simple change.

    http://i46.tinypic.com/szwi1z.jpg

Now, I plan on re-installing skyrim to be more 'alien', yet still keeping with the elder scrolls feel.

I would really like to be able to change the size and color of the sun, as well as change the color of the sky, I'd also like to find an ENB that makes the world feel very alien. I already have an idea to replace the galaxy in the night sky. Does anyone have any suggestions for mods to go into this build of skyrim, or any advice on how to do these changes I listed?

I kind of thought the new 'tropical skyrim' mod could be combined into this, to make skyrim feel like a completely different world, but the coldness is a very important part of skyrim to me, so I'm not sure on this.

  10. You must not know very much about the land of skyrim, but I guess I do personally think they are too COMMON, about half of all guards are women, it should be more like a random on occasion thing, not 3 out of every 5 guards in the town are women.
  11. I'd love to help in any way I can with this mod. My experience is limited, but I'm a fast learner. At first I was thinking this mode somehow lead to becoming high king, or emperor, I would love to see an extension of this that lets you do something I've wanted to do since the very first time I played skyrim. It kind of evolves a little story though.

Kinjii of the Snow, young intelligent khajiit mage journeys to skyrim in hopes of completing his mastery of frost magic, discovers the land torn by war, feeling sympathy for the stormcloacks, he joins their ranks, after discovering his dragonborn nature, he becomes their secret weapon, single handedly winning the war for Ulfric. However, in this time, Kinjii's opinion of Ulfric had soured, having made more then one trip to the grey quarter. As Ulfric gives his victory speech, he is shouted to his knees by the dragonborn, demanding the stormcloack army fight in the name of the dragonborn, to assure skyrim's future safety. The dragonborn, then of coarse demands be named high king, promising to vanquish the dragon and elven scourge from the land.

I could see this going to the point of a full RTS, if the effort is put in, you could wage wars against the Aldmeri Dominion on islands. As well as epic battles against 'colonies' of dragons, the eventually result being forcing both out of Skyrim for good, and even possibly aiming for the role of the new empror, if your character is corrupt enough to assassinate him. I don't see much gameplay benefit of that however, other then just being fun to have the title. I would love to sea return of the 'dragonborn amulet' which was said to have great powers when worn by a dragonborn. I am not 100% sure if it was destroyed at the end of oblivion or just lost (possible even to another plane(t) as that seems to happen with powerful artifacts in TES.

Really I wish skyim had gone with something like that from the start, letting you reestablish the empire as the new, true emperor, starting a new line of septim-like heirs.

  12. One thing I would like to suggest, though I know it's a shot in the dark, and perhaps somewhat unrealistic, is a mod to accept input from the Kinect to control your characters limbs. Can you imagine looking down at yourself, and being able to move your arms and seeing them almost like real? Yeah I know that there are issues, and having the Kinect would bog down the system, and all that. Just wanted to put it out there as a possible addition to the immersion factor of the game. Now if only you could combine that with the Playstation Move and use the Move controllers to swing the sword, block with the sheild, shoot the bow, cast spells.... It would be like standing in skyrim with a heavy helmet and goggles on, for real.

Kinect/move... not so excited tbh.. too lo-fi, last generation tech. Now if we consider the razer hydra or the Leap motion.. that gets me excited.

Imagine what could be done with a few of these leap sensors:

I saw one random video of the maker of the OR describing a glove with sensors connected to the helmet, so that you could control the game with your hands, and the game could always no wear your hand is relative to your face. Something like that would likely have to have a game built around it though, but the implications it could have. Could you imagine waving your fingers to see your character match the exact movement in game?

I also thought about combing this with the mood that lets you shout at your microphone to use shouts and gie orders to your followers.

All we're missing is a rotating treadmill and we can have perfect virtual reality. How cheap it could be amazes me as well, I can't imagine the gloves costing more then $100-$150 based on the price of existing ones and complexity that kind of technology would have. (I imagine simple 'bend' detectors on each finger and possibly the wrist, and then trackers on each finger tip, so it can know where each one is compared to each other one, and then compared to the head.)

  13. I think extreme cold should just slow down the undead, you have to think if they are freezing up they're already limited movement speed is going to take a hit. They should still get some of the nerf effects of frostfall, but should not be able to die from it. I mean, really, how can you freeze the dead to death? Burning them makes logical sense, if you burn their body up, they fall apart.

I do think freezing solid sounds like a good idea, but if an enemy happens to be close by and you can't just wait it out, it can be a real pain in the ass.

Frostfall would really need to change so that you freeze first, then dye soon after, and so that the undead just don't die, and stay frozen until the blizzard passes, or the sun comes up, etc.Though falling in the water and freezing solid could spell doom, for the undead, as they sing to the bottom, frozen forever.

  14. I could give it a shot. I think I'm pretty good at making characters with pretty faces, here's an example of one of my current main characters.

    http://i50.tinypic.com/3495cpc.jpg

    http://i50.tinypic.com/10msjsj.jpg

    http://i46.tinypic.com/x39082.jpg

I'll have to give it a shot when I have the time to mess with skyrim sometime.

  15. I don't know whether making the moons bigger will create problems (my guess is the only problems would be with the textures possibly looking stretched...but don't quote me on that).

As far as how to change the size, it's a game setting. In the CK, go the Gameplay at the top, then Settings... The two settings you're looking for are iMasserSize and iSecundaSize. Just adjust the numbers as you like and save.

I can be so derp with the CK sometimes, I basically rebuild races from scratch without thinking about it, but I go in to edit one tiny value and get stuck for hours. :whistling: thanks.

As for the texture, it's pretty decent one, at the 3x size it doesn't look blurry or stretched. It's saturn, and I want to make it big enough to look like a planet nirn is orbiting, so I'm really hoping this works out. :)

  16. I'm searching for a mod that adds masks to the game, you know the kind that just covers your nose and below, kinda ninja esque. It would complete my shadow ranger look.

I've found Sundracorn's Half-Mask but it has such jagged edges, would like something closer to the skin.

Anyone know of any mod that adds such masks?

I might be wrong here, but I believe one of the naruto 'overhauls' has a kakashi mask that kinda fits that description, but I wouldn't know which one.

  17. Hey, this may not be the best forum, but it's a mod related question and I'm sure one of you could answer this for me much quicker then I figure it out myself, so I'll just ask.

The mod "moon size tweeks" lets you well, change the size of the moons, and I LOVE this. But, even the largest one isn't quite big enough for what I need it for, does anyone know if...

    A) I make the moon any bigger then 3x it's size, will it create problems/errors/glitches/evilness?

    B) I can make a quick simple edit to this ESP to simply change the value a bit larger, and if so where would I find it? Because I looked for the moons for like, an hour and didn't find them, and I always get nervous changing random things in the CS. :whistling:
