Given what I have been seeing lately, I suspect it is more to the tune of "Running right up to the edge and taking a flying leap."...... :D And now, Biden is saying he won't sign the infrastructure bill that passed both house, unless he ALSO gets his 'other' infrastructure bill.... (with a whole buncha social programs that the repubbies simply won't accept, as it is mostly stuff they negotiated OUT of the infrastructure bill.) Our country is broken, and it is only getting worse.
  2. True, though I have never done so. :) If the idiots are too stupid to figure out which bed to sleep in..... well, they can just figger it out. That, and the game has a habit of 'forgetting' which settlers are assigned to what, when. It gets tedious reassigning them....

The dems would like nothing more than to repeal the 2nd amendment, and ban personal gun ownership altogether. Then they could implement whatever programs they wanted to, and 'the people' would have no recourse but to accept it. They know they can't do it all at once, so, they just do it in increments. First they ban large magazines, then they ban 'assault weapons' (for which we STILL don't have a definition that the majority agrees on...) once those are banned, and nothing changes..... they can extend that to other classes of weapons, until, in the end, ALL of them are banned......
  4. Won't help. I "air-gapped" my house in sanctuary. You had to use stairs to get to it, but, I left a gap between the stairs, and the entry to the house, so the navmesh would not be contiguous. Settlers couldn't walk in while I was there, but, they could spawn there when the cell loaded as I approached, or if I fast traveled there..... I just put in an elevator. And removed the couch, which seems to have been their goal (despite having their own places to sit). I may have to pull the food replicator though, so they don't teleport up for a snack. I've used elevators as well, yet Preston STILL seemed to think my bedroom was actually his..... :D I would find him there on a regular basis. NOT my idea of the preferred bed-partner. :D
  5. Might try using Buffout 4, it generates a log file when the game crashes. I have no idea if it will give any useful information in this circumstance though.... Might be worth a try.
  6. Ok, now that IS bizarre. :) Are you running any kind of auto-loot mod? (something that automatically takes everything from a containers inventory, and puts it in yours?)
  7. Nevermind. This simply isn't worth my time or effort. You believe whatever you want. I just hope that the folks you are feeding misinformation to, don't get bitten by it.

Biden just wants to take guns away from americans. He is using the rise in the crime rate as an excuse. Doesn't seem to matter to him that guns sales have spiked in the past, even while the crime rate was going DOWN. And this is happening while democrat controlled cities are defunding their police, various and sundry 'gun crime' units have been disbanded, a few of those cities have a severe shortage of police officers, simply due to the anti-police sentiment in those locations. And the politicians wonder why the crime rate is spiking........ Just goes to show you that anyone can be elected to office, regardless of their qualifications. Apparently, 'common sense' is NOT one of aspects that dem voters are looking for. Seems to me, that they are more concerned with being soft on criminals, making sure you can't defend yourself, and pushing the idea that if you are white, you are automatically racist, and hate everyone that is not white......

  10. It seems that some folks have issues with the mod, and some (most?) don't. It's been brought up a couple times in the mods comments, but, so far, no fix. Trouble is, the author simply can't reproduce the problem.... so, he doesn't know what to fix. One member suggested disabling Godrays.... see if that helped. Are you running the vanilla game with JUST this mod??
  11. Not sure I understand what you are asking here? Are all the crates/bodies/etc empty when you check them??
  12. I wonder if beth broke it, and just haven't gotten around to fixing it yet. And the whole 'we don't support he creation kit' thing is farking laughable. But then, that's beth, their 'tech support' has ALWAYS been essentially useless. I think they have a couple monkeys picking random responses to support requests..... Given the error you are seeing, with zero information where/what is erroring out, I think you are stuck...... Rumor has it, you can get it thru steam, but, you have to search specifically for 'creation kit'...... Don't know how much truth there is to that. That might be just the 32 bit version... (for fallout 3.... which just won't work for FO4)
  13. It's all about the PreVis. :) If two mods touch the same cell, the last one loaded wins. It appears that the bathroom mod changes previs, no idea why.... but, without those changes, you get the "view into the void" affect, if you have another mod that touches the same cell loading later, as THAT mods previs, (if present) trumps what's in the bathroom mod. If it doesn't contain previs information, I suspect it defaults back to vanilla, which will be broken. That's a guess... but, gives you the basic idea. :D
  14. Incorrect. NMM does the same thing MO, MO2, and Vortex do. They link files to the data folder, nothing is actually placed there, though windows will make it look like they are. Again, that changed back in the early 60's version of NMM, when they introduced profiles, and installing that version broke your install. :) and you had to reinstall all of your mods.
  15. Is there anything on Bethnet forums about this? (are they even still available???) I know you certainly can't post about it there any more.... Have you tried contacting Beth support? (yeah, I know, it's a joke, but, worth a shot.) Edit: One guy had success by uninstalling/reinstalling the bethnet launcher.
  16. Check the status of the Getting a Clue quest. Reunions should start automatically after it completes.
  17. I think vortex actually lets you pick and choose individually, which textures get priority from your load list. For NMM, (and I don't know about MO2) all you would really need to do is drag the texture mod you want to overide another, lower in the load order. But, it's an 'all or nothing' type of decision. Any overlapping files would be from the mod that loads later. If you are testing texture mods, installing, looking, removing, isn't a big deal. No actual files get overwritten. It's all in the load order.
  18. Folks with huge, complex setups, being reluctant to dink with it isn't NMM specific. I have zero issues testing mods using NMM. I am just careful to make sure that I save before adding the mod in question, and revert back to a pre-that mod save after I remove it. Zero issues. The whole 'NMM scary' thing likely relates back to older versions, that actually installed the mods to the Data folder. Hasn't done that since some version in the early 60's. In the end, there is no "Best" mod manager. They all do the job, and they all do it in pretty much the same way. Some have more features, bells, and whistles, but those are the only real differences. Use what you are comfortable with, and let others do the same.
  19. 70% of folks downloading with a manager are using Vortex now. :) (from a conversation in the mod authors forum.) NMM still works as intended, but yeah, removing mods mid-playthru is NOT without potential problems. A lot depends on just what the mod does, and how it does it. If it's script heavy, simply uninstalling the mod really isn't a good idea, unless you plan a starting a NEW game. Too much stuff gets left in the save. Adding mods mid playthru can be hazardous as well, but, not quite as much as removing them. Doing the mod shuffle when you plan on starting a new game, on the other hand, works just fine.
  20. The later versions of NMM handle mods the exact same way the other managers do. Mods are installed to a separate folder, and then that folder is hard-linked to the data folder. Deactivating a mod simply turns off the hard link.
  21. Somewhat less than legal, so, don't expect it to happen. If someone were to create *similar* outfits from scratch, that would be ok, but, a direct port violates all sorts of copyright laws.
  22. I've never had to download again, NMM keeps it for me, even if I have to reinstall it. the first time i hear that form a serious nmm user. most of them tell me they avoid deinstallion or testing mods due to the risk of destabilization. if you like to deal with many mods nmm and manual installation is simply a nightmare because a deinstallation of a buggy mod or at least sorting it out is simply impossible without risk of destabilizing the whole setup. this problem is commonly known and i'm wonderng how anyone who likes modding can still just ignore this. the more complex the mod setup is the more nmm or manual mod maintanance will be a nightmare if you want to avoid a full reinstallation due to a messed up mod. i'm pretty sure this is one of the main reasons nmm was kicked and there is no offiicial support for this mod organizer anymore. I use NMM, and it works fine. It does what I need it to, and doesn't think it knows better than I do, what my load order should look like. Yeah, mixing manual installation in there as well, really isn't a good idea..... Also, I would point out, that MO2 isn't 'officially' supported either. :)
  23. Asleep at the switch most likely. :) Not the first time, won't be the last either. Think I would be tempted to troubleshoot your install, before throwing hardware at it. Start with just the vanilla game. Make sure it runs stable, with no issues. Then start adding mods.....
  24. Sure wouldn't hurt. :D I just upgraded from a GTX 1060, to an RTX 3070. The performance difference is staggering. I also run Load Accelerator, (uncaps framerate in loading screens) and loading times are a LOT shorter...... My game was pretty stable before, don't know if it improved any with the new card.
